About a File
I think File:CPA Posters on Presidential Elections 2015 B2yun0dCYAAYu5Y.jpg large (15825684885).jpg doesn't mean anything about Sri Lankan presidential election, 2015. It is about a Nenasala program. Removal of Updates
Hi Obi2canibe,
I cannot help but notice that you have been removing updates that we have been making to the entries for No Fire Zone and also Callum Macrae.
I am confused as to why you are doing this as the information contained in the updates is factually correct and backed up with links that support the posted information.
I am not familiar with Wikipedia and so if I am doing something wrong, please advise me as to what needs to be done rather than simply removing the updates that take me time and effort to enter.
Alternatively as you clearly are more familiar with Wikipedia any assistance you can give adding the "references" referred to would be gratefully accepted.
Regards
Videomarkw Videomarkw (talk) 10:52, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Videomarkw: - I see you have made substantial improvements to the referencing on No Fire Zone following advice provided by User:LindsayH - well done. Verifiability is one of Wikipedia's core content policies. You should be always provide reliable sources so that readers can verify that what is said is correct. If you have time why not try to do the same for the content you tried to add on Callum Macrae? Additions and improvements are always welcome, if they are properly referenced.--obi2canibetalk contr 11:52, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

Conduct section
By going through the edit history it appears that you are the editor who has been editing the section titled conduct in the 2015 presidential elections and also a similar sections titled election violence in the 2010 presidential elections. It appears that you are misrepresenting the cited source to a great degree and also providing sources that appear to be opinions of the author and not that of an independent body well recognized body. About remove the pictures from South Eastern University of Sri Lanka article
I can not understand why you remove university pictures from above article. There was no any purpose to make show piece for my photos. This is an ENCYCLOPEDIA. Not your property. Also this is not a place to show your personal attitudes. Most of articles about Sri Lankan universities has relevant pictures. It seems you are following anti-something matter on this action. As a responcible person, your action on this matter can not understand. (Removing all of pictures about relevant to university). Your given reason for that was, '(remove excessive images - this is an encyclopaedia, not a show piece for your photos)'. You are thought i am only picture shower. My main works are in SINHALA wikipeadia. If you think i am a infant in wikipeadia, it is not true.

Talk:Results of the 2010 United Kingdom general election by parliamentary constituency
Hi, thanks for responding at Talk:Results of the 2010 United Kingdom general election by parliamentary constituency, and for the offer of help with large tables. Two issues that didn't seem relevant there: I presume that article was at some stage copied to a new URL rather than moved according to the preferred method. Hence I don't know where the previous discussion on its talk page was. I would like to see previous talk relevant to it: can you point me in the right direction, please?
Secondly, what is 'ping', and why use it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by DrArsenal (talk • contribs) 20:45, 21 December 2014 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I follow - Results of the 2010 United Kingdom general election by parliamentary constituency was created afresh, it wasn't copied from another article. Which article do you think it was copied from? Template:Ping is used to trigger a notification to a user you are replying to in a discussion. I use it to notify others that I have replied to their comment - saves them having to check if there's been a reply.--obi2canibetalk contr 21:15, 21 December 2014 (UTC)

