Image copyright problem with Image:PanasonicPhone.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:PanasonicPhone.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 20:53, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:GreenBandJuno.JPEG)
Thanks for uploading Image:GreenBandJuno.JPEG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Fair use rationale for Image:Cont.US.JPEG
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Cont.US.JPEG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Melesse (talk) 23:53, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

Hey again. I noticed this from your previous message on my talk page. Your signature must contain at least one link to either your user page, user talk page, and/or contributions page (see WP:SIGLINK). Currently your signature does not contain any links which means SineBot treats all your messages as unsigned. I suggest you change your signature to the following:

Hmm?
Superheroes
Excuse me Sir/Ma'am, but if my recent addition of information to the superhero page was a "violation of Wikipedia policies", then I am afraid to say that Wikipedia seems to have a policy of concealing the truth if it is sensitive, although verified (having used Wikipedia over several years, I am sure that's not true). If you have ever read about a superhero (if you haven't, I suggest you read that very same article on Wikipedia. Oh, and do check out the photo of Superman on that page), you will know that the edit I made added a vital piece of missing information to that page. If my language was offensive, why don't you enter the same information (which is, as I said, a very pertaining, albeit ignored piece of information on superheroes) yourself somewhere on the page in the language that you prefer?
Constructive
I'm afraid I don't see why my edit to the page V Festival was non-constructive. I deleted a broken table, and left the fixed table underneath it. If it is wikipedia's policy to leave broken tables, then the site's policy itself seems non-constructive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.100.10.16 (talk) 16:17, 16 July 2011 (UTC)
Your request for rollback
Hi Lukep913. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! FASTILY (TALK) 23:37, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

No vandalism was caused.
Facts!
They were facts, were they not...? =)
- Hello, page blanking and vandalism are not tolerated on Wikipedia, unless you provide an edit summary. Even if they were facts, please add them right into the article correctly and use reliable sources. Thank you. -- Luke Talk 22:59, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Big signature = Big issue (to some)
Hi,
your signature is too big. Using the 'big' tags the way you do since 10 August 2011(UTC) is against policy. I personally don't have an issue with that, but it's known to drive some other wikipedians up the wall.
While there is no hard limit how many pixels a sig may occupy, and yours wouldn't violate it anyway if there were one, some oppose big tags in sigs vehemently. So...
Please remove the two pairs of 'big' and '/big' tags. Cheers. - ¡Ouch! (hurt me / more pain) 09:38, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks for telling me, I removed them. -- Luke (Talk) 14:04, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from Nettrom (talk), SuggestBot's caretaker.

In regard to this article, after it was tagged for speedy deletion, the article creator blanked the whole page. That means that they agreed to the speedy deletion. In such a case, rather than reverting the blanking, one should tag the page with {{db-author}} to indicate that the article creator has blanked the page and thus consented to speedy deletion. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 00:02, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your help with the vital work of patrolling new pages. I noticed that you are not marking some of the pages you've reviewed as patrolled. Please do remember to click the 'mark this page as patrolled' link at the bottom of the new page if you have performed the standard patrolling tasks. Where appropriate, doing so saves time and work by informing fellow patrollers of your review of the page, so that they do not duplicate efforts. Thanks again for volunteering your time at the new pages patrol project. DoDo Bird Brain (talk) 22:01, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- The reason I don't mark pages as "patrolled" is because I don't get to new articles from NewPages. Rather, I view them from the edit filter log, so it doesn't show "Mark as Patrolled". Hope this clears it up. -- Luke (Talk) 22:08, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

