Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/List of accolades received by The Last of Us (TV series); consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.
- ALT3 or ALT4 are good as written, though I'd consider linking black and deaf. ALT2 would also be good with a slight tweak to follow similar grammar:
ALT2b: ... that Bella Ramsey (pictured) became the first non-binary actor to receive an Emmy nomination in 2023?
- Do you have a preference? Shooterwalker (talk) 02:14, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Shooterwalker: Thanks for the suggestions; I've linked black and deaf, but of course will leave it to the promoter's discretion. Unfortunately, ALT2b is incorrect—Ramsey was not the first non-binary actor to be nominated; they were the first for a leading role at the time of nomination. – Rhain ☔ (he/him) 03:37, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
- I'm also fine with any of them and agree that we should just leave it to the promoter to pick. -- ZooBlazer 04:36, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
- I'm clearly missing some nuance around ALT2 vs ALT2b. Either way, let's go with ALT3. (And ALT4 would also be acceptable if anyone changes their mind.) Shooterwalker (talk)
- Thanks for the tick, but I believe a full review is still required per WP:DYKRR. And to clarify any confusion: Ramsey is the first non-binary actor nominated for a leading role (there was a supporting nomination in 2021) at time of nomination (there's been at least one non-binary nominee before, but they did not publicly identify as such at the time). In case ALT2 is promoted, the article clarifies this. – Rhain ☔ (he/him) 12:24, 12 March 2024 (UTC)
- Ah, I'll make it more clear for anyone else closing this review. I checked the DYK for length, verifiability, meeting the QPQ requirements, readability, and so on. Based on clarity to the reader, ALT3 works best (as does ALT4). Shooterwalker (talk) 14:06, 12 March 2024 (UTC)
- Shooterwalker, ALTs 3 and 4 are MOS:EGGy, in that the bolded link going to a Last of Us-connected page is not apparent from the hook. Are ALTs 0 and 1 acceptable? ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 13:48, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
- Here are some alts with clearer bolded links:
- ALT2a: ... that Bella Ramsey's (pictured) Emmy nomination for The Last of Us was the first for a non-binary actor in a leading role at the time of nomination?
- ALT3a: ... that his nomination for The Last of Us made Keivonn Woodard (pictured) the second-youngest actor and first black deaf actor to be nominated at the Emmys?
- ALT3b: ... that Keivonn Woodard's (pictured) nomination for The Last of Us made him the second-youngest actor and first black deaf actor to be nominated at the Emmys?
- ALT4a: ... that his nomination for The Last of Us made Pedro Pascal (pictured) the second Latino to be nominated for Lead Actor in a Drama Series since 1999?
- ALT4b: ... that Pedro Pascal's (pictured) nomination for The Last of Us made him the second Latino to be nominated for Lead Actor in a Drama Series since 1999?
- Hope that helps to give more options. – Rhain ☔ (he/him) 14:00, 20 March 2024 (UTC) (+ ALT3b & 4b ☔)
