editimus, cavite is only an hour away from manila. lots of establishments are being built in imus, cavite. this municipality is a fast-paced, industrialized town. the incumbent mayor is Oscar "OJ" Jaro.He was elected in 3 term as Mayor of Imus,Cavite (1998,2001,2007)....
Fromer Mayor Oscar A. Jaro (1998-2001; March-June 2004; April-June 2007)
editFormer Mayor Emmanuel L. Maliksi (2007-2010)
editIsn't former Mayor Manny L. Maliksi the duly-elected mayor of the town of Imus? He is NOT acting (and even moreso appointed), he won by popular vote over Engr. Homer Saquilayan. Whoever thinks that way (esp. the user with IP address of 203.87.199.154) is purely delusional. Heck, nakakapag-mura ka pa nga sa ibang edits (part. the Gleason entry) dahil lang mali ung version na ginawa mo eh. Reyrefran 18:13, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
Mayor Homer T. Saquilayan
editHe has an extraordinary record in his political career, he was elected thrice as Mayor of Imus but thrice protested and unseated. First in 2001 election, against Oscar A. Jaro (also in 2004 election) and for the third time in 2010 elections, despite his landslide victory against Incumbent Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi of President Benigno Aquino III's Liberal Party, he was protested and unfortunately unseated in December 28, 2011. At present, as of May 7, 2012, Mayor Saquilayan is preparing for his come back as city mayor after the Commission on Elections declared that the Imus RTC's decision that installed Emmanuel Maliksi, former Mayor (2007–2010) as Imus' chief executive null and void.
First Wagayway Festival marking Imus, as Philippines flag capital
editOn May 28, 2008, Imus witnessed the reenactment of the historic Battle of Alapan in 1898 at battle—amid explosions of gunpowder and intermittent cries of “Fuego! (Fire!)” and “Sugod, mga kapatid! (Charge, brothers!),” by 400 natives. Mayor Manny Maliksi with Cesar Virata (Enrique Aguinaldo Virata), a grandnephew of Emilio Aguinaldo, inter alia, led the launching of the festival during the program for National Flag Day: “The core of the celebration is sincere love and respect for our flag. Let us love the flag which symbolizes our freedom. For whoever loves the flag, loves our country,” he said during the program for National Flag Day.globalnation.inquirer.net/philippineexplorer, First Wagayway Festival marks Imus as RP flag capital--Florentino floro (talk) 08:08, 27 June 2008 (UTC) GIRLS OF FORMER MAYOR MANNY L. MALIKSI. When the corruption fighter Mayor Homer Saquilayan took office, this festival was stopped because of the demanded by the celebration.

Imus, Cavite → Imus –
Per WP:MOSPHIL (As a general rule, cities should neither be affixed with the word "City" nor the name of the province in which it is located.) AND regarding its disambiguations: for the case of people, based on my experience of using Wikipedia, there is no such article that has a title which is only a single word that refers to a person; for the case of place, Imus ranch is just like a ranch/forest which shouldn't be called by its name without the word ranch, I guess; for the case of Media, the American radio show Imus in the Morning should not be called using the word Imus only also. Jimboy (talk) 06:35, 02 July 2012 (UTC)
- Imus is a dab page so it can't go there. Unless Imus is no longer a component city, the current title is perfectly fine. –HTD 02:10, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- Move to Imus. It appears to be the primary topic. -JinJian (talk) 23:56, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- Imus can refer to that American radio show host. –HTD 03:03, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
- Not necessarily. --JinJian (talk) 00:50, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
- In that case, the city becomes the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, and it should be moved to Imus. I'm not convinced, though. While many Americans may not recognize Imus the radio guy, many Filipinos may also not recognize Imus the place. Any move request that affects where Imus points at should be made at Talk:Imus, or the very least, a note has to be made there, along with any projects watching that. –HTD 04:06, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
- I doubt if people from Imus would be calling their place as "Imus, Cavite". Just keep it simple. Imus deserves to be called by its own name. I don't think that further disambiguation is required or necessary for the title. --JinJian (talk) 01:09, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

- Support. Although this show can simply be called "Imus", its Official Title still remains as "Imus in the Morning", for that, it cannot be moved to >>> Imus. Imus, Cavite satisfies the requirements to be moved to >>> Imus. --Angelica (talk to me?) 15:11, 08 July, 2012 —Preceding undated comment added 15:11, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

Mayor of Imus??
editWho is the real mayor of Imus?? Because as far as I know, the current Mayor is Hon. Homer T. Saquilayan since all of the issues regarding Imus, he is the representative mayor, but I also know that the votes for mayor of Engr. Homer T. Saquilayan won against Maliksi on 2010 Elections. Someone please make it clear to me? Angelica (talk to me?) 15:16, 08 July, 2012 —Preceding undated comment added 15:17, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
