Hi! Why you blocked user without edits? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1.46.24.138 (talk) 07:08, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
- Because all his edits were caught and stropped by a filter, so they don't show normally. All of them, (and there were many), were blatant racism, using the N-word several times. In the future, please remember to sign your comments in talk pages by adding four tildes at the end. -- Alexf(talk) 11:04, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
- The reason why I don’t signed my message is because this would unnecessarily ping user. And why you sure this user is male? 1.46.21.29 (talk) 13:11, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
- Not so. It is a requirement and does not ping anyone. It just indicates who posted the message and when. As per gender, who cares? Racism is unacceptable, no matter who posts it. -- Alexf(talk) 13:48, 2 January 2024 (UTC)

GJT Airlines / GetJet Airlines
How did you know that GJT Airlines looked like it was editing the GetJet Airlines page for the purpose of advertising ? I did a revert of (almost all) the user's edits within 5 minutes on 14 February, plus a possible anonymous (IP address only) sock-puppet the following day within 2 minutes. I didn't report anything formally and the GetJet Airlines page has relatively few views each day. Pmbma (talk) 14:40, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
- It wasn't advertising as much as the username. It was reported at UAA. The name of a company is in violation of the username rules. -- Alexf(talk) 15:15, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

I love your talk page archive setup
I've been experimenting with some talk page archiving, and I really like how you do it on your page. Can you elaborate on your setup? I can only really see that you use the talkheader template, but there isn't any other script I can see. If you could, I'd love if youd just copy paste some that I can yoink over to my own page :). Cheers -REDACTED403 (talk) 02:39, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
- @REDACTED403: It is fairly easy. First I go to the last archive I have (by clicking on my Talk page at the top. This opens it. I then change the number to one more and save the page. At the top of the new archive page I place {{talkarchive}} at the top. Then I go back to the Talk Page to be archived, and cut the text I want to move, (usually the last 3 months or more, depending on volume). Then I move this to the newly created archive page. Save everything and done. -- Alexf(talk) 14:08, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
Chelsea F.C.-Manchester United F.C.
Hello, I hope you are doing well. I am interested in re-creating Chelsea-Manchester United rivalry article, which was deleted by you. I wanted to know why it was deleted and if I can re-create it again with reliable sources?
Thank You! AkephalostheHeadless (talk) 19:12, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- You haven't posted a link to the deleted article, so I do not know, nor remember when or why. You can certainly create it if there are enough reliable sources to back it up. For an existing similar article you can check Arsenal F.C.–Chelsea F.C. rivalry. Good luck. -- Alexf(talk) 08:48, 2 May 2024 (UTC)

Revoke TPA?
Hi, Alex. On GYATT RIZ's talk page, do you think it's time to revoke TPA after this comment they made in response to your block? Let me know your thoughts and I'll try to respond back ASAP. Thanks. (please mention me on reply) NoobThreePointOh (talk) 10:28, 3 May 2024 (UTC)

@Suffusion of Yellow: For the life of me I do not remember what it was. I was doing many reversions of vandalism (it was a busy day). I just looked at the filters, and I do not see what I probably saw that day. Maybe it was a mistake? Nothing to undo now as the short block has already expired. -- Alexf(talk) 01:37, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
- Alright, made the edit for them. But I think that's a fairly stable IP, so might be a good idea to let them know it was a mistake. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 01:40, 16 May 2024 (UTC)

Blocking the /64
Hi Alexf. I've noticed that you seem to only block exact IPv6 addresses rather than a /64 range. I understand your reluctance to block IP ranges due to the risk of collateral damage, but the risk is much smaller than the risk of blocking any IPv4 range. Mathematically, blocking a /64 range covers an extremely tiny fraction of the IPv6 space, about 0.0000000000000000054%, which is infinitesimal compared to the 0.000000023% of IPv4 space covered by a single IPv4 address. While there are nuances in the math due to unaddressable sections in both IPv4 and IPv6 spaces, the substantial difference in size is real.
Because many modern devices frequently change the last part of the IPv6 address for privacy reasons, the most effective way to block IPv6 editors, particularly for blocks longer than several hours, is to block the /64 address. Please consider enabling the Twinkle option to default to blocking the /64. Just in case you haven't already seen it, there's also an essay on this topic at WP:/64. Regards. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 02:40, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Daniel Quinlan: Collateral damage is the issue, but I see your math point. Will look into it and start doing it every time. Thanks. -- Alexf(talk) 10:09, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
A7 in draft space?
Hi, looking at Wikipedia:Database reports/Possibly out-of-process deletions, I noticed you deleted Draft:Abhishek Soni with WP:A7. I thought notability/importance was only a criterion for articles, not drafts, did I misunderstand something? Thanks a lot! Chaotic Enby (talk · contribs) 23:53, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
- Ok. Maybe right. This was an editor writing about himself, to make a sort of CV or résumé. His edit comment was: "I have made edits in order to provide right information to everyone about me and my qualifications". Totally, and absolutely, non-notable. Maybe should've left it alone to be taking space in the server for a long time. -- Alexf(talk) 00:16, 1 June 2024 (UTC)

KK Vishnoi/Bishnoi
Hi, sorry to bother you, but as you were briefly involved earlier, I wondered if you could again take a look at something, please.
IIRC, KK Vishnoi was trying to create an autobio at User:KK Vishnoi/sandbox (and also at User:KK Vishnoi). When those were deleted, they went to the existing article KK Bishnoi and hijacked that by turning it into KK Vishnoi. Or so I at least thought at the time.
They've done it again today, and I reverted it and issued final warning. They then edited the article again, but this time only changed the DOB and changed the spelling of the name... and now I'm starting to doubt myself. Maybe this is a legitimate error-correction after all – I guess it's possible that a non-Latin script name could be alternatively rendered as Vishnoi or Bishnoi, ie. both could conceivably refer to the same person?
I can't remember the content of the deleted sandbox draft and user page, and obvs can't see them anymore. Could you please check them and see if you can work out whether this really is a hijack attempt or legit? (Obviously if it's the latter, I'll need to revert my final warning and apologise to this user!)
Many thanks, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:24, 25 August 2024 (UTC)
- @DoubleGrazing: The deleted article was about Krishan Kumar Bishnoi, Minister of Rajasthan. Spelling is different but could be the same guy. Article was deleted, because it was an advertisement piece, with no sources. The original block expired. I would follow and see what he does next. May require guidance, or outright advert/indef. -- Alexf(talk) 14:47, 25 August 2024 (UTC)
- Okay thanks, appreciate your quick reply. I won't hassle this user any more, then, AGF and all that, until they make it clearer what their intentions are. Might even ask them... :) Best, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:54, 25 August 2024 (UTC)
- I sort of forgot to keep an eye on this anyway, but I guess we no longer have to wonder whether it was a legit user, now that they've been done for socking: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/KK Vishnoi. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:58, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
Likely sock
Hi Alexf. I saw that you blocked Crest Casinot but I wonder if Mares Cristofer should be blocked too. The content of their sandboxes is/was identical. Shammi Jalandhari page
We need to create page “Shammi Jalandhari” which was deleted . What information and formalities required? Simonshammi (talk) 08:41, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry but I don't understand the request. Who is "we"? Why do you "need" a page created? There is no "need" to add pages to an encyclopedia. They are done when a subject is missing, and the subject meets the golden rule. If it was deleted, you have to check why. You have not provided a link to the article so it is hard to find with hundreds moving every minute. To see how Wikipedia works, you can read the help pages. If you have any questions about Wikipedia, please ask at the Tea House. -- Alexf(talk) 11:11, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
