Hi, I would like to have a second opinion about the copyright policy of PIB. See this page and tell me if it is fine to release the images under Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 2.5 Generic license. Thanks, ƬheStrikeΣagle sorties 16:59, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
- "The permission to reproduce this material shall not extend to any third-party material. Authorisation to reproduce such material must be obtained from the departments/copyright holders concerned."
- But we can't distinguish which material is actually owned by third-party and which is owned by PIB.
- "The material must be reproduced accurately and not used in a derogatory manner or in a misleading context."
- All the licenses which Commons supports want republication and distribution and publication of derivative as must. We cannot guarantee that the reproductions would not be derogatory or misleading.
Because of this we can't use PIB images under CC BY-SA 2.5 license. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 17:32, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Hindi typing software
Could you suggest me a Hindi typing software— phonetic, free, full version, and must not conflict with F12 key, because that is reserved for my Bengali keyboard, OS Windows 7. Thank you in advance. --Tito☸Dutta 09:04, 11 January 2014 (UTC)
- Software... liek something you can install on your computer? That i don't know. But have you tried this Google tool? I use this for Devnagri typing. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 12:18, 11 January 2014 (UTC)
Mahua Mukherjee
hello, you have to add a proper reference to your claim that she is a current member of the university. A link to a newspaper article will not do, since she could be a former member. If her name is also spelled differently, then you have to add a further explanation or reference to it. This is not blind reverting as you call it, but you are not properly sourcing your claim. Please ensure the appropriate referencing. Thank you. Gryffindor (talk) 20:10, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
Hi: You contributed to the AfD on this article and you list Hindi as one of your languages on your user page; could I ask you a favour? Prathamprakash29 has uploaded scans of three newspaper articles rather than adding them as footnotes. He's also attempted to add them to Talk:New R. S. J. Public School but they aren't showing up for some reason. They are: File:Annual Function 2008-2009.jpg, File:Plantation at School.jpg and File:Impressive results of school.jpg (I'm assuming that's the upper half of the page.) Could I ask you to (a) put the article titles and author if any on the article talk page and (b) speak there to what if anything they say that is useful to the article? As image files, I can't even try Google translate on them, but he has given the newspaper and date for each on the image page. They should probably be deleted as copyvios, so I'm eager to extract any useful information as quickly as possible. Many thanks if you can help. Yngvadottir (talk) 18:18, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
- Pratham forgot to add the extensions (.jpg) to the filenames. I've done so. I'm aware that they're copyvios, so please hurry so we can delete them as fast as possible. --Jakob (talk) 18:33, 15 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. Hello Dharma
Greetings, I had seen your contributions for Article Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and want to thank you for the same. Your effort is greatly appreciated, you had tried to make article neutral and encyclopedic. However I had also seen some users are involved in distortion and hard criticism, it seem they are biased editors. They are hard critiquing and beyond the limits, However I need you support to make it Good article and also to mock them for biased editing but according to wikipedia regulations. I will be grateful for your help. KLS 16:18, 26 January 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kswarrior (talk • contribs)
Rameshwar Dayal Dantre
Hi User talk:Dharmadhyaksha, couple of days back you said that I can continue to add more inputs to the article Rameshwar Dayal Dantare (Dantre) and now your are deleting the content saying that it is not verifiable whether he is dead. I need your help to understand the process so that I can upload or send to you moderators the death certificate or any other document in future. for proof of DoB, please refer to affidavit given to Election Commission of India on 24Nov2003 where his age was 74. By that calculation, his year of birth is 1929. http://eci.nic.in/archive/website_2/S12/10/Rameswer/Rameswer_SC1.html --Silaupura (talk) 09:10, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
- @Silaupura: You must have received a welcome note at the start of your editing spree on Wikipedia. I suggest you read through it, understand it and then only come back to editing stuff again. All and all data on wikipedia needs to be sourced. I can't simply go and write that Rahul Gandhi is dead without any back up from a reliable source. If you have websources, you need to add those to the article. Giving it to me on my talk page doesn't really help. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 13:53, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
Hi User talk:Dharmadhyaksha, today I wrote some sourced data also like:
- Year of Birth can be validated from affidavit http://eci.nic.in/archive/website_2/S12/10/Rameswer/Rameswer_SC1.html where his age was 74 years in 2003. Today that also has been deleted by you.
- His Plantation and Seed Bank work had been sourced from govt website i.e. Worked for the welfare of females through registered society 'Konhar Mahila Mandal' source: http://www.nbtindia.gov.in/writereaddata/attachmentNews/monday-august-05-20133-38-02-pmannexure-1.pdf page=37
- Led Vriksharopad (Plantation) and Seed Bank drives through "Konhar Mahila Mandal" http://www.epco.in/pdfs/Sanct_List_NEAC.pdf page=7
May I request you to please allow this sourced information at least. --Silaupura (talk) 16:50, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
Hi User talk:Dharmadhyaksha, may I request a reply on above 3 points. all are sourced from government sources at internet. Allow me to add these 3 points on page of Rameshwar Dayal Dantre.--Silaupura (talk) 18:57, 27 February 2014 (UTC)

