Applicability of WP:CORP to a mall

edit

Good evening. In a recent deletion discussion, you questioned the applicability of WP:CORP to a mall since that guideline "is for an individual company". The thing to remember is that the mall is an individual company - it's the landlord that the other tenants rent space from. Certain malls may qualify for extra consideration based on the building (for example, if they have exceptional architecture) but other than that, a mall is the same as any other landlord. We deliberately wrote WP:CORP broadly to encompass as many kinds of organizations as possible. Hope that clarifies things a bit. If you'd like to discuss it more, you might want to drop a comment on WP:CORP's Talk page. Thanks. Rossami (talk) 01:10, 2 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

NPOV

edit

Hi there, I was reading through wp:Ani, and found that a complaint has been made about you, regarding adding NPOV tags to articles, please remember to discuss on the relevent talkpage when you place a tag on an article, it stops confusion like this and means we know what is NPOV in your opinion, if you need anymore information about this, feel free to drop me a line on my talkpage. Best regards, Chafford (talk) 09:46, 6 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

In the case of Chris Crocker, adding a tag saying it needs additional citations borders on the disruptive given how many references there already are. If you think there are uncited statements, tag or remove them and then discuss on the talk page. If you feel the article is POV, you also need to give your reasoning on the talk page. Continuing to readd the tags without engaging in discussion will be seen as disruptive editing and you could end up getting blocked. Trebor (talk) 10:13, 6 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

What correlation is there between x amount of citations and uncited content? If i have 90 references for 15 out of 20 statements but none for the rest, the rest still need citations. There is an error in your logic. I have mentioned it on the talk page. I could give additional information if necessary, however I believe it it pretty obvious what needs to be done. Here's my line. In general the article's tone is very unencyclopedic, it is full of useless trivia, a lot of content is inserted repetitiously. its not a good read at all. basically. its a bad article. lets improve it. if it must exist.

Replied on my talk page. Trebor (talk) 00:39, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Regarding your comments on Chris Crocker: Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks will lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. You've now accused me twice of being Crocker - please stop. You have some valid concerns and if you would dial down the accusations we can have some constructive dialog and it could help the article improve. Banjeboi 03:53, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please remember to assume good faith when dealing with other editors, which you did not do on Talk:Chris Crocker (Internet celebrity). Thank you. Bidgee (talk) 04:00, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Per your request, in this diff your entire message on my talk page is "are you chris crocker?" A day later on the talk page of the Crocker article you wrote in this diff - "Also you have very serious POV issues since you are Chris Crocker." Crocker, if you hadn't seen it in the article, gets near-daily death threats so I encourage you to cease from accusing anyone' of being Crocker as death threats are not to be taken lightly. Banjeboi 20:47, 8 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

The first is not an accusation, it is a question that you have yet to answer. I personally feel you are very likely the individual in question. Death threats which may or may not be real are not my problem and thinking someone is the individual question has nothing to do with the alleged death threats as I am not threatening anyone. The only person liable is the person making the threats. I doubt Crocker has ever received any serious death threats. I think people just find him annoying and like to say off the wall shit on youtube etc.Myheartinchile (talk) 22:07, 9 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Since you seem determined to push the point, no I'm not the subject of the article. And yes, wikipedia takes death threats and violating policies seriously so please stop. Banjeboi 23:41, 9 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well there are no death threats on wikipedia so you have nothing to worry about. What policy am I violating exactly?Myheartinchile (talk) 00:38, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Crocker

edit

Note: warning removed per[1]

