The Ōtautahi Christchurch monthly meetups are a chance for Wiki people (Wikipedia, Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, Wikisource, etc.) to get together. Everybody's welcome, beginners or experienced.
- The Pedal Pusher, at 286 Lincoln Road, Addington.
- 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday 1 September 2024
Note: The venue can cater to a wide variety of dietary requirements, including vegan and vegetarian options. If you are considering consuming alcoholic beverages... please ensure you have a safe way of getting home that does not involve driving.
The venue is accessible by bus. You can use the MetroInfo Journey Planner to find your preferred route. From the Bus Interchange take the number 7 to Halswell. There is also Route 120 that goes between Burnside and Spreydon, though this is less frequent.
The venue does not have a dedicated place to park cars, however there is on-street parking available along Lincoln Road. Despite the venue's name, there does not appear to be any bicycle parking available.

What have we been up to?
edit- Herewhy (talk) I recently expanded Citizens Advice outside the United Kingdom#New Zealand. The NZ section was one sentence long. Kid you not. I think the section would be enhanced by CABNZ’s logo. It is trademarked. I went as far as finding the trademark template Wikipedia:Logos, but it was all gobbledegook to me. If anyone has experience with logos and copyrights, I’d be very grateful for any assistance you can offer.
- David Palmer//cloventt (talk) FINALLY got around to publishing my expanded history of Kaiapoi town, so that article is starting to feel a bit more “complete”.
- Alexeyevitch(talk) - A lot of work on-wiki recently since I've been home the whole week. Although I have been involved in a good amount of Christchurch related things (not just WP). You just can't make this stuff up anymore. Not to sound hubris on my part, but I recently found out my great-great-grandfather was born in 1854 and 20–30 -ish years later arrived to Christchurch and was somewhat of a notable figure in this city (at the time). Anyways, I'll upload updated images of neighborhoods and new buildings etc. with open licenses when my condition subsides.
- Giantflightlessbirds: I unexpectedly got to go to Wikimania in Katowice, Poland (along with Tamsin, Siobhan, and Heidi). There’s a report in progress here, but highlights were the discussions and debates about AI, agreement about setting up a GLAM Wiki video meeting in the ESEAP time zone, and being introduced to WikiPortrait–the US based group of Wikipedians who photograph people at conferences and other events. Otherwise I’ve been working with several different National Science Challenges as they wind up after 10 years and want to move some of their images and publications to Wikimedia platforms.
- Useful round-table discussion about the potential in Te Ara.
- Great discussion about limits of AI and Chat GPT.
- Heard about Voice Intro project and contributors recording notable people introducing themselves.

edit- Had a crack at fixing WP:NPOV on the article for Phil Mauger. Might have a go at making an article for Colin Meurk. David Palmer//cloventt (talk)
