Yeltsin pic

First of all, that's a different URL. Secondly, do you seriously mean to tell me that Adam Carr, whoever that is, holds the copyright to that image?? -- Y not? 23:03, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

Precisely how is "why not" an answer to my question? -- Y not? 23:06, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
I don't **know**. But I have a very strong suspicion that this is a TV frame grab from one of the the old Soviet TV network. Considering how CNN did not cover the meetings of the politburo in 1990 or so. Nor did Adam Carr. So I am asking you if you seriously in good faith believe that he holds the copyright to the image. Because if you do, God save us all, and God save the foundation. I have advocated for a while - mostly quietly - that people younger that 19 or so should not as a general proposition be made administrators, because people this young tend to lack critical judgment. Opponents of this view usually cite you as their shining star. They're wrong. -- Y not? 23:15, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
You did not "already apologize". You retreated. That's not an apology. In any event, I never called on you to apologize - you did nothing wrong. I have no interest in "fighting" with you. I have nothing to gain from a fight. Good evening. -- Y not? 23:21, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
Don't be silly. Judgement doesn't come magically at an age. You do know we had a 16 year old arbitrator last year who did very well, yes? And a 15 year old bureaucrat who continues to do fine.
A Wikipedia admin is about the same level of job as message board moderator. The essential job requirement is to have a clue. There are many teenagers you wouldn't let near the job, but many who do fine - David Gerard 23:27, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

Viewing... Deleted Articles

Hi 1ne. Now, a user, Coin945, had 2 articles which he created, Minigames (Club Penguin) and Club Penguin Locations, but those articles wre deleted due to their unnotability. Now, since you are an administrator, could you please view those deleted pages with your administrative powers, copy the content, and post those drafts at Coin945´s talk page so that he can have them on his userspace? I think he would really be gratefull if you were to do so...

Nomination for deletion

Hello 1ne. I've nominated a user page you've restored for deletion. If you would like to comment, please see Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:2ne. —{admin} Pathoschild 00:48:49, 02 May 2007 (UTC)

Dibs

Hi- I have restored this article that you deleted under WP:CSD A7 on April 26th. I don't feel that it meets the criteria for speedy deletion, given that there are several other articles on similar cultural conventions of similar notability. If you still feel this does not merit inclusion in Wikipedia, I suggest you nominate it for a normal deletion via the standard AFD procedure. Cheers, DDG 20:54, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Dibs. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article or speedy-deleted it, you might want to participate in the deletion review. DDG 14:57, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

The Baseball Network was technically, an umbrella title for ABC and NBC's 1994-1995 Major League Baseball coverage. It wasn't a full-fledged, 24 hour television network a la ESPN. TMC1982 1:22 a.m., 5 May 2007 (UTC)

What exactly is your rationale for removing the itlaics!? At least I've given an explaination. My point is that The Baseball Network was more or less, a television program within itself. It was actually a joint-venture between Major League Baseball and two different television networks. TMC1982 12:18 a.m., 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Why don't you think of something more original as a response than to repeatedly take my words out of context!? All you've done in response is beat me over the head with me wanting to "Own" the Baseball Network article. You haven't even explained why you feel it should be formatted a particular way. TMC1982 11:15 p.m., 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Now this is getting absolutely absured with what you're doing. I get rid of the italics and simply use lowercasing for "The" in "The Baseball Network". Yet, you still has to revert to whatever format fits your vision. At the end of the day, there has to be some sort of compromise arrangment. And you wander why an editing block is currently on that particular article! TMC1982 10:02 p.m., 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Aertel.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Aertel.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:44, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

enemy combatant versus unlawful enemy combatant

There were several discussions, in several fora, where it was discussed whether the terms enemy combatant; unlawful enemy combatant; unprivileged belligerent; illegal combatant, merited articles of their own. The results were mixed. "Enemy combatant" survived. You closed the {{afd}} for "unlawful enemy combatant" as delete.

On June 4 2007, all charges against Omar Khadr and Salim Ahmed Hamdan were dismissed, over the distinction between "enemy combatant" and "unlawful enemy combatant".

After a brief look at the {{afd}} I don't see any procedural problems. It looks like you followed procedure, in interpreting consensus. However, I think current events have shown that, in this particular case, the consensus couldn't have been more wrong.

Am I incorrect to think that, as the administrator who closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Unlawful enemy combatant, you have the authority to restore the article, without going through the long delay of a deletion review, and subsequent second {{afd}}? If so I hope I have convinced you that this would an instance where it would be important for you to exercise that authority.

Cheers! Geo Swan 17:05, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

An editor has asked for a deletion review of unlawful enemy combatant. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article or speedy-deleted it, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Geo Swan 19:24, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

GeoSwan asked for a speedy undelete to add new information, & she made a prima facie case for restoration; as she said she hadn't been able to reach you, and is a responsible editor, I undeleted it for the time being, subject to further discussion on the page. Hi, "One"

Hey "One".

I'm here to represent the Homestar Runner Fanstuff Wiki forums (A little shameless advertising). A few users are enquiring about the the former Wiki User Fanstuff Wiki which you created some time ago.
Recently the link on our main page became invalid and the entire wiki was lost. We'd appreciate if either you started it up again, or if Super Sam could get hold of the files and resume the wiki on his server.

We'd appreciate it very much if either of these could be arranged. Cheers, Kaiser from California Dinoshaur 14:05, 24 August 2007 (UTC) I'll check my backup I think its someplace....mike AT goui . ca -Mike —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.248.128.208 (talk) 05:26, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Doctor Steel

Were you the one who protected all the Doctor Steel pages? If so, it wasn't necessary. Either way, it wasn't a breach of fair use by any means. —Preceding unsigned comment added by LouisHesse (talkcontribs) 21:07, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
