Two things
First off you were just in the wrong again as you did not notify me of this as is proper. Second as I pointed out there I will direct you to here and ask you to remove the ANI report and talk to my adopter, User:Worm That Turned, as my conditions suggest and who I have currently been talking to about the situation and he can explain this to you as well. Swifty*talk 08:41, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry for not notifying you. You putting up the retired sign and Worm threatening a block caught me off guard. I was not aware of any conditions. It is not available from your user page or talk page. How would I know you had conditions? As it appears you used a sockpuppet to do a 8RR, I will keep the ANI up. I'll leave it up to Worm if it should be removed or not. Also, from your behavior on Drmies talk page and the edit summary of the article, please don't interact with me here. If you have words to say about the article, leave it at Drmies talk page. I'd rather not talk about your behavior or anything else except the article. Bgwhite (talk) 08:55, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
The article Jimmy Dee has been proposed for deletion. The proposed-deletion notice added to the article should explain why.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. nested
I think now we have this bug [1]. -- Magioladitis (talk) 22:38, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
- If nested is at the end, it will leave a "|". If it is anywhere else, it is fine. I specifically added a "|" to the code because it was dropping a |... works ok unless it is at the end. Let me figure out the regex and see why it isn't doing the | properly in the first place. Bgwhite (talk) 22:54, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
- Ok, I just updated the code with new regex for removing nested. Works no matter where nested is at. Bgwhite (talk) 23:14, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
Kathiramangalam Vana Durga
The article is badly created! Reasons below:
- Kathiramangalam is a vilage i Tamil Nadu. The article title is about a deity of this village Vana Durga means "forest goddess",
- But, the article is about the place and not the deity (how to reach there, attractions of the place etc. Moreover it is written like a Wikitravel entry.
- Google Books, my reliable reference source is not helping me very much
- I have fund few sources in Google, mostly not reliable!
I can start copyediting, but it'll be helpful, how should I go ahead Shall I make it an article on deity/temple/place? If you think the article should be on the temple (I think the creator has tried to do so), then a rename is necessary, I think Kathiramangalam Vana Durga → Kathiramangalam Vana Durga Temple. I am starting copyediting without changing anything (title etc) now! --Tito Dutta ✉ 07:00, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hmmm, as an article about the village already exists and not much is found about the deity, I guess merge what you can into the village article and do a redirect. Thank you for taking a look at it for me. Bgwhite (talk) 07:04, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

There is a discussion on the Project College Football talk page regarding the overview maps that are used in the InfoBoxes of college athletic conference pages. Any News of BGWhite?
BGWhite's last edit was on 20 July– today is 2 Aug (almost). Does anyone know any news why BGWhite is not available these days? --Tito Dutta ✉ 22:35, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
- I've been wondering too. I figured maybe he's on vacation, and I was going to give him two weeks before panicking, but that's almost here. (Incidentally, there are over 49,000 listasless biography articles.) MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 02:23, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
- I dunno either. Do you all have some logic that you use to add listas? I am currently doing a lot of assessment work with WPUS and supported projects and I can incorporate that into my editing if it would help out any? Kumioko (talk) 02:39, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
- I'm back. 4-day planned break and then health issues with my family and wife's family. I can get off work whenever, so I'm the one that takes care of family members when something major strikes. I didn't spend too much time at home and usually slept elsewhere.
- Kumioko, I have a bot that does listas. However, the "weird" names have to be done manually. By weird, I mean Asian, Arabic, Spanish names with more than two names, British peers, particles (van, de, di, ver, etc) and miscellaneous. I usually clear out a letter manually and run the bot. Then rinse and repeat on the next letter. I have started with the A's. I hate A's because of the amount of Arabic and old Jewish names. I shudder on the thought of M's because of alllll the various spellings of Muhammad. Also have to fix DEFAULTSORT on alot of these "weird" name.
- Toolserver is still not working right. The replication lag is over 300 hours. Toolserver has been down since July 2nd. So, MZMcbride's bot is not adding WP Biography to new articles. That frees up a few hours a day I don't have to do my daily routine on. But, that means Magdolitis will have to run his bot again to add WP Biography to all the new articles. Roughly ~150 new biography articles are created daily, but with the Olympics running, the number is probably higher.
- If anybody would like to help on the weird names, it would be very much appreciated. Do the ones you know and I can pick up any stragglers. I see some new weird names come in that I have to get, but I left off at names starting with Alf (Alfonso, Alfred). Bgwhite (talk) 07:29, 2 August 2012 (UTC)

