Template talk:PlayStation
Additions
editI just increased the template with more PlayStation-related articles. --Ciao 90 15:08, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- Looks good, I added section headers for easier readability. It might be deemed a bit bloated, but wait and see how it's accepted by Wikipedians. I'm conforming {{Xbox}} to look the same way. ♦TH1RT3EN™ talk ♦ contribs 23:50, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
Internationality
editShouldn't we have the Platinum range and the Japanese greatest hits range in there as well as the US greatest hits range? Also what's the deal with having three magazines in there? Why those in particular? Pretty much every country has an Official PlayStation/2/3 Magazine and they're not of any particular historical significance. Sockatume 00:55, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
- Well, this is the English section of Wikipedia, so I don't think adding other countries' sections really seem fit. But go ahead if you really feel it needs it. ♦TH1RT3EN talk ♦ contribs 01:10, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
"Media"
editI'm removing the media section. The only official, Sony-licensed magazine was OPM. I would understand implementing it into the template somehow, but it stopped printing back in January. The other two are about the PlayStation brand, yes, but they aren't official magazines. Pele Merengue 11:23, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
- I am going to try to add the media back because PlayStation: The Official Magazine has been announced.--Playstationdude 23:49, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
- Going back again (who is removing?) and included your link. --Ciao 90 18:45, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
Miscellaneous section
editI just removed the miscellaneous section, PS3 launch and other PS3 details can be acessed on PlayStation 3 article and Xcross Media Bar is a part of System Software section now. --Ciao 90 18:45, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
PS Vita TV
editShould it be added in brackets next to regular Vita or should it have a category of its own? Putting it next to PS4 probably won't do much good. --Tomires (talk) 08:18, 14 September 2013 (UTC)
Separating "downloadable" and "physical"/"general"
editThe distinction between physical and downloadable games has become antiquated. Keeping these as separate categories is problematic:
3D games and Move games do not belong exclusively to either category. We can put it under "General" but the meaning of that heading isn't clear at all; it's the vaguest possible categorisation, yet this method of organisation does not allow anything more specific.
All PSV and PS4 games are downloadable, but only some PSP and PS3 games are. This means that PSV and PS4 games belong to both categories, but we can't put them in both because that would be redundant. It is not indicated to the reader that all of these games' libraries are downloadable. This also requires separating physical releases from games with both physical and digital releases, which means the releases of same exact game are separated, giving a false idea that they are of a different kind.
These two categories simply do not work. It means misdirection of the reader, overlap, and worst of all inaccuracy. This template can be done more accurately without these categories. You will see what I mean once I redo it. Ozdarka (talk) 03:05, 28 January 2016 (UTC)

In the PSP sub section of the games section, please add a link to List of best-selling PSP video games, just as the home consoles have links to their best selling lists. 2601:249:9301:D570:4CC3:27E4:859C:9775 (talk) 00:47, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
