Wikipedia:WikiProject Philosophy/Reference resources

For general guidance on citing sources see Wikipedia:Citing sources, Wikipedia:Manual of Style (footnotes) and Wikipedia:Manual of Style (layout).

This is a collection of helpful resources — web sites, journals, and so on — to assist in writing good philosophy articles. Every article should cite reliable sources where readers can learn more about the topic.

Most sources listed here can be freely viewed and downloaded without charge and without access restrictions, thus they are particularly convenient for both editors and readers alike. As well, some tools are listed to help find and format citation data.

Editors can request access to specific articles or books or information on a specific topic at Wikipedia:WikiProject Resource Exchange/Resource Request. Access to some otherwise unaccessible sources may also be provided by Wikipedia:The Wikipedia Library for editors whose account is six months old and who have at least 500 edits.

Templates

There are several templates that help format citations for common philosophy web sites. Full instructions are available on their respective pages. Note that the most common ones should be integrated in {{Infobox philosopher}}.