Page Triage newsletter
Hey all. Some quick but important updates on what we've been up to and what's coming up next :).
The curation toolbar, our Wikimedia-supported twinkle replacement. We're going to be deploying it, along with a pile of bugfixes, to wikipedia on 9 August. After a few days to check it doesn't make anything explode or die, we'll be sticking up a big notice and sending out an additional newsletter inviting people to test it out and give us feedback :). This will be followed by two office hours sessions - one on Tuesday the 14th of August at 19:00 UTC for all us Europeans, and one on Wednesday the 15th at 23:00 UTC for the East Coasters out there :). As always, these will be held in #wikimedia-office; drop me a note if you want to know how to easily get on IRC, or if you aren't able to attend but would like the logs.
I hope to see a lot of you there; it's going to be a big day for everyone involved, I think :). I'll have more notes after the deployment! Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 19:56, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

- Yea, I have to run thru the list manually first. AWB still doesn't get alot of names right, Muslum and various Asian names for example. I'll be running the bot on the first ~1,200 tonight as I've got to make my second manual pass. I haven't fully come back to Wikipedia yet, so things are a little slow on my end. Monday is my first full "normal" day in awhile. Bgwhite (talk) 05:14, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
Daniel Dunklin
RE: Daniel Dunklin
I'd ask that you reconsider your recent addition of information to the Dunklin Wiki -- that of Gov. Boggs extermination order -- on the grounds of relevance to the remainder of the article. I already provided two links in that "Mormon problem" subsection directing readers to other articles that might better explore the issue in depth. The section was meant to address only Dunklin's role in the situation. To drag Boggs and his actions into it after Dunklin had left office seems "off topic". When I rewrote and expanded the article I had to remove some serious "spin" and unsourced WP:POV / neutrality problems laying major blame on Dunklin. Even though your addition was sourced I still fear that some of that may be creeping back in. Thanks & have a great Wiki kind of day! Sector001 (talk) 18:34, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
- How about removing the quote of the extermination order. It would be nice to say the "problem" "resolved" itself with Dunklin's successor. If the resolution happened later, then not saying how it resolved would be just fine. Bgwhite (talk) 20:18, 5 August 2012 (UTC)

Regarding your recent message
Hi there!
Regarding the recent message left on my talk page, I believe there may be a slight misunderstanding regarding my application of the template "Wikify" template to the articles Lucas Patinho and Ottoman legislative election, 1912, as well as others.
In regards to the latter article, the "Wikify" tag was perfectly appropriate - as the article is about an election, the inclusion of an infobox or the like would be a proper addition. Regarding the former, when I examined the article I noticed that there were only two sources; in my personal opinion, there should be more than that on a BLP.
Nonetheless, as a relatively new editor I will admit that I may have been a little overzealous on the tagging, and I'll try to cut back in the future. I've restored the "wikify" tag on the Ottoman legislative election, 1912 article (again, infobox), but left the others standing.
As for the "orphan" tag, that was my bad. Total oops on my part, so nice catch.
Cheers, Zaldax (talk) 21:59, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, I didn't realize that change had been made to the Wikify tag, thanks for pointing that out! As for the footballer, I've noticed a lot of other articles are the same way, and personally I think those should probably be changed as well. However, since I don't particularly want to spend hours searching for links about various foreign players, I think I'm just going to drop it there. Anyway, thanks for you help; I appreciate the notice! Cheers, Zaldax (talk) 22:23, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the link; I'm checking it out now. Cheers, Zaldax (talk) 22:48, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
New Pages newsletter
Hey all :)
A couple of new things.
First, you'll note that all the project titles have now changed to the Page Curation prefix, rather than having the New Pages Feed prefix. This is because the overarching project name has changed to Page Curation; the feed is still known as New Pages Feed, and the Curation Toolbar is still the Curation Toolbar. Hopefully this will be the last namechange ;p.
On the subject of the Curation Toolbar (nice segue, Oliver!) - it's now deployed on Wikipedia. Just open up any article in the New Pages Feed and it should appear on the right. It's still a beta version - bugs are expected - and we've got a lot more work to do. But if you see something going wrong, or a feature missing, drop me a note or post on the project talkpage and I'll be happy to help :). We'll be holding two office hours sessions to discuss the tool and improvements to it; the first is at 19:00 UTC on 14 August, and the second at 23:00 on the 15th. Both will be in #wikimedia-office as always. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 16:00, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
Fixing priority
For priority parameter I have made this script User:Yobot/Task 17. Is this the one you are using? It still needs some improvements. -- Magioladitis (talk) 08:54, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, I am using the task 17 code for fixing the priority parameter. I also use the code everyday as it fills in the listas parameter and corrects other mistakes. For any talk page, I use your task 17 code along with the WikiProjects code.
- I run the priority parameter stuff manually as there are usually not very many pages. Category:Biography articles needing priority parameter replacement contains a listing. Normally under 10 a week comes along, unless some people do not know about priority being replaced and start tagging talk pages. Lately, that has been happening alot. Unfortunately, I picked this up when JimCubb got sick. I fear the worst for him. He was a mentor of mine. Bgwhite (talk) 06:50, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, I fixed thousands a year ago. JimmCubb fixed a lot manually and I hope the best for him. I would like to create automatic tools so people won't have to waste so much time in the future doing this kind of things. -- Magioladitis (talk) 09:42, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