Comparison of Canadian and American economies
Thankyou for adding FATCA_agreement_between_Canada_and_the_United_States to the AfD section on US and Canadian projects.
There is another Canadian US article that is in jeopardy/ in need of some tender loving care. That is Comparison_of_Canadian_and_American_economies.
People on the Economics project have noted its poor quality and suggested it may be an AfD candidate Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Economics#Comparison_of_Canadian_and_American_economies. Jonpatterns (talk) 18:16, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

Bollywood Hungama image link commons
Firstly there are a huge number of unreviewed Bollywood Hungama files at Commons. Second, I am seeing an increased number of "wrong source" mention there. I feel this is happening there: an editor is selecting an image, Bollywood Hungama provides few other images thumbnail in image reel above the opened image. An editor clicks on another image. But unfortunately the image URL does not change there. You may an example here. They need to open the image from the main page. I think there should be a note for it. Fixing so many sources are problematic. Also, can you add an option "License review on hold" with an option of "custom message", where I can easily write "please give exact URL" (it is because I sometimes can't find the images)Tito☸Dutta 17:46, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
- Hi! I stopped reviewing BH images coz they were under lotsa questions recently. Don't know why Sreejith stopped too... maybe for the same reason. I know the link problem. I try to mend it when they are few and i have time. But if it gets repititive from a particular user, i simply tag them with file source missing. Let the uploaders clean their own mess. We have plenty images now and we don't have to conserve them. So lets teach them how its to be done. I hate to clean all the image sources and see that uploader actually doesn't even care of how much work they are making us do. So simply tag them and if they provide source in said time, we will have it or let it get deleted....!!! §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 05:08, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

hi dharma, thank for the notification but i think u were not correct on deleting Dimpy Mahajan's wikipedia because of many reason first of all it being that it was wrong of you to say that she doesnt have any credentials other than being married to Rahul mahajan. She was a big time model in calcutta before she went to the the reality show . She was awarded as the most Potential in galdrags megamodel hunt which was a huge platform .She had already done many a serials in her mothertougue [1] and even after marriage she got her own recognition in dance [2] and was awarded the best performer, thus proving my point! thank you and hope u will understand and not close and merge her site with Rahul Mahajan and if u hav anything to say please write to me on my user talk page as User: srimoyeeganguly And hope u have a great day ahead . User: srimoyeeganguly{T/C} 3.14 11 February 2014.
- @Srimoyeeganguly: Hello! The article was merged and redirected to Rahul Mahajan (TV personality) after the consensus of editors at the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dimpy Mahajan. @dharmadhyasha firstly dharma i would like to let you know that i am not vandalising any public properly ..i am instead trying to make a point. and instead of trying to understand my simple point that these two people are separate entity and they should have their own identity, you r constantly insulting my actions . i just undid wat u majorly changed about a person . you were the one who started the disruptive behaviors and deleting public properly . i nicely requested you to understand my point . instaed of giving me an explanation for ur thus behaviour , u r telling me i should b stopped from writting ? u tell me wat is wrong with that article ?
also i would like to say one more thing . u maybe a gold star editor and maybe a lot of things more but noone gave u any right to disrespect any opinion anyone has .!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Srimoyeeganguly (talk • contribs) 13:27, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- @Srimoyeeganguly: And what about the disrespect you are showing to others? The decision to redirect her article to that of her husband was made by many people. Go to Wikipedia:Deletion review and say there whatever you want to. Please avoid reverting me. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 14:59, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

