FAC grammar review?

edit

Hi Eisfbnore, I just nominated VHEMT at FAC. I think we've gotten the grammar in good shape, but I'd love if you could take a look at it when you have time. Thanks, Mark Arsten (talk) 18:11, 5 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hey Mark, my plate is full at the moment, but I'd love to have a look at it when I have an uninterrupted chunk of time. Cheers, Eisfbnore talk 18:42, 5 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Sure, take your time. Mark Arsten (talk) 22:40, 5 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Spanish conquest of Guatemala FAC

edit

Hi Eisfbnore - many thanks for your review of Spanish conquest of Guatemala. The process is drawing on with only one reviewer committing themselves so far, so I would appreciate it if you could return to the review page. User:Malleus Fatuorum has pointed out to me that many reviewers will be discouraged by the length of the article... Best regards, Simon Burchell (talk) 08:37, 8 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I've gone ahead and supported it. I'll admit that there were parts of the article which I didn't review. And the length notwithstanding, it's a very user-friendly and accessible article. --Eisfbnore talk 08:51, 8 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Removal of Empire of Brazil task force

edit

I really hope you won't try to remove the Empire of Brazil task force from it's related articles' talk page again. --Lecen (talk) 21:05, 8 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Is that a threat? Actually, I didn't remove task force tags, only tags linking to the Former Countries Wikiproject. Get your facts straight. Eisfbnore talk 21:07, 8 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
The Empire of Brazil task force is part of the WikiProject Former countries and it was us who brought all those articles to FA standard. --Lecen (talk) 21:15, 8 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Ah. It would perhaps have been a good idea to mention that in the edit summaries rather than putting good-faith edits under the vandalism banner. Eisfbnore talk 21:19, 8 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Christian Friele

edit

I shall certainly review the article for GA if someone else doesn't get in first. Give me a couple of days, please, as I am a bit tied up just at the moment. Regards. Tim riley (talk) 19:56, 9 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

I am sorry to say that though I enjoyed the article, I could not pass it as it stands if I were to review it for GA. It is too unsubstantial; the lead is not comprehensive; several statements are speculative; there is quite a bit of editorial comment (e.g. "curtly stating"); statements are not followed up ("later would write a scornful play" but no details); and above all else there are only two paragraphs on Friele's productive career, and that, to my mind, falls well short of the GA standard for comprehensiveness. You may well disagree with me on some or all of these points, in which case you may prefer to await a GAN review by another editor, and I shall of course perfectly understand if you so opt. If, however, you want me to proceed, please let me know. My apologies for being a wet blanket! Tim riley (talk) 14:53, 10 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Phew! I'm so pleased I didn't offend you and we're still on friendly terms. Best of luck with the rewrite. Tim riley (talk) 16:59, 10 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:Hacker (computer security), is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 15:51, 12 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

a) don't template the regulars; b) the user is a sockpuppet of Sju hav. Eisfbnore talk 15:52, 12 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hi. a) Sorry for the template - I saw only a short Talk page history and thought you were new (I missed your move to archive page). b) You should really only remove edits by socks once they have been proved and blocked as socks, and I see no block, no "sock" tags, and no mention at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Sju hav/Archive. You may well be right, but we'd need more than just your assertion - I suggest a new SPI. c) You left no edit summary to say what you were doing. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 16:02, 12 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I should have left an edit summary. OTOH, I've gone slightly tired of the jejune SPI process, and at no point was I wrong in my assumptions of sockpuppetry. The user has exactly the same style of edits (note the erroneous use of spaced em-dashes instead of en-dashes in the edit summaries), so I really do think that WP:DUCK should apply. Eisfbnore talk 16:14, 12 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
OK, I'll have a look myself shortly and see if I can be confident enough for a duck block. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 16:16, 12 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Peer Review?

edit

Hi Eisfbnore, I was wondering if you could take a look at Elias Abraham Rosenberg and possibly weigh in at a peer review that I have open? It's only 1500 words or so, should be a quick read. I'm just about ready to nominate it at FAC and I wanted to get another look at the prose. No problem if you're busy though, Mark Arsten (talk) 17:41, 17 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Well done, Mark: it's of your usual high quality. I left a few comments. Eisfbnore (下さいて話し) 21:39, 17 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the compliment! I really appreciate your willingness to help and your sense of humor :) Mark Arsten (talk) 23:53, 18 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your review at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Georg Solti/archive1. Moss Jernverk