Michelin Stars
Hi Bgwhite! I'm just a big curious, what did you mean in this edit summary. Ryan Vesey 21:11, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
- Chefs do no win Michelin Awards. Restaurants are awarded the award. Amongst the criteria for a Michelin Award is service, decor and wine. A chef is never a Michelin award winner. See Michelin_star#Michelin_stars_and_other_ratings. Bgwhite (talk) 21:15, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
- I understood that :) I was just curious as to why it was in the edit summary for an edit to Neil Marchington. Ryan Vesey 21:17, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
- Ah crap. The previous article I did was about a chef and I forgot to change the edit summary for the next article. I often make that mistake when doing an unique edit summary and not one of the default ones I've got in AWB. My mistake. Bgwhite (talk) 21:20, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, haha, that was funny. Simple mistake no harm done. Ryan Vesey 21:23, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, I'm Mandarax. (Hehe.) That kind of thing used to happen to me, which is why I requested a feature to prevent it. But then I requested a better feature which would solve the problem, and it has been implemented. And it's great! Now, such edit summary editing should be done to the edit summary in the Edit summary tab. In case you weren't aware, it now also does not clear the summary of things such as typos or summaries supplied by modules after you perform manual edits. MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 09:56, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
- Well, now after I've typed all of that, I realized that you probably did not forget to change the edit summary. It was likely a sticky summary per a "bug/feature" that's been fixed in the next snapshot, which I see is now available, but I haven't gotten yet.... MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 10:06, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
- My naturally curious nature impelled me to go check. I've confirmed that my guess above was correct. Per the bug listed above, the edit for which you intended to have that summary in fact did not. MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 11:02, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

Mike "2of5" Martin
Hi I have permission from Mike to create his page on his behalf. I am acquainted with him and there is proof of this in the 3rd picture on his page as It's my picture with him, the rest of Agent Cooper, Tony MacAlpine & Daniel Pique from earlier this year when they were on tour. The info I used for his page, we agreed on and I was given permission to use. (Proof of this is on Twitter). I am new to creating pages on Wikipedia and did so under guidance of a friend who has more experience in page creation. LinnieKing (talk) 21:12, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
- You have two choices:
- 1) Use the email address permissions-en@wikimedia.org to have proof that Mike has given permission. This will probably need to come from Mike himself. Some information, but not alot, can be found at Wikipedia:OTRS_noticeboard. The photo will have to go thru Commons OTRS.
- 2) The better route is to do the article in your own words.
- Either route, there will have to be more references. The references have to come from independent and reliable references. For example, twitter cannot be used as the information is not independent from Mike.
- I turn to User talk:Werldwayd for information relating to musicians. He is really good at finding references, giving advice or anything else musician related. It is his specialty. Of course, you are more than welcome to ask any questions of me. Bgwhite (talk) 21:25, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
- I would be willing to help you with the page Mike "2of5" Martin and see how it can be improved with references etc. Again thanks to Bgwhite for his trust. I really enjoy reviewing such pages to save articles that can be saved, as a member of Wikipedia:Article Rescue Squadron. werldwayd (talk) 21:58, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
- I tried quickly to amend the situation on this article, and made quite extensive edits actually, but another colleague clearly impatient with any improvements deleted the materials. I had made quite a lot of improvement and cut off the obvious fluff, citing the original issues of copyright infringement by contributor and his note that it was allowwed by the author. Sorry but it is completely out of my hands now after deletion by another colleague and I don't want to argue further on this. You know I tried though.... Anyway my policy is try once (and only once) and then drop it and move on. No one single article however essential is worth making a fuss about. Let the contributor present a new, hopefully brief article, in his own space and in his own words, and apply again. werldwayd (talk) 00:15, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