- Hey Tito, I've no idea where it is but I doubt that I'd be there. I've not been able to wear my hearing aids for nearly a year now and that means I cannot hear anyone insult me (I was born profundly deaf). I've also got yet another appointment with a surgeon's scalpel sometime during the summer. Of course, it could all change but things do not look very good at the moment unless the thing is being held just down the road from where I live, enabling me to bugger off when I'm overwhelmed. I'd also need to invest in some bullet-proof clothing, I guess. - Sitush (talk) 16:58, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

Dear Dharmadhyaksha,
I have seen that you have considered my subject's article for deletion, may I know the reason why? I see you are an Indian and there are enough references from leading houses of Indian print media to support my article. Most of the content has been deleted without any warning as well. I have gone through the deletion policies too, but do not see much reason for the action anymore, as you have already performed the required edition. The writer is a living person, who very well deserves a place on wikipedia for his work(s).
I humbly request you to lift the temporary ban on the article(s). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lakshmikm (talk • contribs) 15:01, 17 February 2014 (UTC)

We are closing in on a year that it has been formally tagged and no reliable third party sources have been provided. [1] Without sources being provided soon there will be action taken. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 19:07, 1 March 2014 (UTC)

- Sorry for slight delay. Was editing something else. Tito has given you the right link. Although the award is just in-house award, it seems to be passing GNG, just because it has many pretty faces associated with it. Also, we have no written notability on awards and someday someone should make WP:NAWARD a blue link. Till then, the article can't be deleted on PROD. You may take it to AfD but i don't think it would be deleted there either. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 19:49, 1 March 2014 (UTC)
- (e/c) But really what is there to say about the awards program? "The channel holds a ceremony where it promotes its shows". Big whoop. We can easily cover that in the article about the channel itself. I dont see anything where there is anyone talking about it being some kind of "prestigious" event that anyone gives any value too. There dont seem to be any "iconic TV moments" - its just one big annual advertisement.
-- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 20:33, 1 March 2014 (UTC)
what is there to say about the awards program?
— What actually are you looking for? The first two pages of the link I gave shows articles on almost everything, from participants, editions, anchors, celebs attending the award, films being promoted at the event. For example see this article. I agree ZRA is not IIFA, but so many media coverage (in the search link I excluded Zee's own articles) can not be ignored. Tito☸Dutta 20:51, 1 March 2014 (UTC)
- I am looking for something which we could write about that would be other than a "cast list" and "plot summary". Do we have anything about how the marketeers work their spreadsheets in the back office to determine who "wins" so that as they divvy out the "prizes" amongst all of their shows they get the best "marketing return" for this two hour advertisement? has the self congratulatory nature been parodied in comedies? do people wait to see who is going to show up in the duck dress? has any actor ever said "i owe my career to being named 'best husband' " / "I have been type-cast since i won 'best negative role'" and it has ruined my career"? Do the shows time their stunts and plot twist so that the awards previews can highlight the buzz? -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 12:14, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
- @TheRedPenOfDoom: I agree with you that its just a big advertisement. Such in-house awards are not at all notable. If i scored good in exams and my dad gave me a videogame, that's not worth nothing as "award" anywhere in my biography. I am seeing towards these awards as more like a show. The show that gets 2-3 times repeat airing and is hence watched by many people. I will try to look out for it's TRP rating or viewership stats. And that's about all the reason why the article should be present. Rest all info present in the article; the hosts, venue, nominees; is all just describing the show, similar to Plot section of any film. I am actually open to the idea that it be merged to the channel's article. But deleting via PROD is no-no. Dunno what other editors have to say about it. Btw, its not just this article alone. Other similar ones are Colors Golden Petal Awards, Sab Ke Anokhe Awards, STAR Parivaar Awards, Star Jalsha awards. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 07:12, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
- Btw, am also opposed to those biographies who claim to be notable for having won these kinda awards. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 07:21, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
- *
Such in-house awards are not at all notable.
— why is it so? From the day corporate houses and business channels started giving awards, everything became advertisement and promotion. It is not and can not be BFJA. The question is how many independent news segments are covering it. Tito☸Dutta 07:51, 3 March 2014 (UTC)- In general, if you are giving award to yourself, how will it be notable? Just the way we do not write "Times of India is best newspaper" if it is sourced from TOI itself, we can't actually call such awards notable. Also, if you look at it, the awards are not presented as "Best Actor", "Best Negative Role" etc. but are given as "Best Sister-in-law", "Best Husband-Wife" etc. They aren't actually appreciating the task the actors are doing but just the characters they are playing. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 08:23, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
if you are giving award to yourself
— It is not awarding one in a family of four (members). They occupy a large part of the Hindi television industry. "Award sphere" must be everywhere. Tito☸Dutta 08:45, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
- It is. The Zee Rishtey Awards are awarded only to the TV shows that air on Zee TV. And likewise for other awards. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 08:54, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

