Talk:Capcom Cup 2016
Regional Finals article
editI've been working on a separate article for the four regional finals of this year's season, in order to document the four events in-depth without creating a unique article for each one (as I have generally done for Premier Events this year). I'm waiting for the Asian regional finals before I'm going to move it to the mainspace, but I was wondering what people thought of the article. here it is. Feel free to make some edits ^_^ ~Mable (chat) 19:20, 12 November 2016 (UTC)
- I've moved it to the mainspace. I think it works well. ~Mable (chat) 15:57, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
This is it
editThe Capcom Cup will take place this weekend. I was hoping to bring it to In The News after it gets appropriately updated and sourced. Sadly, I will be abroad from Friday to Monday and won't be able to do much editing. I am hoping to put some good work in this article on Monday and nominate it then. I already have good ideas for how to really sell the blurb to the crowd over at ITN - something like "This is what the last year of fighting games have been all about" :p Anyway, I hope someone can update the results table to be similar to that of the other articles, and I wanted to let y'all know that I'll be active on this article on Monday night (~GMT) and Tuesday. ~Mable (chat) 20:39, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
- I should be able to do some good work on this article 36 hours from now. Until then: I don't think it makes much sense to have four tables. Could the information in these be combined in some way? ~Mable (chat) 09:40, 4 December 2016 (UTC)
I nominated the article for ITN as promised: Wikipedia:In_the_news/Candidates#Capcom_Cup_2016. Check it out :) ~Mable (chat) 19:38, 5 December 2016 (UTC)
- I'd love to get some more eyes on the tournament summary section, as someone in the ITN discussion has noted that it is confusing for non-players. Any thoughts? ~Mable (chat) 17:46, 6 December 2016 (UTC)

I would add a results bracket to make things easier to visualize. I think the best way to deal with double elimination tournaments is to have section on anything notable in the winner's bracket, a section on the loser's bracket, and then a section on the grand final. That way the information is compartmentalized and it becomes easier to follow the overall narrative (i.e. who wins the winner's bracket, who wins the lower bracket, then the grand final).
I'll look into what I can do, but it seems really tricky... ~Mable (chat) 10:46, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

Pre-Capcom Pro Tour 2017 discussion
editIf we had a esports workgroup page, I would have posted this there, but alas. Those interested are probably following this page. It may still take a while before details for the next Pro Tour will be revealed, but it's never too soon to prepare. I was thinking of finally splitting the Capcom Cup from its Pro Tour and giving the two separate articles (Capcom Cup 2017 and Capcom Pro Tour 2017). This may allow us to go into more detail and will make the article on the Capcom Cup feel less "off topic". I'd like to hear thoughts on this idea. I have already created a draft for the Pro Tour article here, but I don't think it should be brought to the mainspace until official details are released. ~Mable (chat) 14:06, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
- I did finally create the article on the current Pro Tour (Capcom Pro Tour 2017), but it's still very much behind on everything. Feel free to expand it. For future discussion on the topic, see its talk page. ~Mable (chat) 08:57, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