Your deletions on Gene Paul page
Hi there, I saw you removed all of the artists that engineer Gene Paul (http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Gene_Paul) has worked with and you wrote "Remove all the artists he worked with. Not allowed"
However, a quick search of Wikipedia reveals that this is the norm with audio engineers. Here are 14 examples I found in a quick search:
http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Bob_Ludwig
http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Howie_Weinberg
http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Ray_Staff
http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Brian_Gardner
http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Bob_Weston
http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Rodney_Mills
http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Andrew_Jackson_%28recording_engineer%29
http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Scott_Hull_%28mastering_engineer%29
http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Stephen_Marsh_%28mastering_engineer%29
http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Joey_Sturgis
http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Stephen_Marcussen
http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/James_Cruz
http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Andr%C3%A9s_Bretel
http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Harris_Newman
All of these pages have lists of artists that the engineer has worked with. These lists are often uncited (whereas the list on the Gene Paul page had many citations), and those other lists are often much longer than the ones on the Gene Paul page. And the Gene Paul clients weren't even in just one big list like many of those pages, but were instead split up to reflect the different studios he has worked at throughout his career.
Can you please explain how the Gene Paul list is different from these others? And if it's not different, can you please undo your deletions?
I was also unable to find any information (after much searching) to tell me what "not referenced using AWB (8277))" means, so if you could please help me understand it would be much appreciated. Thank you. Lovelounge (talk) 14:18, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
- 1) The "using AWB (8277)" is added by the tool I use.
- 2) The edit summary was "Remove all the artists he worked with. Not allowed and not referenced" The ~40 so artists that were listed in which Mr. Paul worked with was unreferenced. There was no independent, reliable references to back it up. Also, a list of names is generally not allowed as it is namedropping. For an artist, did Mr. Paul just work on one song, a few songs, an album, an award-winning album? In most cases this is just a person doing their job. If Mr. Paul worked on a Grammy winning album or a platinum selling album, then that would be notable and should be listed
- 3) There is a policy called WP:OTHERSTUFF. It says not to compare articles. Just because other stuff exists in other articles, does not make it right. Wikipedia rules change over time. Other articles were added and nobody was looking closely. Bob Ludwig is a good example to delete the list of artists. Only source given is to his company. But, there is a section on the awards he won and it lists the album and/or artist. The awards section should stay, but the list of artist up at the top should be deleted. DEFAULTSORT missing for titles with special letters / DEFAULTSORT with special characters
I think you and your bot should start dealing with DEFAULTSORT missing for titles with special letters and DEFAULTSORT words start with lowercase letters.
These are things are are already doing and you are the right person that could report bugs/enhancements to AWB.
If you need help to load more than 500 items from this list just tell me. The trick is to use the url provided for bots then change the displayed items to the max of 500 and then change the offset to 0, 500, 1000, etc. until you get the full list of items. -- Magioladitis (talk)
- Egads. Those categories sure did fill up all of a sudden. They have been near zero for a long time. Yes, I'll take a look at them. I've loaded items from Check Wikipedia into AWB before, but never over 500. I'll give a yell if I have problems.
- I noticed that Check Wikipedia does not pick up all the special characters. Also, would be nice if Check also did listas. It looked like the code wasn't being maintained and then there has been some activity. What is the status of the code? Bgwhite (talk) 07:01, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- You can report updates to the CHECKWIKI page and AWB bugs to me and/or the AWB bugs page. I did today 1,500 with AWB to fix special characters inside DEFAULTSORT. Things were better when Yobot was doing the job but I would like to move tasks to other bots to reduce complains of Yobot doing too much work! -- Magioladitis (talk) 09:40, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- One of the reason I am asking you to do this task is that you are good not only in reporting bugs to us but you can interact with other places like the CHECKWIKI page and also leave questions on the Defaultsort talk page on some certain special characters and see what to do with them. AWB doesn't deal with all of them yet. Maybe we need some rules or CHECKWIKI should exclude some special characters. -- Magioladitis (talk) 10:08, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