Hi Thanks for your suggestion on the talk page of Aurobindo, can you suggest some one to start the GA process , its been a year in making!! Shrikanthv (talk) 08:23, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
- @Shrikanthv: Hi! I have fixed the GA nomination template at Talk:Sri Aurobindo. Do NOT create the Talk:Sri Aurobindo/GA2 yourself. The reviewer would create it. Once nominated, the nomination is presented on various pages linked to the various projects which cover the topic. If you create the GA2 page, it appears as a blue link and then someone would think that someone else has already begun the review. Wait for sometime and someone will start it. Until now i guess many were already thinking that the review has begun. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 10:59, 6 March 2014 (UTC)

Mr.Dharmadhyaksha! I appreciate your work in "Raju (disambiguation)" page.It is nice but in the list of People, there are persons who belongs to different castes other than "Rajus" caste. For example: Pallam Raju belongs to kapu caste but not Rajus and also some other people are present who doesn't belong to Rajus caste. You please provide persons who belong to Rajus caste only in that page.
- One more thing i have to say is "Rajus" is not a caste name it is just used by people.Government of Andhra Pradesh mentions & refers them as "Kshatriya" in its caste list and also in its records and it doesn't use the word "Raju" there.
- http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Is_kshatriya_raju_caste_a_forward_or_backward_caste?#slide=1 & http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_caste_raju_belong_to_in_Sikhism & http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_caste_does_Raju_belong_to
- Rajus is a forward caste in Andhra Pradesh and people of that caste use the term "Raju" or "Varma" at the end of their names. But, nowadays different other caste members are using "Raju" at the end of their names as i have said above.
- So,please remove people who belong to other castes from the list and provide only people who belongs to Rajus caste in that page.I hope you understand.Thank you -117.200.20.68 (talk) 16:43, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
- Mr. Numbers! The disambiguation page serves as a page of blue links where one reader can find all entries of similar names. If you see, the film Raju and the Iranian Raju village have certainly got nothing to do with their castes and their mention on the page. You are confusing this page with something like List of people belonging to Raju caste. But please be informed that such caste-lists are also not entertained on Wikipedia. Am sure you have met User:Sitush, which could be one of the many reasons why you are not a registered user anymore, who would have plenty many links to give you that would tell you that we do not categorize people based on their caste. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 17:48, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
- Some links at User:Sitush/Common#Castecats. The actual reason lies in the mists of time. SpacemanSpiff seems to have been involved in that particular thing for far longer than I have. The IP is almost certainly block evasion by Shvrs, as was 117.200.29.60 - the geolocate is slightly different but the ISP and topic interests - including the kshatriya hobbyhorse above - are pure Shvrs. - Sitush (talk) 18:22, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
- I don't need to talk with sitush.
- Mr.Dharmadhyaksha! then why have you written this in the reason that "sorting and removing other Rajus. Only Rajus with "Raju" in their name have place here".Thats why i have asked you, otherwise there is no need for me to ask you & listen advices from you & your friends. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.207.249.83 (talk) 03:22, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi, I removed unnecessary text which do not add info to subject.
- Ashok Kumar's awards not needed in Gulzar articles
- note telling about it won national award and info telling how are Gulzars words
- Simplified language
- Neutral POV - no words like "memorable", "clicked", "defiant than faux pass" - better we avoid them
- prayer which is sung in many schools in India. - not important and not provable completely
In short, simplification. :)
Regards,-Nizil (talk) 19:29, 6 May 2014 (UTC)
- @Nizil Shah: I will keep my replies here and will invite you to talk here itself. Going to and fro kills the conversation.