Since you insist: [2]. There is absolutely no justification for this sort of accusation. Please read WP:BLP. Wikipedia talk pages are not fan forums for discussing rumors about people, and it particularly is not a place for you defame people. Gwernol 23:34, 9 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
No, YouTube is not a reliable source and even if it was, its an obvious fake/hoax. We do no defame people based on an unreliable hoax. Gwernol 23:38, 9 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
FYI Crocker posted the original video then removed it for his own reasons, it showed him and his "brother" who he revealed to be his boyfriend at the time in a reliable source. it was indeed a hoax likely to shock people. The video itself isn't notable enough for inclusion but could be if it becomes so. Banjeboi 23:47, 9 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Two further points. First, read WP:BLP. You may not defame living people on Wikipedia. If you continue to put yourself and Wikipedia in legal jeopardy by doing this you will be blocked from editing. Second, it would be (at the least) courteous for you to notify me if you are going to question my actions at ANI or any other forum. Thanks, Gwernol 01:11, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Myheartinchile, please be more careful with the way you phrase comments on Wikipedia as the comment you posted to the Crocker talk page was a clear violation of the Biographies of Living People policy. I believe that you didn't intend to do anything wrong but the fact is that it was a violation of policy and the warning was therefore correct and you were lucky you weren't blocked. If you want to post a controversial topic like this in future, please provide a link to an article in a newspaper or other reliable source discussing the issue and remember that the WP:BLP policy applies to all pages on Wikipedia, not just the article itself. YouTube isn't a reliable source on Wikipedia; please read the guideline on reliable sources to see what kinds of sites are acceptable to use as sources. On Wikipedia, we are very strict with biographies of living people so please be more careful. Sarah 01:28, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Myheartinchile, the administrator at WP:ANI did not tell you my warning was unjustified. He said you were permitted to remove the warning, which you are. Your addition to Talk:Chris Crocker (Internet celebrity) clearly breached our policy of WP:BLP. If you continue this kind of disruptive editing you will be blocked. Please stop be much more careful in your editing, and please read what editors are actually saying. You should also read the clarification left at WP:ANI. Gwernol 02:15, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

warning

edit

respectfully, that's patent bull. the article in question uses youtube as a source dozens of times and the claims in question are represented in a video from the article's subject that he made and posted on youtube. it was the only source i had and its the only source for all the other videos besides "Leave Brittany Alone". I asked on the administrators reporting page and they said the warning was unwarranted. i don't think anything i claimed was controversial with regarads the to behavior and "art" that this individual is reported on in the context of this article or his life. see the video for yourself [3] if a video is not a reliable source for the subject at hand i don't know what is.Myheartinchile (talk) 02:05, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please re-read the administrator's noticeboard Wikipedia:ANI#warning_removal - I was one of the admins who responded to you and none of us have said the warning was unwarranted. We have only said that you may remove the messages if you want to, which is something that all users on Wikipedia are allowed to do on their own talk page so long as they don't do it in a disruptive manner. No one on ANI has told you the warning was unwarranted. YouTube is not a reliable source, again, please read - reliable sources, verifiability and Biographies of Living People. Links to YouTube are used to link to the videos in question but they are not suitable to use as reliable sources for a blp and most certainly not for controversial claims like asserting that someone is in an incestuous relationship with their brother. If you want to make controversial claims, you need to find reliable sources as defined by Wikipedia and if you don't you are going to end up being the blocked. That's the bottom line, really. You can think it's "patent bull" if you wish but you've been warned by multiple admins now and if you continue to make such comments about living people without reliable sources (again, as defined by Wikipedia, not by your own opinion) then you will be blocked. Sarah 02:20, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
well how can i talk about it then, how can i ask about it, if i'm not allowed to.?Myheartinchile (talk) 02:48, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Myheartinchile, as I've stated a few times now, it was the semantics and tone that got you into trouble. Your statement was that Crocker was is a incestuous relationship, instead you can simple link to the source (video in this case) and ask something like, this seems likes it's worth mentioning, anyone else agree or have seen it before? You could even state he seems to be in an incestuous relationship - is that true? It allows other editors to check the source and likely someone will respond with the correct info, in this case that it was a hoax. Banjeboi 03:11, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
As explained by others, you need to be careful with how you phrase comments on biographies. That question you asked was phrased as though it were a statement of fact and that is a large part of the problem. The other thing is that if it is something likely to be considered controversial or something that might be considered libelous, then you need to have a link to a source. Also, remember that article talk pages are for discussing the article only, not for discussing gossip so it's really not the place to go to to ask if something is true or not. Sarah 04:48, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi, you were probably unaware but renaming articles should generally not be done when they are in AfD or in this case deletion review. Once that process is over we can probably find a new name for the article. Banjeboi 22:41, 13 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