You can use 8319 from your normal account too ofcourse. Most important is that you redo, with your bot account, the 100 edits that were undone by madman to prove that the old bugs have been fixed. Keep reporting new issues so we can fix them. -- Magioladitis (talk) 06:56, 30 August 2012 (UTC)
Re: Speedy deletion nomination of Alberto Coelho and Michael Pinto
I'll keep it simple: In July, I've explained that Alberto Coelho and Michael Pinto, as well as the other players who had a page created, was going to play in a full pro league. Instead of waiting, someone decided to nominate his page to speedy deletion (just like you did now), as well as the other players, throwing away all my work. Although I was right, and as I've got plenty more things to do than spending my day in Wikipedia, I decided to let it go. As of today, he has already played in a fully pro league this season, so perhaps you should check out the list of fully professional leagues WP:FPL. If you had spent some time researching, you'd find out that Sporting Clube de Portugal B plays in Segunda Liga which is a.. full pro league. So I'm asking you, and your speedy deletion friends, to please stop deleting someone else's job. RRR22 (talk) 01:04, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi. I saw your bot fixing the defaultsort in Turkish villages. I have something else. Can you go through all of the Turkish villages I created a while back and remove the endings from the infobox and lead. OK, aside from the ending removal from the lead and infobox on the titles what I need is this relative to each province. Please click the diff between previous version and current version in the history to see exactly what I need done, e.g this for Adana Province settlements. There is a different source url link for each province. You'll also see that some of the earlier provinces also need the ending removed from the infobox titles but the lead has already been fixed. Anyway if you could apply it to each province using the examples given. If you click the references you'll see that they link to the right provinces in the source. The idea is that at a later date I can add the population data in front of the word "people" to those already started. So what I want is for you to apply that to the articles in the lists by province. There will be a few though which have already been expanded and have information, just replace the yerel ref articles (which should form the vast majority).
- Adana example: Boztahta
- Adıyaman example:Akdere, Adıyaman
- Afyonkarahisar example:Aşağıçaybelen, Bayat
- Aksaray example:Acıpınar, Aksaray
- Amasya example:Abacı, Göynücek
- Ankara example:Ahmetadil, Akyurt
- Antalya example:Akseki, Antalya
- Ardahan example:Açıkyazı, Ardahan

