editDevelopment
editIn November 2022, it was reported that Sony had filed trademark applications for the PlayStation 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 in Japan.[1] In response to Microsoft's planned purchase of WB Games and Activision Blizzard, the Competition and Markets Authority in the United States had released a redacted confidential document with input from Sony that stated the next generation of console would not be released until after 2027.[2]