War on terror protest template

Excellent template addition, though it needs to be cleaned up a bit. However, navigation templates like that go at the bottom of the articles, below any "see also", "references", "external links", etc. sections. SchuminWeb (Talk) 03:06, 14 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Myheartinchile for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. ⇔ ÆS dt @ 21:41, 3 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • While this was a good faith report on my part, given the existence of an alternate possible explanation for the apparent sockpuppetry, and the fact that both explanations seem equally likely, I concede there is no proof even by a burden of the preponderance of the evidence (requiring sockpuppetry to be more likely than not) that this is a case of sockpuppetry. I will thus assume good faith and have withdrawn the report. My apologies. ⇔ ÆS dt @ 22:49, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Just curious, but what stations do you plan to have articles about? All of the platform stops, or...? (not saying that creating those articles is wrong...) —Kurykh 22:10, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
It's because that while there is a tendency to create articles for platform stops, there is an aversion to create articles for regular stops (those on the J, K, L, M, and N, with exceptions). Ok. Oh, and btw, you might want to fix your copy-and-pastes; the addresses are different for each article. And it's spelled "Brannan." —Kurykh 22:16, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

T Third Street stations

edit

Two notes: the signage of the UCSF Mission Bay station says "Gene Friend Way", as do all Muni references, and Williams station has only "Williams" and not "Van Dyke" or any inclusion of that phrase in any Muni reference. —Kurykh 06:59, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

UCSF Mission Bay: change it back to the original Gene Friend Way Station, then use "Lane" in address.
Williams: I think change it back, but add Van Dyke to the address. Following signage is the best route, I think. —Kurykh 07:05, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
what about the muni map or the official name. i think we should include van dyke for practicality since all the other stations show the double intersections dual namings.
That's because they actually do have both names on the signs. For example, the Oakdale/Palou station actually has signs that say "Oakdale/Palou". —Kurykh 07:09, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

About the T line template: don't add "Visitacion Valley" in, or else it screws up the template for Arleta. It's supposed to have "terminus" right underneath "Sunnydale", but only if the template is in a certain format. —Kurykh 07:12, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Um, the trains actually only say either "Sunnydale & Bayshore" (rolling signs) or just "Sunnydale" (digital signs), but never "Visitacion Valley" in whatever form. —Kurykh 16:23, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

The article title, infobox title, and the first mention in the article body are supposed to have the full name of the station (minus "station"), such as "Folsom and The Embarcadero", etc. The contraction, "Folsom", can be used in the rest of the article. That's why I keep changing them back. —Kurykh 00:24, 12 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

There's being aesthetically pleasing, and there's being informative. The latter is predominant. On Wikipedia, at least. —Kurykh 00:38, 12 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

From Wikipedia:Manual of Style (infoboxes)#Design and usage:

The top text line should be bold and contain the full (official) name of the item. This does not need to match the article's Wikipedia title. It should not contain a link. Avoid {{{PAGENAME}}} as pages may be moved for disambiguation.

From Wikipedia:Manual of Style#Article titles, headings and sections:

If possible, an article title is the subject of the first sentence of the article...

From Wikipedia:WikiProject Stations:

The lead paragraph shall include the name of the station as it appears on the system map, and not a short-hand name, but those can and should be mentioned later.

The article title is taken to conform with the other articles (e.g. Montgomery, where on Wikipedia it is denoted as "Montgomery Street") —Kurykh 02:47, 12 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

edit

Next time when you edit templates, please remember to check if you're breaking them. I think the integral part of route ferry icon means that everyone leaves the train and goes onto the ferry, or the train itself goes onto the ferry. the   icon is for connecting ferries. One of the things I notice was that the icons didn't match up when there were 2 icons on the same row. try to start the line with {{BS3|| instead of {{BS2| (note the number of lines) this will make the symbols match up. keep up the edits. Plase stop posting the picture of the "Maxterbation Guy" on every page you can find...That picture is very low quality and not every article needs a picture. "R" Is for Ricochet

