Placenames
editI think you may have missed my edit summary. We don't put the full address into the infobox, because infoboxes should be simple and succinct. If the placename is unambiguous and the country obvious, it is generally unnecessary to add anything further. Thanks. DrKay (talk) 08:58, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
Adding links to commonly known words like "actress", or countries and nationalities, is also unnecessary. Please read MOS:OL. – 2.O.Boxing 09:30, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- I’ve come here to say the same thing. Please stop doing this. I’ve reverted two of these now and it looks like you’re doing them en masse. DeCausa (talk) 09:46, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- You don't need to link well-known cites and countries as you did here. Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 09:56, 18 April 2021 (UTC)

editPlease refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Please note that it is disruptive to continue with a series of edits after being asked to stop. DrKay (talk) 10:00, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Timothy Laurence, you may be blocked from editing. You've been explicitly asked not to link countries or extend placenames into redundant, address-like phrases, but you are continuing to do so: [1]. DrKay (talk) 10:07, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you make disruptive edits to Wikipedia contrary to the Manual of Style, as you did at Edward VII. Literally immediately after several warnings and reverts, you are continuing to perform the same edits, e.g. [2] DrKay (talk) 10:10, 18 April 2021 (UTC)

Request reason:
It’s my first time actively contributing. I was unaware that adding links to many countries, cities, states, and so on in a row is considered a violation.CyberSecurityGuy (talk) 10:21, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
Accept reason:
I think that you merit a second chance; please just be aware of this page and listen to others. 331dot (talk) 15:02, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
CyberSecurityGuy (talk) 10:21, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
I think it's worth noting that CyberSecurityGuy edits from a mobile device, and possibly did not see the notifications from the reverts and talkpage comments. – 2.O.Boxing 11:18, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- CyberSecurityGuy, the mobile version and app do not have full editing functionality(it's harder to see user talk page messages, for one). It may be easier in that respect to use the full desktop version in a browser on your device(scroll to the bottom and click "desktop" when in a browser). Will you abide by the messages given to you here and be more diligent in observing this page? 331dot (talk) 12:51, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
You are correct, I edit from the mobile app and didn’t see the notifications at all. I will abide by the rules but would like a link to them so I can learn what the rules are. CyberSecurityGuy (talk) 14:12, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- "The rules" covers a lot of ground(I don't know them all off the top of my head, and I've been here years) and you don't need to know every rule; but the most fundamental principles are the Five Pillars. If you review the links in the posts on this page, and are willing to listen to others, that will get you started. I'm not sure if it works on the app but there is a new user tutorial that is helpful. 331dot (talk) 15:02, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- CyberSecurityGuy, one tip is to try some edits a bit at a time and see what the reaction is. Don’t do too many of the same type at any one time. If they get reverted, check the edit summaries of the reverts to see why they were reverted. Most people in the early days pick up the ‘rules’ gradually bit by bit like this. If you’re focussed on sorting out format, grammar, generally cleaning-up then the main starting point to be familiar with is Wikipedia:Manual of Style. If you want to create content then the key things to be familiar with are: WP:V, WP:OR, WP:NPOV, WP:BLP and WP:RS. there’s a lot more but that will get you started. DeCausa (talk) 16:17, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
Okay. So, may I please be unblocked since it was an honest mistake and I submitted a formal request? CyberSecurityGuy (talk) 19:40, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- As noted above, the block was removed. 331dot (talk) 21:18, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
I’m very new to the “back-end” of Wikipedia. I believe you but I want to learn where it shows that, for future reference. Everything looks confusing. 😂 CyberSecurityGuy (talk) 21:42, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- It's in the log here. 331dot (talk) 21:51, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
Okay. Thank you, again. I’m very sorry. I would’ve stopped editing after the first warning if I had seen it. The only way I found out I was blocked in the first place is I was editing another page and it said I was blocked when I tried to save. CyberSecurityGuy (talk) 21:55, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- hi. Here’s another tip: when you reply on talk pages you indent from the post your replying to. It’s explained here: wikipedia:Indentation. Enjoy editing! DeCausa (talk) 22:03, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
Title
editI don't know if this has been proposed before but I'd like to suggest to change the title from United States to United States of America. CyberSecurityGuy (talk) 14:50, 23 December 2021 (UTC)

editHello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to I Never Liked You (album), did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. -- NotCharizard 🗨 04:52, 1 May 2022 (UTC)
One link per line on disambiguation pages
editPlease see WP:DABSTYLE: we do not put more than one link per line on disambiguation pages, so please don't "add links" repeatedly to them. Thank you. Ss112 19:20, 15 August 2022 (UTC)
Continued disruptive editing
editYou may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia. [3] --Hipal (talk) 00:29, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
- I don’t think this is fair to be threatened in this way since I asked almost 2 years ago (09/30/2021) in the talk section of the USA Today article if it’s a reliable source (my username at the time was CyberSecurityGuy) and nobody responded. GamerKlim9716 (talk) 00:35, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
- Could you explain why "added links" is an appropriate edit summary for what you changed? --Hipal (talk) 02:19, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
- Never mind. I don’t know much about editing so I thought you typed “ You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia.”. I didn’t realize it was a template/automated message. GamerKlim9716 (talk) 02:45, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
- Sorry you got no response from your talk page question. Better to check WP:RSP and WP:RSN. My take from the many discussions is that it's of questionable reliability and carries little or no weight on its own. It should not be used to outright replace clearly superior sources. --Hipal (talk) 04:44, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message
editHello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}

editHello, I'm Seasider53. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to One City Center (Maine) have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you.