Dear Luke,
Thank you for your remarks. I am working particularly on Wiki bios of people I know. I was logged in as Grammarian99 but For example, I was forgot my password, couldn't retrieve it to a valid email address, so re-joined as Grammarian999.
I was once a philosophy student under John Silber, the former gubernatorial candidate (1990) for governor of Massachusetts. I have been trying to wiki his bio to present more NPOV and more citations from external sources. In researching Dr. Silber, he commented that Stevin Hoover was one of the most interesting students he ever had over his long career as a philosophy professor. So that took me to Stevin Hoover, who as it turns out was incarcerated in the early 2000s for a white-collar crime. I have tried to take a public domain photo of Stevin Hoover and load it onto his wiki bio, and I have tried to post a "bio box" on Hoover to the right after digging through records of his marriages and children and books he's written and so forth.
I can't get the box to work, and I can't get a public domain photo (of which there are many, including the YouTube of him) uploaded onto his wiki bio.
Any help you might have! Thanks. G. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Grammarian999 (talk • contribs) 00:32, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

Hello Lukep913. Thanks for patrolling new pages - it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know however, regarding Tyrone Tucker, that tagging articles for speedy deletion moments after creation as lacking context (CSD A1) or content (CSD A3), and articles being created through Article Wizard, is too fast. It's best to wait at least 10 - 15 minutes for more content to be added, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), and copyright violations (G12) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. Cind.amuse (Cindy) 05:45, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

I saw that you undid the last vandalous edit that 71.72.246.59 inflicted on Cristina Valenzuela. Anyway, the self-called "Vee Vanquishers" just struck again, but I undid that vandalism. But what do we do about this user so it doesn't happen again? One of this user's first edits was posting an obnoxious message on Brian Beacock's talk page: [[2]].Crboyer (talk) 19:22, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
- Hello Crboyer, first you need to leave the vandal adequate warnings to stop vandalizing Wikipedia. If they continue to vandalize after the final warning, report them to the WP:AIV so an Administrator can block them. Hope this helps. -- Luke (Talk) 19:24, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
Explanations
Hi. I am very happy you asked for an explanation. Here you go:
- The article you nominated is under-prepared. The prose is not good (not to say bad). Formatting of references has to be checked again. Have you read WP:LEAD?
- The song has just been released and the music video premiered less than three days ago. The article fails WP:RECENTISM.
- More information about the song will come up in the weeks to come. Rihanna cannot stopped herself form giving interviews here an there.
- May i know how many contributions you made to that article? Since you nominated it, i take the liberty to guess you have contributed at least 50 times to that article???

- You are welcome my friend. So are you a fan of Rihanna? ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 17:44, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
- Yes. I can kill for her. I am joking. Lol. And what about you? ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 17:48, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
- Lol. I hope you are not telling me that because you got afraid when i wrote that i can kill for Beyonce??? Lol. For me, Beyonce is my Queen. All i want in life is a wife like her. ★Jivesh 1205★ (talk / ♫♫Give 4 a try!!!♫♫) 18:03, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
Bro, I am not that smart of a guy. Removing that line break hurts me. I am trying to tackle the introduction of that article (which is really above my head), should I put in a hidden comment to prevent other editors from doing that? I am in the midst of editing History of the St. Louis Rams, Frank Filchock, requesting a split of Filchock off to Filchock-Hapes scandal...Leaving that line break in allows me to just concentrate on something new for the introduction....don't respond to me please...I am in the middle of 5 articles right now and I easily get confused. 66.234.33.8 (talk) 18:48, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
- I can easily add them back if you want me to. -- Luke (Talk) 18:54, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
- No, it's cool. I just finished the prelimiary first draft edits of the mergers. I am out of the woods now. If I were you, next time, check activity of the user's. My log should show me being hot on multiple articles within the last 1.5 hours, at the very least. Suggest waiting 3.5 hours before that kind of edit, thanks. My edits are not really that good...but they are important because I want Bell better....BTW. you can are absolutely welcome to improve the introduction of Bell if you want...I am not that bright to write cohesive and concise introductions that follow wikipedia lead :) I am done for the day. Common problem across all of wikipedia is that experienced users do not check logs...I mean they are very handy. It's not u, it's everyone 66.234.33.8 (talk) 19:03, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
- Well, thank you for letting me know. If you need any help about Wikipedia, just ask. -- Luke (Talk) 19:05, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, I will. It has to do with Paul Robeson and the poem template thingie. I don't know how to do formatting. I'll hit you with it later. Basically, I want to include a center-justified, 4-line, poem but I do not know how to do any kind of formatting, html thingies. Btw, here's my contributions to Bert Bell [3] 66.234.33.8 (talk) 19:10, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