Bob Shiring
Thank you for contributing to the Bob Shiring Wikipedia page. My great-grandfather, Bob Shiring, played center for the Massillon Tigers from 1903-06. He was from the Pittsburgh area and was one of four "ringers" paid to play by Massillon. He also played for the J.F. Lalus Athletic Club in Pittsburgh in 1899-1900, Homestead Library & Athletic Club in 1901, and Pittsburgh Stars/Pros in 1902. I have inherited a collection of original photos from these teams and and have collected other photos and articles. Sports Illustrated ran a story in the 2/6/12 issue called The First Super Bowl on the big game in 1906 between Canton and Massillon. I helped the writer with the story and SI gave me a photo credit for the picture postcard of the Canton team that I provided them for the article. I am working on some related projects, including with the Hall of Fame, and would enjoy connecting with your or anyone interested in sharing information, asking questions, etc. Please feel free to contact me at gkficery@comcast.net. I actually think the BLP PROD would still have been valid. See Template:Prod blp/dated: "This article is about a living person and appears to have no references. As of March 2010, all newly created biographies of living people must have at least one reference to a reliable source" (emphasis not mine). Regardless, given how long the BLP PROD was up, the article creator is unlikely to make any further edits to the page, and a standard PROD will thus still do the job. Thanks for the notification. CtP (t • c) 22:46, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
- This is a common misconception. Per WP:BLPPROD, "To place a BLPPROD tag, the process requires that the article contain no sources in any form" (emphasis not mine). Unfortunately a Facebook or official website counts as a source, thus a BLPPROD cannot be added. I personally don't like the rule and think a reliable reference has to be added. Bgwhite (talk) 22:52, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
- In that case, I apologize. CtP (t • c) 22:55, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
WikiProject:Basketball
It isn't accurate that WikiProject Basketball only covers non-US players. There was wording on the main project page to that effect, but there was never consensus before it was put on and I have since removed it. WP:Basketball is the umbrella project for basketball, with active more specific sub-projects for the NBA (which would include the WNBA and NBDL) and College Basketball. WP:Basketball covers "everything else." The biggest chunk would be international leagues, but it would also cover US minor leagues, high school basketball, AAU and Team USA. The WP was on Michael Snaer because he was a highly-rated high school recruit. I don't feel strongly that it needs to be there, since his notability largely rests with his college career, but there was a method to the madness. Please don't remove WP:Basketball from articles based on an old scope. Thanks Rikster2 (talk) 12:59, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
- Sort of. From WP:WikiProject Basketball, "With the establishment of the WikiProject NBA and College Basketball, this WikiProject will focus on basketball outside these subject areas." WP Basketball is the umbrella project. If a person better fits NBA or College, then only those banners should be added. Seeing how Michael Snaer only plays College basketball, only WP College basketball fits. If he ends up playing overseas, he becomes non-US playing and then WP Basketball also comes into play. Anotherwords, very few non-international American players will have WP Basketball attached. Bgwhite (talk) 18:05, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
- Sort of. High school basketball has seen an uptick lately. That isn't covered by the College Basketball project. If a player had a long career in AAU in the 40s/50s or played exclusively in the Continental Basketball Association (to note two examples), then that part of their career is under the auspices of Wikiproject:Basketball. If an American player also falls under WP:Basketball when they start playing for, say the Greek League, why would that not be the case for things like the CBA, AAU, notability as a HS player, etc? Like I said, Snaer's notability "largely rests" on his college career - but he was also an All-American high school player. The McDonald's AA game isn't a WP:College Basketball item. Rikster2 (talk) 19:02, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
- You do realize that you just repeated my argument... very few non-international American players will have WP Basketball attached. There are exception, but the vast majority will not have WP Basketball. Bgwhite (talk) 20:04, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
- Not repeating it, since your point and edit summaries seem to rest on the assumption that WP:BB is about non-US league basketball. It isn't, it's about non-NBA, non-college basketball. That's a pretty big distinction and one I hope you get and support in future edits. It's not a big deal, I assume your assumption is based on the outdated wording on the project, just bringing it to your attention and asking that future edits support this. Rikster2 (talk) 22:17, 4 September 2012 (UTC)

At least this gives me something to play around with in the next couple of weeks. <grumbling about improvements that aren't necessarily so> LadyofShalott 00:37, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks again. I'll go try it. LadyofShalott 00:31, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
- Forgot about the links. The above signature has been updated. It shouldn't be too long. Bgwhite (talk) 00:12, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
- Oh wait, I still need links (which I can add) but that is so long... I guess I should have specifically asked if is it possible within the length requirements for sig. (I think it's too long here, even before adding in the links. LadyofShalott 00:06, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you! I guess I'm going to have to learn this new coding. LadyofShalott 00:01, 6 September 2012 (UTC)

Referee notability

Older attempts to deal with DEFAULTSORT/listas
Some history: User:ListasBot (last edit May 2010) and User:DefaultsortBot (last edit June 2009) are two bots (now inactive?) that tried to deal with DEFAULTSORT/listas. AWB's logic has been expanded a lot since then. -- Magioladitis (talk) 10:23, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
- AWB still doesn't get one Asian name right. It gets 90%+ of Arabic names wrong. AWB uses Pre-1900 convention for Arabic names when only Royalty and Malaysian names still use that convention. AWB doesn't do Icelandic names, Ethiopian names, names with particles (ver, de, von, di) and Spanish 3+ word names. Bgwhite (talk) 20:24, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
