Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Slackcountry, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Thank you for providing a diff summary with my reversion - I had thought with that edit that in fact I was rolling back further than I was at the time, and that the actual edit that I was undoing was a formatting error that had previously occurred.
Hopefully the problem is fixed now, the article is looking good. I apologize if I caused any problems in the meantime. Bobo. 16:35, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Your essay
I've done some copyediting, and posted a couple of comments on the talk/discussion page of the essay.
I think the essay still needs a lot of work, but it is original (as best I know; I not aware of anything similar in the Index, for example) and it's potentially quite useful for readers. So it merits some further discussion about improving it, and moving it (eventually) from userspace to projectspace. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 22:35, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- I suggest posting a note at the talk pages of Wikipedia:Researching with Wikipedia and Wikipedia:Citing Wikipedia, asking for comments and welcoming edits. You might also look (first) at those two pages to see if they have anything that you want to incorporate. And then wait a week or so to see whether anyone does want to comment or edit the essay. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 01:22, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Wow, you were quick on that one... I went to add the reference section I left out and you'd already done it.. thanx! Dlabtot (talk) 00:26, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Reliability essay
Interesting, do post it at talk WP:RS and WP:V too.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 02:34, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- Done Billscottbob (talk) 04:04, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- You should also take a look at the article Reliability of Wikipedia. It's got a different focus than your essay, but you might be able to take some information (or concepts) from it, and of course you'll want to include a link to it in your essay. You might also want to post a note on the article talk page about your essay; while that technically wouldn't be about improving the article per se, it's allowable per WP:IAR because what you're doing is trying to improve Wikipedia. Just keep it brief, of course. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 14:09, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, I think you should move it to projectspace. Do remove the notice about anyone being welcome to edit it; projectspace essays are always editable by other editors, unlike userspace ones.
- The worst that can happen is that someone decides to userfy the essay, putting it back in your userspace, but I think that's unlikely. So no reason not be be bold. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 02:27, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- It's pretty unusual for an essay to have a two-character shortcut. Policies and guidelines, sure - and WikiProjects may be forced to take another shortcut in that case. For your essay, something like WP:AREL or WP:ARY or even WP:ASSR seem appropriate, or use another three or four character shortcut you like. It's not critical. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 22:26, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
Request at Wikipedia:Village pump (assistance)
Hey there, i've fixed your arrows (it was pretty simple, just take a look at the diff). If you want to link the images, you will need to implement some form of either {{Click}} or ImageMap (click is easier, imagemap looks nicer). If you need more help let me know. Re: User:Josh710
I will definitely keep my eyes open on his talk page now. His edits do appear to be in good faith, but they're becoming consistently annoying which is making me lean toward that they're subtle acts of vandalism. I'm going to try to explain to him why his edits on Talk:Kid Nation have been reverted. I will start to watch his contribs more and more. Thanks for the heads up Billscottbob! - zachinthebox (User • Talk) 02:07, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- If he keeps it up or if you need any support, let me know and I'll be sure to help out. Looking at his current user/talk page he says that he's leaving Wikipedia. - zachinthebox (User • Talk) 20:28, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Informal mediation
I have volunteered to help out as an informal mediator for Parkour based on the request to MedCab for assistance (Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2008-02-11 Parkour). I am currently taking the time to review the article and talk page history. If you have any questions or concerns, or wish to make an additional comment, please feel free to leave a comment on the case page (Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Cases/2008-02-11_Parkour#Discussion) or on my talk page. Cheers! Vassyana (talk) 08:40, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Other templates for linking external media
There is a family of three templates to link external media: {{externalimage}}, {{externalvideo}} and {{externalaudio}} I hope that is sufficient for your demands and happy editing. Wandalstouring (talk) 11:24, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Re: Calculator...
I am sorry if it seemed rude. I certainly didn't mean it that way, but I rather got the impression that my absolute opinion on the matter was not helping and that people (e.g., Mrslippery) would be happier if I just got lost.... I have already acted on your advice about stepping down before it escalates however – I'm not getting involved with article talk pages again – if anyone reverts anything of mine in future I'll just let them have their way. Easier that way.
Nonetheless, I am thankful that those external links have been cleaned up. Thank you for persevering with it. • Anakin (talk) 17:44, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

APA Timestamp
Thanks for your comment on my talk page. I'm severely new and have no idea what I'm doing. I found that the 'cite this page' APA reference currently gives a permalink and also gives a time stamp. It is probably best to give just the permalink. I'll post a request to the village pump, but am not sure what page. Proposals? Technical? Mellen22 (talk) 19:14, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

- I think that since there are 1,780,000 Google Scholar hits on "Functional Disorders" the topic is certaintly worthy of an article. However, I don't think that an article on the Evolution of Functional Disorders should exist. The article was well-referenced and well-written and the topic appears notable, so it meets WP:N and WP:V. As for addressing WP:OR, if only the truly relevant and sourced information is left, there is absolutely no issue. If the information about the basic facts of functional disorders is left, there is no synthesization of information.
- I do not believe this should have been deleted but merged into Functional Disorders.
- I do not think that undeletion is neccesary. Just take the work and research, adapt it to be more encyclopedic and general, and make a page of Functional Disorders.
- That is MHO. I hope that answers your question. Billscottbob (talk) 23:37, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, thank you. The subject doesn't interest me at all so I doubt I'll go creating an article. SunCreator (talk) 23:49, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- Okay. I might get around to it.
- P.S. I was just looking for the least controversial way to go about it. If I were !voting at AfD, I would have just !voted to merge the whole thing into Functional Disorders. Billscottbob (talk) 23:52, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Conclusion: Image placeholders centralized discussion
Hi. I'm sending this to you because you participated in the Centralized discussion on image placeholders that ended on 23 April.
That discussion must produce a conclusion.
We originally asked "Should the addition of this box [example right] be allowed? Does the placeholder system and graphic image need to be improved to satisfy policies and guidelines for inclusion? Is it appropriate to some kinds of biographies, but not to others?" (See introduction).
Conclusions to centralized discussions are either marked as 'policy', 'guideline', 'endorsed', 'rejected', 'no consensus', or 'no change' etc. We should now decide for this discussion.
Please read and approve or disapprove the section here: Conclusion --Kleinzach (talk) 11:10, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
Please note this message conforms to WP:CANVASSING and has not been sent to anyone has not already participated in the centralized discussion.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed Deletion of "Alberta Achievement Testing"
Proposed deletion of Alberta Achievement Testing
The article Alberta Achievement Testing has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- already noted in "Education in Alberta"
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Jackery01 (talk) 21:42, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
New deal for page patrollers
Hi Billscottbob,
In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.
Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.
Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)
