- Project News
- Members of the project issued a roll call on September 16 to help us determine which members are still active within our project. If you haven't done so already, make sure to move your name from the Inactive Members list to Active Members. (Now over 100 active!) Next month the newsletter will only be sent out to active members. If you wish to no longer remain active in the project, but still wish to receive the newsletter, add your name here.
- The first election for new coordinators started on September 28 and will run till October 11, 2007. Take some time to review the candidates and feel free to ask questions or leave any comments you may have. If you are interested in running for one of the positions, add your name any time up to the end of the voting period.
- We have now reached over 31,000 film articles that have been assessed by our assessment department! Remember to always add the {{Film|class=}} template to a film article's talk page so the project can get a better idea of what work still needs to be done. Below is a table showing a breakdown of our articles by class and importance.
- The {{Film}} banner has been revamped to include various film task forces (such as the Persian, Argentine, and Italian task forces) and a B-Class checklist. A current error in the Film template shows that there over 1,700 unassessed articles, but the majority of these have the List, Dab, NA, etc. classes and are not properly formatted to the right categories. This will be resolved shortly once the code of the template is fixed.
- The project has a new task force, War Films. The task force is a joint effort of WP:FILMS and WP:MILHIST. If you're interested, stop by and consider assisting in improving the quality of war films within the projects.
- Spotlight Update: Multiple films and film-related articles have reached GA and FA status in September 2007.
- Additionally, another GA was delisted this month. Take a look on the talk pages to see the reasons for delisting and help return the article to its high quality.
- Member News
- Recipients of the WikiProject Films Award: Blofeld of SPECTRE for his dedicated work in adding many film articles and improving various areas around the project. Also, Lugnuts was awarded the Silent Film Award for his work on creating new articles on the silent films of the 1910-1920s. If you think there is a deserving editor who has made excellent contributions to the project, consider awarding him/her the WikiProject Films Award. If you do so, please alert one of the editors who will ensure that the member gets mentioned in the next newsletter.
- Please add your name to the member list if you have not already.