edit

Your AfD nomination has me puzzled. How does this "substantiate" any other article on Wikipedia? This book is part of the notable "alphabet" series from Sue Grafton, who is without a doubt a notable author. There're two valid sources in the article already, and all of her other "alphabet" books have a page, so why did you single this one out? Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshellsOtter chirpsHELP) 00:07, 3 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • Okay. I still think it calls for a speedy close, as I can't imagine any of her alphabet books being non-notable. The series as a whole has received a ton of publicity, and some of the pages are fairly detailed, so I would imagine that you could write long articles on every book in the series. I'm pretty sure all of these have nicked the Best Sellers list at some point. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshellsOtter chirpsHELP) 00:20, 3 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the lovely message. I am glad you enjoyed my observations -- I don't insult people on Wikipedia (not intentionally, at least) and I try to give praise where it is due. And I have seen and enjoyed your input to the project, so I am glad that I could pay tribute to your offerings. I love the Bay Area -- I was in San Francisco last month and will be back there in October (it is my favourite U.S. city). Please feel free to stay in touch. I remember crossing paths with you in some AfD discussions (the name rings a bell, since I knew some people who emigrated to Chile and that is why I recalled you). I've also seen your DYK honours, which are impressive. I go to the Bay Area for a combination of business and pleasure. I usually like to ramble about and see where my feet take me (no agenda travel). Ecoleetage (talk) 03:38, 4 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
It is a fine-looking article. I might suggest combining the two political sections and perhaps moving the demographics section further up the piece. I saw a couple of places where copy editing might help, but I would only swing me axe with your permission (you clearly put a lot of work into this and I don't want to stick my thumbprints in without your OK). Re:Bruener Marsh

edit

It's definitely not a stub. To quote WP:STUB:

A stub is an article containing only a few sentences of text which is too short to provide encyclopedic coverage of a subject, but not so short as to provide no useful information. Sizable articles are usually not considered stubs, even if they lack wikification or copy editing. With these articles, a cleanup template is usually added instead of a stub template.

Bruener Marsh may still need expanding to give more information, and it may need wikification or other cleanup, but it is considerably longer than anything that could be considered a stub. Grutness...wha? 02:55, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I'd say bopth of those are still stubs. Keep up the good editing work - looks like you've been making good starts on several articles :) Grutness...wha? 03:54, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

At the moment it does read a bit like something you'd find oin the company's own website (which makes sense, seeing as that's where the link's to). To make it seem less advertisement like, consider the following things:

  • is it a proproetary brand name? If so, say so - if not, list some of the other companies making it
  • what is the history of the product? Who invented it and/or when was it first marketed?
  • how does it achieve this paste-like medium - is it a mix of chalk and ink, or something different?

If you can find out those things (or even just one or two of them) and add the info to the article, it might make the article a bit longer and less like an ad. Hope that helps, Grutness...wha? 04:20, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

A lot better now - it doesn't sound biased towards one company's product, and give more information about what they're made of. Still a stub and in need of further work, but a lot better than it was when you first started it. Good work :) Grutness...wha? 02:16, 11 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Breuner Airfield

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Breuner Airfield, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of Breuner Airfield

Breuner Airfield AfD.

edit

I got your back in that one. Good luck in winning that bad faith AfD. Ecoleetage (talk) 01:31, 11 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Bad faith? Is that what he told you? Go look at the edit histories for yourself. The Breuner Airfield page had insufficient refs to stand on its own from the start. I tried to help at first but couldn't find other independent refs. I put a notability tag on the page, but he just removed it. I gave up helping when User:Myheartinchile started an edit war over the category and list for Bay Area airports, continuously acting contrary to the criteria already listed on the page. He even started making edits to the criteria without any dialog on the talk page. Do you really have sympathy for that behavior? I had no alternative but to bring it to the attention of admins, because repeating these reverts would run against the three-revert rule. It was biting a hand that was trying to feed him (or more directly, driving away and attacking a volunteer who was trying to help.) One admin gave the assistance I requested by reverting the changes to the airport list & category. Another admin reviewed Breuner Airfield and determined it didn't have refs to justify notability and gave it an AfD nom - he said it would have qualified for speedy delete but did a prod and AfD to give the author the benefit of the doubt. If he claims this is bad faith, it's just sour grapes because things haven't gone the way he wanted - he needs to review his own actions first and not forget to assume good faith about others. Brushing aside established conventions predictably results in other editors acting to restore them. Ikluft (talk) 15:55, 11 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Forum-shopping for miscategorizing Breuner Airfield as an airport