Northern Province, Sri Lanka
There's no such as thing as tamil country in Sri Lanka. Are you joking me? The entire country of Sri Lanka belongs to Tamil, Sinhala, Sri Lankan Muslims and Burgher. Please don't make unnecessary claims in order to prove your extremism point. If you won't stop doing this I will report to a wikipedia Admins. Regardless of the citations you provided it is still not officially known as tamil country in sri lanka. Please don't promote your extremism point while hurting the reconciliation effort. Anybody can claim the northern province as tamil country but still it is not officially. If northern province is tamil country which province is sinhalese? Before editing that article back find an official source to back your edit. Just because a person calls you donkey doesn't make you a donkey unless your parents and your birth certificate names you a donkey. - If you'd bothered to read the definition of country you would know it has meanings other than an independent sovereign state. It may mean a geographic region associated with a particular people/language/race (e.g Basque Country, Tamil country), occupation (e.g. cowboy country), species (e.g. cattle country) or even a region of a sovereign state (e.g. Black country, west country). In Sri Lanka there is a region called Up Country - have you heard of that? Is is an independent sovereign state? And here on Wikipedia we use reliable sources, not official sources.--obi2canibetalk contr 19:54, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
I'm laughing my head off seeing you comparing basque country to a so called tamil country. Yes, up country and hill country are official names and de facto names given to Central province and vicinity during the british era and earlier. Regardless like I said, anyone can call northern province a tamil country. Like a simple minded person like you, doesn't mean we should give it much value. If northern province is tamil country does the same logic apply to Tamil Nadu? Malayalam country is Kerala? Telugu country is Andhra Pradesh? Go and check those pages and see if it mentions as such. If north india is Aryan Country is South india the Dravidian country? Like I said keep your imaginations to yourself, and promote your Eelam propaganda somewhere else. Not here on this public encyclopedia. Please remember there's a reconciliation effort going on in the country. Even the smallest word could hurt it. 4keven4 (talk) 23:11, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
- Wikipedia isn't here to promote the reconciliation effort or anything else - see WP:PROMOTION. You are blindly ignoring Wikipedia polices to promote your own POV.--obi2canibetalk contr 19:40, 24 January 2015 (UTC)
Neither wikipedia is here to promote your separatism and extremism point. Wikipedia is here to promote the truth. You are the one ignoring it's policies to promote your own bull. The truth is, there's no such thing as a tamil country in Sri Lanka. The truth is Northern Province has the highest tamil population in the country. 4keven4 (talk) 20:09, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for updating the Members of Parliament templates. I am wondering if they are fully completed and what sources you used to finish the list. Also could you clarify those names in the brackets? I know you don't like red links, but I think it is best to link all the names as they will all eventually be created. A red link is one step closer to that process than being unlinked.--Blackknight12 (talk) 17:31, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Blackknight12: - My sources were the PDF files provided on the Department of Election website. I have used these extensively in electoral district and MP articles. For the appointed MPs I used K.T. Rajasingham's Sri Lanka: The Untold Story though I couldn't find all the names. The names in brackets are those who entered parliament following a by-election - I have entered them next to the MP they replaced. The Department of Election website also has details on these.
- I would say the templates are 99% complete, only some of the appointed MPs are missing - the ones with "*This list is unfinished". We need to create templates for the 8th to 12th parliaments as well.
- My preference is not to have red links but it's only a preference, there are no policies against it, so if you want to add them go ahead.--obi2canibetalk contr 20:36, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Obi2canibe: Thanks, hopefully we can have all these articles created soon.--Blackknight12 (talk) 13:15, 9 March 2015 (UTC)

Sri Lanka Matha
Hi,Please don't publish wrong information about Sri lankan national anthem.it is Samarakoon's own creation. It's influenced by Tagore's music. But it is not a gurudev Tagore's Creation. At the time Samarakoon went to Shantiniketan Gurudev Tagore was ill. Also Samarakoon didn't stay in shanthiniketan for long time.So there is no evidence to say that Namo Namo Matha is created by Gurudev Tagore except Indian paper articles. Even Writers of those articles haven't prove it properly. But Sri Lankan Musician Padmashree W.D.Amaradeva has proved that it is an own creation of Samarakoon. Samarakoon has translated some Tagore's songs to sinhala, but he had mentioned all the original songs that he translated (The lyrics were mentioned by Mkandlikar, do not have real meaning in Bengali Apa Sri Lanka, Nama Nama Nama Nama Mata, Sundar Sri Boroni). But no such things are available for Namo Namo Matha. And If you could find and show the original lyrics and tune created by Gurudev from his books, you can prove it.(Not paper articles, writers can write anything). Please don't publish things which haven't proved properly, specially in a website like this. As Sri lankans we want to live peace and harmony. Please help that.