- You removed the essence of Gulzar's work. If you ever happen to watch Aashirwad, you would notice that Kumar played a role where his many dialogues are lyrical. What you kept is "He wrote dialogue and lyrics for 1968 film Aashirwad directed and produced by Hrishikesh Mukherjee." which is seen in his filmography table and had no need to be framed in such a lame sentence. Kumar won Best actor awards and the reference provided therewith said Gulzar's dialogue writing provided the "much-needed additional dimension" that was needed for the character.
- Gulzar writes "words". Thats why we have an article on him. So its essential to tell how his words are. The note was additionally added for editors/readers like you who might think the reference is crap gossip newspaper. As we do not have a blue link for the author or the award-winning book, it is necessary to describe the source. In your edit you wrote "He gained attention for songs of 1969 film Khamoshi including "Humne Dekhi Hai Un Aankhon Ki Mehekti Khushboo"". and removed that he "did not gain much attention until the 1969's". Also, by using "including" your edit suggests that "Dost Kahan Koi Tumsa", which is another song from the film also gave him his identity. When you listen to these song, i hope you personally would also understand what the problem is. Until then i suppose you should simply believe the award-winning book for whats notable and whats not.
- Replied above.
- I would agree on removal of "memorable" and "clicked" but not of "defiant than faux paus" as thats how the source describes them. You may rephrase it but not remove it.
- Its important on so many points. Its goes to say that writer of "Jai Ho", "Namak Ishq Ka" and "Chaddi Pehen ke Phool Khila Hai" has also written a prayer. It speaks on the prayer's popularity on how its sung in schools as against to maybe "Mann Mohana" of Jodhaa Akbar or "O Paalanhaare" of Lagaan or "Tora Mann Darpan Kehlaye" of Kaajal. And what do you mean by "not provable completely"? That only means you removed text without reading references.
- In short, nuisance. :)
Also, please note and follow that Film Title is in italics and "Song Title" is in inverted commas. You have messed song titles' formatting too. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 20:02, 6 May 2014 (UTC)- Its OK if you like to re-add what I have removed. Yes, your views are not wrong. But it should look neutral. :) -Nizil (talk) 09:19, 7 May 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks! Have added it back. Make sure you remove only peacock terms to make it neutral in case you find any. Don't remove other information. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 10:26, 7 May 2014 (UTC)

Koenraad Elst (serious BLP violations in a BLP article)
There are serious, ongoing and long-term BLP violations in the BLP article Koenraad Elst (see also at the BLP noticeboard).
The BLP article seems to be unstable: Each time someone removes any BLP violations in the article, they are being restored - and an user is again threatening to restore all BLP violations "soon". BLP policy is crucial to be enforced. Because of the very serious NPOV violations in a BLP article, this requires the attention of neutral editors.
The NPOV violations were explained in great detail by the subject of the lemma here:
- The wikipedia lemma on "Koenraad Elst": a textbook example of defamation
- Meera Nanda against Hinduism
These links say among other things:
- Well, there you have it. The lemma on me has ended up taking this form because some militant among your contributors purposely wanted to “warn readers” against me. Please cite me an instruction for encyclopedists that names “warning” among the legitimate goals of an encyclopedia.
- Either you remove the lemma altogether, or you straighten it out and apply the rules of encyclopedia-writing to it. At any rate, in a encyclopedia, I count on being judged for what I myself have said or done, and not for the gossip my declared enemies have come up with.
- If Wikipedia wants to live up to its promise of being a reliable encyclopedic source, it will strike this and all sentences resembling it from its article on me. At most, it can use me as an example of how it was fooled by some of its all-too-partisan collaborators. Speaking of whom: the history page accompanying my page proves forever that some Wikipedia collaborators wanted to inflict on me the maximum harm possible, an attitude incompatible with work for an encyclopedia. --Calypsomusic (talk) 12:01, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

