Orphaned non-free image File:HercCover1.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:HercCover1.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ZooFari 06:19, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
Olympian characters
editI like what you've done on pages like Typhon, Hera, and Athena! Do you have any updates for characters with more minor roles in the storyline, such as Apollo, Artemis, and Hephaestus? 24.148.0.83 (talk) 22:38, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use File:RobertGhiz.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:RobertGhiz.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Theleftorium (talk) 13:12, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

The article Jeff Haffley has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Only half a dozen passing refs on gnews; appears to be non notable.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Epeefleche (talk) 06:57, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
I noticed your recent edit to Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympics does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

editHello. I’ve saw you created many articles on figure skaters. I’ve also created on Devid Naryzhnyy / Elizaveta Shanaeva who qualified for JGP final weeks ago, but it got nominated to get deleted because of the standard of the notability(It says only competing at junior world champion can be verified as having notability. Not for qualifying JGP Finals) There seems like not many people here know about figure skating, importance of qualifying the final. could you review here and put your honest vote? thank you. Alysa Liu
editCaptain, on 31 January 2020, you changed the citation format of Alysa Liu to a list format, even though it had used inline citations since it was created in July 2018 (by me). Why did you do that? I direct you to this policy: WP:ILCLUTTER, which although it recommends a list format to decrease clutter, states, "As with other citation formats, articles should not undergo large-scale conversion between formats without consensus to do so." Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 04:29, 5 February 2020 (UTC)
My apologies, I certainly didn’t intend any offense. It seemed from my travels around the various FS articles that this was the more common citation in use for them, so I thought it would be consistent and didn’t think further on it than that. If there’s a policy that weighs against that, quite right that it should be followed. CaptainCanada (talk) 04:37, 5 February 2020 (UTC)
No problem. You really shouldn't make any widescale changes to any article before gaining consensus on the talk page. You go to the talk page and say, "Hey guys, I noticed that most FS articles have the list format; how come this one doesn't?" And then I probably would've said something like, "Oh no particular reason; it's just my preference." And then you could've come back and said, "Well, shouldn't these articles be consistent?" and I would've answered, "Not necessarily", and the discussion would've continued until you saw that I was right. ;) Hey, would you mind changing it back? I ask because all the other editors have been following the OG inline format and we don't wanna confuse anyone. Thanks. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 05:19, 5 February 2020 (UTC)

It is not "minor" to change another editor's preferred wording
editAfter all, it's specifically the move 2.Ke2 which violates opening principles. The standard wikipedia undo function does not mark the edit as minor by default, so I don't know where you get the stuff about "revert tools" from, unless you mean "anti-vandalism tools". No apologies for persisting with this when you refuse to acknowledge wikipedia community standards and insist on deleting from your talk page and replying in annoying edit summaries.