Hi, I have started to translate the article about Moss Jernverk, any help in correcting my mistakes would be much welcome, both regarding proofreading and formatting. Best regards, Ulflarsen (talk) 15:28, 28 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hey Ulf Larsen! Hope you're well. Please let me know when you consider yourself finished. --Eisfbnore (下さいて話し) 15:30, 28 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
It will take some time, but if you could have a look at the reference section and see if you can add the correct heading for notes that would be good, as I do not know what is used for it here on English language version of Wikipedia. Best regards, Ulflarsen (talk) 11:50, 29 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Disregard the above message, I managed. Best regards, Ulflarsen (talk) 12:23, 29 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Anyhow, I performed a very light copy-edit to the interesting article & hope you're satisfied—if not, then please revert. Our own article on English grammar, albeit descriptive, gives quite decent advice on the use of sentence-level grammar in this beautiful language. Cheers. Eisfbnore (下さいて話し) 19:30, 29 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hi, no problem with any copy-edit, I am not that good in English and my aim is to have the whole article rudely translated into English, then hopefully others will help me out with it, and the article will also be translated into other languages. It is already fully translated into Swedish and Russian and Estonian has started. Best regards, Ulflarsen (talk) 13:10, 30 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hey, no big deal and anytime! Your English is actually very good; you only need to work a bit on the grammar, esp. verb conjugations and parallelisms. The morphology of Modern English is fairly simple (can't really say that about this one), albeit irregular and inflexible. If you'd like to improve your written English, I would recommend these webpages/books:
  • Language and Communication by Per Lysvåg (ISBN 978-82-03-33711-6, 2008); it is directed at Norwegian Upper Secondary schools, but it gives some very useful advise on the syntax, grammar and vocabulary of the English language. See its entry at Tanum; he has written quite a few books on English grammar, though I have only read Language and Communication.
  • User:Tony1's exercises on good writing, esp. User:Tony1/How to improve your writing and User:Tony1/Noun plus -ing.
  • The Internet Grammar of English – it assumes no prior knowledge of (English) grammar, and is very accessible.
  • English Grammar at Wikibooks; extremely lay-friendly.
Hope this helps, Eisfbnore (下さいて話し) 15:18, 30 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hi, thanks for help and advice, I'll keep the links and probably buy the book. Best regards, Ulflarsen (talk) 11:09, 31 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
You're very welcome. The English grammar books by Lysvåg are definitely somewhat pricey, but they give invaluable guidance into the realm of English grammar for those (like you) who already possess a good knowledge of Norwegian grammar. Please, let me know if I can help you with anything else. Eisfbnore (下さいて話し) 12:00, 31 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
PS: It seems like some of Lysvåg's books are available for loan at Deichman. Eisfbnore (下さいて話し) 12:01, 31 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

The new additions look good; just tell me when you consider yourself finished and I'll dip my toe into it. Thanks, btw, for the interesting article; I wish that there would be more Norwegian editors writing on the Anglophone Wikipedia. Eisfbnore (下さいて話し) 18:17, 8 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

I have now translated the whole of the article into English, help with proofreading is much appreciated. Best regards Ulflarsen (talk) 12:22, 23 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hey again! Glad to see you're done. I am, regrettably and lamentably, in the midst of my exams and have very little time for WP editing. I hope I'll get around to do some copy-editing in June, though. Eisfbnore (下さいて話し) 07:28, 31 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

I laughed aloud at your subtle addition to the William Walton talk page. It is remarkable how some people think they have a monopoly of wisdom in the face of a consensus to the contrary. I have just run across another at Talk:Piano music of Gabriel Fauré: all the peer reviewers and FAC scrutineers must have been completely wrong. Heigh ho!

I am working (in my sandbox at the moment) on the main Gabriel Fauré article, with a view to getting it to FA standard. At the appropriate stage might you be willing to do a source review? A tedious and time-consuming task, I know, but I'd be grateful if you had time and inclination. Tim riley (talk) 14:43, 31 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Heh, reminds me of Ibsen's quote "A minority may be right, and a majority is always wrong". I'm looking forward to do a source review for Monteux, and will of course do the same for Fauré. Perhaps you could return the favour and GA review Halvdan Koht for us northerners (me, Geschichte, Manxruler and Oceanh? It is of course a bit long, but also very interesting for an Anglophone reader (perhaps more so for the Americans though). Best wishes. Eisfbnore (下さいて話し) 14:57, 31 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
I shall review Halvdan Koht forthwith. Previous GA reviews I've done have taken me 24 hours or so to get to first comments on the review page, so tune in tomorrow at this time! Tim riley (talk) 15:07, 31 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
After first quick read-through: it's mostly in British spelling, but a few American spellings have crept in. Shall I just change the US ones to UK spellings without further comment? I can do that without disqualifying myself as GA reviewer. Tim riley (talk) 15:23, 31 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
I raised the same issue at Geschichte's talk page, but he has yet to respond. I think that owing to Koht's connection with the US, AmEng would be more reasonable. Eisfbnore (下さいて話し) 15:26, 31 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Fine. I'll deal with it. More tomorrow. 15:30, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