"DYK that JRM, the new CM of Bihar, had encouraged people to eat rats during a food crisis in the state in 2008." The current one is a little too political, and doesn't mention that he was cleared of all charges.—indopug (talk) 05:26, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
- You are welcome! Some editors might not like the rat thing. In fact, am guessing the info would also be removed by some from the article. Some IPs have already tried doing that. Also, we do not promote negative-highlights of people in DYK. Having said that, "alleged scam involvement" is no positive either. But for politicians its routine I suppose. If you wish to add another hook or clarify on his absolution, you can suggest alternatives there. Kuru family tree
Hi Dharmadhyaksha. I have returned the Kuru family tree to the Mahabharata article but left it also in the Kuru kingdom article. The tree was devised specifically to clarify and illustrate the MB story so I feel it belongs in there. But I would also question its suitability without editing for the Kuru Kingdom article since that article is intended to be a historic article, and the claims of divine birth, Gandhari's hundred sons and so on are definitely not appropriate for such an article, while they do directly reflect the MB story. If the Kuru Kingdom article is put solely in the context of Indian mythology then of course it would be different, but I don't read it as such. Thanks, Imc (talk) 07:21, 3 August 2014 (UTC)

Template:Hinduism and its other related topics
Sir,Since the Om symbol which was present before my edit and after you reverted to the same symbol does not represent the original symbol and my symbol is more suitable because of following reasons:-
- My edited symbol show the saffror or 'kesariya' and 'bhagya' color which is used by most hindu temples, organizations etc whereas Red color of Om is not recognized by any hindu scriputures as well.
- My Om symbol is surrounded by a circle which represents the dawn time of sun or 'suryodaya' to which is an daily excercise by normal hindu.
Kindly rechange the om symbol as soon as possible. Your sincerely, Pradyumna Singh, A true Hindu. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pradyumnas741 (talk • contribs) 16:18, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
- @Pradyumnas741: Your reasons are not quite rational. Just to contradict those there are reasons to use old symbol or create more new symbols too. Red is the colour of kumkum and traditionally and in routine kumkum is used to create Om or swastika symbols in Hinduism. Hence red can also be used. Your suryodaya logic is really farfetched. To contradict that I can also say that non-circled Om indicates more openness and freedom; it also indicates Akasha, which is one of the pancha mahabhootas. In addition, adding aesthetic aspect, when the whole template is saffron, the red om adds a contrast and looks even better. Am reverting you again. I suppose if you want it your way, you should propose at Wikipedia talk:Hinduism-related topics notice board or Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics and get WP:CONSENSUS there from other editors too. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 12:44, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
Vermilion or Sindoor or Kumkum denotes that a woman is married in many Hindu communities not Hinduism whereas Tilak which is applied to us by pundits in temples is made up by mixing of kumkum with turmeric(haldi) and chandan or obtained by from saffron .
In Sanatan Dharma (Hinduism), the deep saffron color is associated with sacrifice, religious abstinence, quest for light and salvation. Saffron or "Bhagwa" is the most sacred color for the Hindus and is often worn by Sanyasis who have left their home in search of the ultimate truth. And coming to the encircle Om,Since Hinduism is only religion in world which depends on the perception and interpretation You can say that non-circled Om indicates more openness and freedom; it also indicates Akasha, which is one of the pancha mahabhootas but from my pint of view its the protection of Hinduism from evil spirits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pradyumnas741 (talk • contribs) 12:59, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
- I can't beat your logic by being rational. So please choose one of the above suggested venues to open your discussion and get consensus from there. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 13:04, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
Hindu Political parties
I'm curious as to why you removed that tag from a couple of places; it seems to me that if it applies anywhere, it applies to the BJP and BJS pages. Categorization is not something I spend much time doing, so I thought I'd ask you for an explanation. Vanamonde93 (talk) 18:58, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
- Well, what do they even mean by that category? Are all members of these parties supposed to be Hindu? §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 08:56, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
- I admit it isn't the best, but I would imagine it means "parties which subscribe to Hindutva" which is a more specific set than just the "Hindutva" category. Vanamonde93 (talk) 14:17, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
- Well, Hinduism and Hindutva are different. When referring it as "Hindu political parties", it more inclines to the common usage as Hinduism and not Hindutva. Apart from that minor name change error, do all the parties in that category really "subscribe" to any specific religion? Am not talking just about the Hindu one, but also others in Category:Religious political parties. And what is this subscription extent needed? These parties do have non-Hindu members in them and also include non-Hindu masses in their plans. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 16:53, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
- That is a little simplistic, is it not? Sure, they have Muslim members, and Sikh members, and Christian members; but there are also literally hundreds of academic references that discuss the fact of their "exclusionary" or "chauvinistic" ideology, based on Hinduism being the "primary" Indian religion/identity. Now I agree that the name was not ideal; but there is a set of parties, and therefore Wikipedia articles, that consists essentially of the overlap between "Hindutva," "Religious political parties," and "Indian political parties," and it is a set with multiple members. To me, this makes it seem like there should be a category for such, but like I said, I have not worked too much with categories. Do you disagree? Vanamonde93 (talk) 21:42, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