edit

Please stop forum shopping to try to get Breuner Airfield into lists and categories of airports. Proof by assertion is not an acceptable method of finding consensus on Wikipedia. I've observed you posting the same or similar suggestions in Talk:Breuner Airfield, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Breuner Airfield, Talk:List of airports in the San Francisco Bay Area, Category talk:Airports in the San Francisco Bay Area, Category talk:Airports in the United States by state , Category talk:Airports in California and Talk:List of private-use airports in California. Yes, you've made it clear that you want to call Breuner Airfield an airport. You're entitled to your opinion. You have received and ignored answers from myself and other editors (some of whom are admins who responded when I asked for help dealing with this situation) saying that calling Breuner Airfield an airport is inappropriate, absurd and nonsense, among other responses. The Third Opinion that you solicited determined that "If it's in the US and the FAA doesn't call it an airport, it's not an airport." I have provided links to Wikipedia:WikiProject_Airports#Creation_Checklists showing that the WikiProject Airports uses the standard of starting with a ICAO, IATA and/or FAA airport code as the first step in creating any airport article - and the consensus there is that even just having an airport code alone is not enough to make an airport notable. Breuner Airfield is a model airplane field and it does not have any airport registration at all. Please accept the feedback of the Wikipedia community that it is inappropriate to pursue calling Breuner Airfield an airport. Please cease and desist from further edits and arguments to add it to lists of airports or enter it into any airport categories. Ikluft (talk) 00:08, 15 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm a little worried about the category you created: Category:LGBT topics in the San Francisco Bay Area. There are no other categories like this, so you're "breaking new ground" by creating it. Not necessarily a bad thing, just one that should be done thoughtfully :)

Hi, Myheartinchile, welcome to WikiProject LGBT Studies!

We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying, categorizing, and improving articles regarding lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and intersex people. LGBT Studies covers people, culture, history, and related subjects concerning sexual identity and gender identity - this covers a lot of ground and your help is appreciated! Some points that may be helpful:

  • Our main aim is to help improve articles, so if someone seeks help, please try to assist if you are able. Likewise feel free to ask for help, advice or clarification.
  • Many important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
  • If you have another language besides English, please consider adding yourself to our translation section, to help us improve our foreign LGBT topics.
  • The project has several ongoing and developing activities, such as article quality assessment, peer review and a project-wide article collaboration, all of which you are welcome to take part in. We also have a unique program to improve our lower quality articles, Jumpaclass, so please consider signing up there.
  • If you're going to stay awhile, please create a square in our project quilt! You can put anything you want in it.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

And once again - Welcome!

Proposed deletion of Visconti Triplets

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Visconti Triplets, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

no authentic sources supporting the fairly unusual claim of the article, only sourced information comes from a porn marketing site that fails WP:RS. Surprisingly low number of Google hits, given the expected pornspam.

Lord Chaitanya knows everything that happens in all three phases (past, present, and future, of time. He knows that in the future some demoni people will serve Lord Advaita.

Text 123

They will refer to Lord Advaita by the name "Shri Krishna". In this way they will reject the words of the true Vaishnavas.

Text 124

These sinners will thus disobey the devotees who affirm that Advaita is "the greatest Vaishnava".

Text 125

Many persons will consider themselves the followers of Lord Advaita, but they will not have the power to see how in the future they will be punished.

Text 126

Lord Chaitanya, the crest jewel of they who know everything, knew all this. Therefore He did something to try to stop this from happening.

Text 127

By punishing His mother, Lord Chaitanya showed the result that comes from offending Lord Advaita or any other Vaishnava.

Text 128

No one can protect a person who has offended a Vaishnava.

