APPEAL AGAINST BEING BLOCKED

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

AbrewaAccraLady (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Dear colleagues I visited the page Ghana Library Authority, in the hopes of adding a reference, as part of the African Librarians Week, which is being run by AfLIA and Wikimedia https://outreachdashboard.wmflabs.org/courses/AfLIA/African_Librarians_Week_(24-30_May_2020). This involves editing, and providing references to articles relevant to the African continent. I have visited this page before as it is relevant to what I do - I am a trained librarian based in Accra, Ghana. It is likely that I would be visiting this page again, and several others related to Ghana in the next few days. And I hope in the future, as I develop my skills in editing Wikipedia. At present I am working from home (my work institution is closed, as are all educational institutions here in Ghana) and using MTN Fibre Broadband from my home. At least right now I can confirm that the IP address is 154.160.14.116, and allocated to ISP Scancom [another name for MTN]. Please do help. I do not want to do anything illegal. Kind regards, Nina Chachu [that's my real name] AbrewaAccraLady (talk) 12:34, 26 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Accept reason:

I've given you IP block exemption for a month, which will allow you to edit from blocked IP addresses. If this happens again after a month, please make another request. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 21:17, 26 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Kintampo, Ghana, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mo. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Request to be unblocked

edit

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Request reason:

Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is 154.160.14.90. This IP comes from using MTN fibrebroadband in my home, in Accra, Ghana. This IP is allocated to Scancom Ltd, and no proxy is detected. I have been an editor (usually doing language/grammar edits mostly on articles concerning Ghana and related topics. I am a member of the Wikimedia Ghana User Group, and have contributed to articles on COVID-19 in Ghana, among others. I haven't done any editing in the last three months or so, due mainly to family reasons, but I had thought I could check out some of the articles on my watchlist, only to be blocked! :-( I edit under the username AbrewaAccraLady, though my real name is Nina Chachu, a full-time librarian at Ashesi University here in Ghana. Thanks for listening to me. Kind regards and stay safe AbrewaAccraLady (talk) 16:01, 30 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Accept reason:

Hi AbrewaAccraLady. The request above didn't work properly, since you forgot to add the closing '}}'. This is what it should have looked like. No matter. I've granted you block exemption for a year. If you still need it afterwards, just ask again. -- zzuuzz (talk) 19:38, 19 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thanks zzuuzz And my apologies for not closing! I have to admit that I am not very conversant in editing source, so I fully admit to that mistake. I am grateful also to colleagues in the Wikimedia Ghana User Group for their support, and of course, that you believed us. AbrewaAccraLady (talk) 19:56, 19 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Indeed, buy your colleague a beer should he want one. And none of us are perfect :) -- zzuuzz (talk) 20:09, 19 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:41, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