Dharmadhyaksha, the article is much closer to being ready for a full-fledged DYK review: there are a couple of tags that need taking care of. It looks like it was given a copyedit a few days ago, which helps, but the current issue now is finishing the remaining sourcing.
If you mean to return to the article, please let us know on the review; it's been a week since the comment noting those remaining sourcing issues. Your recent editing history at List of Indian film selections and winners at the Cannes Film Festival shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard Bhishek (talk) 12:27, 9 October 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 14
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Jyotirlinga, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Pashupatinath. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Can you change independents from white? not visible at all...maybe peach or something similarLihaas (talk) 14:39, 19 October 2014 (UTC)
- @Lihaas: Hi! I tried changing the colour instant to peach shade. But turns out I don't have svg editor. Never mind, I can create a different file and upload it over the current one. But I faced another problem. We have same colours for some parties and hence I have opened a discussion at Wikipedia_talk:Noticeboard_for_India-related_topics#Colour_of_politics. Do participate if you wish to. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 06:39, 20 October 2014 (UTC)

DYK nomination of Ganga puja
There is an outstanding problem with your nomination of this article at DYK, you may wish to revisit the template for your nomination. Please let me know on my talk page if you would like me to review the nomination again. Regards, Moonraker (talk) 03:41, 23 October 2014 (UTC)
- I have withdrawn my objection, as I think this expansion has now overcome the minor copyvio problems which were there. I have also done some copy-editing myself, I do not think the article had quite grasped what was going on with the State of Tripura after August 1947, perhaps because the article on the former princely state was also confused. I have made some corrections to that, too. Moonraker (talk) 04:15, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
- Please see new note on DYK nomination page. Yoninah (talk) 18:21, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
DYK for Ganga puja
On 13 November 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Ganga puja, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that in the Ganga puja festival, the Tripuri people of India build a temporary bamboo temple in a river stream and pray to be saved from epidemic diseases? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Ganga puja. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

Maha election 2014
Hi. Hope you're well. I wondered if you knew how to change the infobox so it says BJP = 1st party rather than majority and likewise with Shiv Sena = 2nd party like how it was in the 2004 election article. It seemed strange to me to keep the majority and minority designation as they aren't in an alliance, campaigned independently and BJP is currently trying to make a minority government work.