Regarding the Paul Robeson issue, do you mean block quotations? -- Luke (Talk) 19:15, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
- cool, i'll play with that in the sandbox later...that looks really helpful :). I'll let you know if I fail to achieve what i want. I have to work with other authorstoo. But that looks really helpful 66.234.33.8 (talk) 19:39, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
I want ensuing snippet to be center justified 2 line or 4 line poem. The original was a 4 line poem (see Talk:Paul Robeson#Just Football Authors). I looked for about an hour in featured articles and could not find how to do it (maybe that's a sign it don't belong in an article), but how do you do this for a 4 line center justified poem:
- All hats off to Robey, men,
- All honor to his name!
- On the diamond, court or football field
- He's brought old Rutgers fame.
Err, I don't know how to correctly point you to that subject heading on that talk page, I tried though 66.234.33.8 (talk) 08:49, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
- Is this what you mean?
All hats off to Robey, men,
All honor to his name!
On the diamond, court or football field
He's brought old Rutgers fame.
I just used <poem> and <blockquote> tags. -- Luke (Talk) 11:34, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, another stupid question. I can (more or less) put like 5 citations for every statement in the bell article, which makes it really ugly. I mean only 1 person added 1 citation in that article since its inception...I mean there's no one even adding any content to have a contraversy with. I decided to cut down to at most 2 citations ever for one topic; ideally one online citation and one not online citation. I've stripped 75 unnecessary duplicate citations from that article in last 2 weeks or so. Any opinion if that's right or wrong. I think I can strip another 85 citations from it (just a gut feeling) 66.234.33.8 (talk) 21:55, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
- It's fine to remove duplicate citations. If one statement needs the same citation as another statement, you can add a named footnote (see WP:NAMEDREFS for more information). Remember, if you remove the citations and another edits reverts to an older version be prepared to explain why you removed the citations. -- Luke (Talk) 22:04, 25 October 2011 (UTC)

Barnstar
I don't know if you'd recognize me, but in the past I was highly active as a recent changes patroller and administrator, helping to handle vandalism and other important issues on the site. In early 2010, I found myself getting busy with life outside of Wikipedia and lapsed into inactivity, only editing anonymously from time to time. Just a few weeks ago, we happened to cross paths in the midst of an article in crisis. You handled the incident well, accepting my help with the vandalism and preventing some damage yourself -- when I went to request semi-protection for the page, I was surprised to edit conflict with your own request! -- and you even took a moment to welcome me. I was impressed. It was good to see someone who so obviously cares about preserving the site, doing the same things I used to do so often, and doing them well.
Since my very positive encounter with you, I've felt motivated to return to Wikipedia, helping out where I can. My record can speak for itself: I've reverted tens of thousands of vandalistic edits, and have logged over 20,000 admin actions in my tenure here. If I ever achieve that level of activity, again -- and even if I don't -- you should know that you played a part in my return. The community will have you to thank for that, and so will I.
It's been a long time since I've given anyone a barnstar; all these new ones don't really seem to fit. I notice you've been around for a while, yourself, so maybe you'll appreciate the old school standard.

Sorry that was my daughter-in-law who did the edits. Thanks for noticing it , I was very busy doing my work and I didn't know that she would tell that to her to do it. For this , You will get this. LUKE LOL TING WEN (talk) 15:09, 29 October 2011 (UTC) |

I want to upload this image to Wikimedia Commons. I do not see any copyright notice, however I do not want to assume it is public domain. Can somebody verify the copyright (if any) for me? Much appreciated. -- Luke (Talk) 14:30, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
- As Commons have their own standards and rules, which sometimes differ from ours, I suggest you ask at Commons:Help desk. JohnCD (talk) 16:13, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