Halvdan Koht

edit

Having read the article I wonder if I might suggest that you allow me to copy edit it in advance of a GA review by someone else? It is a superb piece of work considering that you wrote it in a language not your own, but there are numerous turns of phrase that look strange to the native speaker, and momentarily distract one from the narrative. Once these are ironed out I think it should be fine at GAN. Tim riley (talk) 10:18, 2 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

'Twas Geschichte who wrote it; I've merely been doing some small copy-editing to it. I think he'll be more than happy to have a native English speaker's language polishing on it though. I'll drop him a note. --Eisfbnore (下さいて話し) 11:16, 2 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
It would be splendid, Tim. Geschichte (talk) 14:00, 2 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Subjunctive in Dutch

edit

I have reverted your reversion to this article because, to quote an earlier comment here, there are numerous turns of phrase that look strange to the native speaker. Ehrenkater (talk) 23:06, 11 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Oh come on, you can't really say that with a straight face, can you?! The English grammar of your revision was so atrocious that it almost made me laugh. "In contemporary Dutch, a wide range of fixed expressions make use of the conjunctive exist." Can't you see how ungrammatical that is? --Eisfbnore (下さいて話し) 06:32, 12 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
That looks more like a slip than poor language possession. Surely you wouldn't hold a doublet (and and) against someone as evidence of deficient language skills? (Just making a comment, I haven't evaluated any of the edits you are discussing.) __meco (talk) 06:46, 12 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Aside from that one slip-up, Ehrenkater's changes were very much improvements to the prose. Cheers, Auree 08:42, 13 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Due to

Hi Eisfbnore, I seem to recall that you mentioned it was a bad idea to start a sentence with "Due to..." a month or two back, am I remembering correctly? Mark Arsten (talk) 19:53, 27 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hey Mark! Hope all is well. Yes, you do recall correctly: 'Due to' is adjectival and modifies a noun through a conjugated form of 'to be', whilst 'owing to' modifies all other verbs. Hence, 'due to' needs a noun antecedent and can therefore not start a sentence. This website rocks da house. Sorry for the late reply. --Eisfbnore (下さいて話し) 10:09, 2 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Latin

edit

What's with the horizontal bars over vowels? We didn't have them when I did Latin at school, though that was nearly fifty years ago. If you move on to ancient Greek I don't think we did accents there, though we did rough and smooth breathings. Your willingness to master languages fills me with admiration. Tim riley (talk) 20:21, 7 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

I guess the horizontal bars are there to indicate that the vowels are long. I am currently learning Latin from a 1915 Norwegian textbook, and it features the bars, so I think it's rather a question of different schools of Latin than time frames. The bars can be quite vital: note the difference between ēst (he/she/it eats) and est (he/she/it is) or between mālum (an apple) and malum (an evil). You'll find the bars at wiktionary (though not in the titles). --Eisfbnore (下さいて話し) 07:28, 10 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Dear me! You sweep me back through the decades to Latin lessons:
Malo – I would rather be
Malo – In an apple tree
Malo – Than a naughty boy
Malo – In adversity
Used by Benjamin Britten in The Turn of the Screw (1954), so perhaps my Latin beaks got it from Britten rather than Ovid or Horace. Tim riley (talk) 16:55, 10 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

If you have been here for seven years, I am curious to know why you would think it necessary to template a regular. Also, why art thou not more appreciative of my efforts to keep Wikipedia free for POV-pushing? This person has been trashing Norwegian BLPs with criticism sections, malformed citations and atrociously poor grammar for the last two years. See Harald Sunde (general) for an example. I am getting slightly tired of this incessant combat against this sock farm, and even more tired of having to explain it to every single ignorant templater. When I get ANI'ed for doing this service I feel, quite frankly, rather disenchanted. --Eisfbnore (下さいて話し) 15:10, 14 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
For someone who knows enough to whinge about templating the regulars -- but not enough to read the added comments at the end of the message -- you seem woefully uninformed about some basic policies, such not screwing around with other people's comments without a good reason -- and "because I said so" ain't it -- and WP:NPA -- attacking someone who was helping you earlier with your snipe hunt, as User:meco was doing, just because they decided they needed evidence and all that other stuff? And if anyone is "ignorant", it might be due to your unwillingness -- or inability -- to do more than wave your hands about and sputter when asked for actual reasons. The SPI came up empty: if you want to explain what actual knowledge you have -- and, again, "because I said so" ain't it -- give it a shot. --Calton | Talk 23:23, 15 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Why are you feeding the trolls? I have no idea as to why the SPI came up empty, but I can bet my house on that No parking here is a sock of Sju hav. The exactly same editing type: immediately after creating an account they start littering Norwegian BLPs with criticism sections and other manure. Just look at how hideous the bio for the Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jonas Gahr Støre, looks after the editing sessions of the Sju hav socks.

