Promotion of World Figure Skating Championships cumulative medal count

edit
Congratulations, Bgsu98! The list you nominated, World Figure Skating Championships cumulative medal count, has been promoted to featured status, recognizing it as one of the best lists on Wikipedia. The nomination discussion has been archived.
This is a rare accomplishment and you should be proud. If you would like, you may nominate it to appear on the Main page as Today's featured list. Keep up the great work! Cheers, PresN (talk) via FACBot (talk) 12:25, 6 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please don’t revert editors changes without consulting first. If you fail to follow this Wikipedia already knows and they will be talking to you. If you have a problem, reply to this message. Jd101991 (talk) 00:13, 9 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

What in fuck’s name does that even mean? Who is “they” and why will they be “talking to” me? That greater than/less than icon you keep trying to use is wholly inappropriate as it has been used to represent the Yield on the results tables of previous seasons. User:Xoruz found an appropriate icon that actually looks like an A. He is very good at this, by the way; so I would follow his lead. You have been reverted by two different editors now (Xoruz and myself); any further attempts by you to revert to that < will constitute edit warring. Bgsu98 (Talk) 00:46, 9 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
So since you reverted it I’ll give Wikipedia the go ahead because I sent an message and they responded and they will talk with you. Jd101991 (talk) 00:49, 9 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
And you said he’s good at this??? He took all the info from my group and copied and pasted before I had the chance to. Jd101991 (talk) 00:51, 9 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, you go ahead and do that, champ. 😂😂😂 Bgsu98 (Talk) 00:53, 9 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Drum and Bugle Corps Edits

edit

I am not sure what motivated you to go through and delete repertoire and score history pre 1972 for a bunch of drum and bugle corps but this information is all verified and sourced for every page. You can't unilaterally make a decision that "we" aren't going to acknowledge information past a certain date. Odysseymsc (talk) 14:09, 24 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

I didn't do anything unilaterally, champ. All of the former DCA corps are now under the umbrella of DCI, which means their articles are going to be adapted to match the format of the existing DCI articles. Bgsu98 (Talk) 23:35, 24 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is User Deleting Historical Information. Thank you. El_C 14:46, 24 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Big Brother 26 (American season), is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Aditionally, please do not delete comments in your talk page as they can be restored easily. Thank you. Jd101991 (talk) 22:35, 17 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Jesus H. Christ, do not go around issuing warning templates if you have NO FUCKING CLUE what you’re doing. The Big Brother article is not a discussion page, so this “warning”, like most of your edits, makes zero sense. The re-write that I reinstated at least didn’t sound like it was written by a mediocre fourth-grader with a tenuous grasp of the English language. And I know someone like you with a proven history of edit warring and sockpuppetry isn’t accusing me or anyone else of bad form. 😒😒😒 Bgsu98 (Talk) 22:51, 17 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

The references are not formatted or listed well as per other Wikipedia pages (see Yuzuru Hanyu for good example of ref format). It also provides social media which are not reliable and independent, so I was wondering if there are more reputable sources. ⋆。˚꒰ঌ Clara A. Djalim ໒꒱˚。⋆ 16:21, 25 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Honestly, it looks like the reference section of every other figure skating article I've ever encountered, so I'm not sure what about it looks off to you. As for social media, while it's not ideal, it's also not verboten depending on the circumstance. However, the link you cited (WP:LINKSTOAVOID) does not address the use of social media as a source, but instead instructs us to not link directly to social media in the article (for example, a link to someone's Instagram profile in the External links section of their article).   I appreciated your supportive comment at ANI – I wasn't quite sure if I was overreacting to an empty threat which had already been reverted, and it was good to get some validation that my reaction wasn't over the top. bonadea contributions talk 09:26, 4 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Having also been on the receiving end of a death threat on WP (I mean, come on...), I know how unpleasant it can be, but I also knew an administrator would quickly take care of it. Should there be a similar occurrence in the future, please do not hesitate to contact WP Trust & Safety via e-mail so as to avoid publicizing something like that on a high-profile forum.