Text 129

Therefore one should avoid persons who offend Vaishnava.

Text 130

One should avoid an offender, even if the offender is otherwise very qualified. A little association with an offender will make one fall down.

Text 131

Who has the power to understand why the Lord gives punishment? By punishing His mother, He taught everyone.

Text 132

Anyone who blasphemes they who use the word `Vaishnava" to address Lord Advaita will be punished. He will perish.

Text 133

Lord Chaitanya is theSupreme Personality of Godhead, the master of all. To be called His follower is very great praise.

Text 134

Without any intention to deceive, Lord Chaitanya openly said that Lord Nityananda is the Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself.

Text 135

By Lord Nityananda's mercy I know Lord Chaitanya. By Lord Nityananda's mercy I know the Vaishnavas.

Text 136

By Lord Nityananda's mercy offenses are destroyed. By Lord Nityananda's mercy one attains devotion to Lord Vishnu.

Text 137

Blasphemy directed to Lord Nityananda's servants never enters my mouth. Day and night I happily sing Lord Chaitanya's glories

Text 138

I carefully serve Lord Nityananda's devotees. Lord Chaitanya is the life and wealth of Lord Nityananda's servants.

Text 139

A person who has only a little good fortune will not become Lord Nityananda's servant, for Lord Nityananda's servant is able to see Lord Chaitanya.

Text 140

Anyone who hears this story of Lord Visvarupa becomes a servant of the limitless Supreme Personality of Godhead. He feels that Lord Nityananda is his very life.

Text 141

Lord Nityananda and Lord Visvarupa do not have different bodies. This Mother Saci knew. Some other great souls also knew.

Text 142

Glory to Lord Nityananda, who takes shelter of Lord Chaitanya! Glory, glory to Lord Nityananda, who is thousand-faced Ananta Sesha!

Text 143

O Lord Nityananda, O king of Gauda-desa, glory to You! Who can attain Lord Chaitanya without first attaining Your mercy?

Text 144

Anyone who loses Lord Nityananda will not be happy in this life.

Text 145

Will I some day see Lord Chaitanya, Lord Nityananda, and their associates all thogether in one place?

Text 146

Lord Chaitanya is my master. With great faith and hope I meditate on Him within my heart.

Text 147

I bow down before Lord Advaita's feet. I pray that he will always be dear to me and that He will always stay in my thoughts.

Text 148

The two moons Shri Krishna Chaitanya and Shri Nityananda are my life and soul. I, Vrindavana dasa, sing the glories of Their feet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.132.82.156 (talk) 13:58, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

See Wiki Loves Pride 2014 for more information. If you are interested, you might consider creating a page for a major city (or cities!) near you, with a list of LGBT-related articles that need to be created or improved. • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 09:05, 19 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Wiki Loves Pride 2016

edit

As a participant of WikiProject LGBT studies, you are invited to participate in the third annual Wiki Loves Pride campaign, which runs through the month of June. The purpose of the campaign is to create and improve content related to LGBT culture and history. How can you help?

  1. Create or improve LGBT-related Wikipedia pages and showcase the results of your work here
  2. Document local LGBT culture and history by taking pictures at pride events and uploading your images to Wikimedia Commons
  3. Contribute to an LGBT-related task force at another Wikimedia project (Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, Wikivoyage, etc.)

Looking for topics? The Tasks page, which you are welcome to update, offers some ideas and wanted articles.

This campaign is supported by the Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group, an officially recognized affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation. The group's mission is to develop LGBT-related content across all Wikimedia projects, in all languages. Visit the affiliate's page at Meta-Wiki for more information, or follow Wikimedia LGBT+ on Facebook. Remember, Wiki Loves Pride is about creating and improving LGBT-related content at Wikimedia projects, and content should have a neutral point of view. One does not need to identify as LGBT or any other gender or sexual minority to participate. This campaign is about adding accurate, reliable information to Wikipedia, plain and simple, and all are welcome! If you have any questions, please leave a message on the campaign's talk page.

Thanks, and happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:39, 30 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Locofeverposter.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Locofeverposter.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 11 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