If you take a look at the history of WT:NORWAY, you'll perhaps see why there is good reason to remove the trolling from the Sju hav socks. They have been spamming said talk page with their agenda against the Norwegian government. Take a look at this. With the help of meco,[1][2][3] they have been turning WT:NORWAY into a soapbox of grievances against the Norwegian government.

Rather than shooting the messenger – which you are currently doing – you should be more worried about the integrity of Wikipedia. Methinks you are a very poor Wikipedia editor, if you think it is more important to let trolls junk vital BLPs than to promote the NPOV ideal of Wikipedia.

Also, having had a look at your block log, I don't think you are the right person to ululate about personal attacks. Eisfbnore (下さいて話し) 08:37, 16 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Kvarstadbåtene

edit

Hi, I have started on another project, the Swedish language version of Wikipedia has an extensive article about Kvarstadbåtene, which covers a very interesting section of war-time history of both Sweden, Norway and the UK. I wrote the original article about the ships in the Norwegian language version of Wikipedia, but as the current Swedish is much better I have started to translate it all into Norwegian.

It should however also be translated into the English language version of Wikipedia, is that something that could be of interest for you? If not, if I do the translation, could I at least count on you to proofread it? BR - Ulflarsen (talk) 09:17, 17 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. I'll be finished with my exams this week, so the time should not be that a big problem. Alas, I'm not that into military history (the medals given to me by the milhist folks are solely due to my performing source reviews or very simple style & grammar checks, nothing else), so I don't think I'll have the inclination to translate it. Sorry. I shall of course copy-edit it, if you are willing to translate it. Best wishes. Eisfbnore (下さいて話し) 19:41, 18 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Ok - no problem, I will then coordinate the version in Bokmål/Riksmål with the version in Swedish before I start translating it into English, will probably take a couple of weeks before I am about to start the translation. Infobox RfC

edit

Hi Eisfbnore, I wonder if I could ask for your comment on a debate about an infobox that is taking place at Talk:Peter Sellers#RfC: Is infobox recommended for this bio? There seems to be a feeling among some of the article's editors that the full life of a rather complicated individual can be condensed into a few short lines in a box. Could I please impose and ask for your view? If you have the time it would be much appreciated; it's not a problem if not. Many thanks – SchroCat (^@) 22:41, 20 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Stop breaking things please

edit

As a user of the secure server, I ask you to stop breaking diff hyperlinks that are correctly fixed so that they do not take me and others like me to an insecure place. You are over-policing the idea of talk page comments being sacrosanct to an absurd and quite wrong degree. Wikignomes fix diff and oldid links, external links that should have been internal links, and absolute hyperlinks that should be relative and protocol-preserving hyperlinks, all of the time. Such things are not sacrosanct, and do not change meaning one whit. This is a wiki, and refactoring talk pages to fix markup and hyperlinks is the norm on wikis and has been all of these years. Uncle G (talk) 09:44, 12 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Duly noted. I was tempted to remove the bolding from the above, lest it look like shouting, but then I'm not going to be hypocritical. --Eisfbnore (下さいて話し) 16:42, 12 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Your signature

edit

Hi, Eisfbnore. I noticed that the Japanese characters in your signature "下さいて話し" doesn't make sense. Are you intended to use "話して下さい" (Please talk)? User:The Blade of the Northern Lights's signature is "The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい)". Cheers. ―― Phoenix7777 (talk) 12:31, 14 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Gee whiz, is my Japanese that rusty? :S Thanks for the tip, but I'm hesitant to plagiarise Blade's sig. Do you have any alternatives that could express my garrulity in Japanese? :P --Eisfbnore (下さいて話し) 11:25, 15 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I don't have any good alternative idea. I think "話して下さい" is a good candidate and a honorific version "お話し下さい" can also be used. The default signature of Japanese Wikipedia is "ユーザー(会話)" in Japanese Wikipedia. So, "Eisfbnore (会話)"is one of the basic alternatives.[4] If you are not willing to use the same word as Blade's signature, I would recommend to use "お話し下さい". ―― Phoenix7777 (talk) 10:26, 16 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Bruno Spoerri

