Džuvljarke: Roma Lesbian Existence
- ...
that the book Džuvljarke by Vera Kurtić interviews members of the LGBT community in Serbia and concludes that Roma women are often "invisible"?Source: "While most non-LGBT respondents claimed that both gay men and lesbian women are treated the same in the Romani community, they only knew gay or bisexual men and transgender people in the community; Romani lesbian women were completely invisible. Kurtic explains this invisibility by the patriarchal control of women’s sexuality in the Romani community, which is maintained by religion and traditional values, economic dependence, and physical violence targeted at women who do not conform to these ideals" https://crs.ceu.edu/index.php/crs/article/view/119 (click pdf, then p.79)

Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Džuvljarke: Roma Lesbian Existence; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.
- I think this is good to go: the cover image (now) seems to be properly licensed, the hook is verified, there's no plagiarism, it's new enough, it's long enough... I'd like to see all the citations nicely templated, of course, but that's not an impediment for this making it to the front page. Drmies (talk) 15:23, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks so much for the review Drmies - looking again, can I adjust the hook slightly to include the word lesbian?