edit

The article Bruno Spoerri has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Too few sources are available for an article of substance.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Wow, that's very kind of you. I didn't even plan on re-joining WP (I left this place almost seven years ago, and have only checked in very rarely). Your Holocaust in Slovakia article is looking damn fine, and I hope it passes. I find it strange that there is no entry in the Slovak WP on the subject. However, in my native WP, the corresponding article was promoted to GA couple years ago. I can ask the main writer if he'd be willing to take a look at our article here. He is very knowledgeable about this ugly chapter of 20th-century history, and he seems to be working towards a Featured Topic. Stay vigilant, and stay indoors! Eisfbnore (会話) 08:52, 18 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
That was a good catch re Katyn, Buidhe. It set off several "truther" bells in my ears (complete with 'official version' and everything) though. It could be mentioned in our article, as long it's not given undue weight. Even if it is PRIMARY and POV, it's still from a respected publication… Eisfbnore (会話) 19:33, 20 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
I don't think it's a reliable source actually: the author (Grover Furr) claims that he cannot find even one crime that Stalin committed.[5] Just because it's published in a supposedly peer reviewed academic journal doesn't necessarily make it WP:RS or WP:DUE. buidhe 19:48, 20 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Resurrection of Late Spring

edit

I'm absolutely thrilled that you took the time and trouble to restore my work on the article about Yasujiro Ozu's masterpiece Late Spring. As you can see, in my original version, I included at least one source for practically every single statement I made in the piece, including facts that were not in dispute, so I had no idea why the other editor eviscerated the article on the grounds that it was "original research"!!!

At the time, I was not up to fighting with the editor who took a meat cleaver to it, feeling that he would only reverse my changes if I tried. I am so glad that you, as a third party, took my side! I'm particularly glad that you restored the following: a) the brief background on Kogo Noda and Setsuko Hara, whose contributions as writer and actress, respectively, were absolutely crucial to the film; b) the background information on the shomingeki genre, which is crucial to understanding the tradition in which the film is situated, and c) the passage on style, particularly the section about the vase scene, which is one of the most hotly debated (and mysterious) passages in all Japanese cinema.

Thank you again for bringing my article back from the dead!

Dylanexpert (talk) 21:22, 3 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

You're very welcome. Thanks for writing this article – I truly haven't seen anything like it elsewhere on Wikipedia. I'd love to write more on Japanese cinema myself, but time does not permit it at the moment. Best, Eisfbnore (会話) 09:50, 4 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Warning

edit

Please don't misuse WP:NONAZIS — that constitutes an egregious personal attack subject to immediate sanctions whose severity cannot be understated. Also, please do not, by extension, cast aspersions about an editor's connection to any given subject. This should be taken as final warning. Thank you. El_C 12:30, 7 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

@El C: I was about to either write a non-template warning to this user myself or complain to you, as they are semi-inactive. Their other usage of "tankie" that I can find so far is almost as egregious given that it was Benny White, who seems to edit mostly on non-political topics, who modified the opening wording. CaradhrasAiguo (leave language) 12:36, 7 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Casting aspersions, pfft. I'm being threatened by tankie edgelords who can't stand having our article on the Uyghur genocide appear under the title "Uyghur genocide". How quaint. Shouldn't we call a call a spade a spade and a tankie a tankie? You have put a fawning adulation of the genocidal maniac Lenin on your userpage, but go off. In the move discussion Caradhras also made a gross BLP violation by calling the lived experience of a concentration camp survivor a "farcical story". Wikipedia does not profit from this type of extremism. Eisfbnore (会話) 18:10, 7 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I have been banned by a sysop who has a dog in this fight and has paid tribute to dictators (Lenin) and war criminals (Che Guevara) on their userpage. Such an editor shouldn't have been an admin in the first place, since they frequently do blocks on request from fellow partisans. (see most recently User_talk:El_C#"Tankies"). They are also involved in some olympic-level gaslighting by asserting that I "cast aspertions" when all I have done is point to the stuff they themselves have put on their userpage. They have also yet to defend the BLP breach by Caradhras. Farcical, indeed. Eisfbnore (会話) 19:03, 7 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Your entire appeal is a personal attack. You have one more shot at posting a GAB-compliant appeal; if your next appeal reads like this one, your talk page access will be revoked. Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 19:14, 7 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I take an exception to the aspersion that I, by virtue of being upfront about my biases, act in a partisan way, or that I "frequently" block on request. Of course, there is no evidence to accompany that ludicrous attack because it is plainly false. El_C 19:43, 7 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
