Help with another article about Verizon?

edit

Hello again Jim.henderson, I'm reaching out to you to see if you might be willing to help with another article about Verizon, Verizon Enterprise Solutions. The current article is very short, as you can see, so I drafted a more complete version, which I uploaded to my userspace. Would you have the time to review the draft I wrote and, if everything is acceptable, replace the article with my draft? I'm open to any questions or comments you have.

Thanks so much, VZBob (talk) 16:48, 5 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Wonderment at U.S. Constitution

edit

A couple years back you helped save the U.S. Constitution article from my overwriting, shortening it by taking much of my contribution and placing it into the History of the U.S. Constitution article, for which I am grateful.

Now, over the last couple weeks, Drdpw is doing yeoman work in rewriting the United States Constitution article. No consensus is established for his reorganization, but there does not seem to be any objection beyond my occasional lone remonstrance. It seems to me the article is losing its topical organization of the text, resulting in a mere listing. The table of contents is becoming a wall of enumeration without conveying any sensible information for the general reader. Each section heading contains only one paragraph.

I like much of Drdpw's actual text writing, summarizing the description of amendments in one voice without the back and forth of previous wiki-edits. But I would appreciate any explanation or justification beyond that already made by Drdpw, --- that his reorganization makes the U.S. Constitution article table of contents resemble Lists. I do not find that persuasive, I would appreciate your help in understanding why the Drdpw revision is better than the previous framework. I am happy to concur with the new outcome if I am overlooking something, I was just wondering what I am missing in my editorial insight. Thanks in advance. New HABS backlog

edit

Have you and I been the only people moving the backlog of images from the Historic American Building Survey, vaguely categorized as bing "New York City?" Because for the record, if you thin this is bad, you should see Philadelphia. It makes me wonder how many other cities have this backlog. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 03:07, 14 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Chicago is also big; Newark and Savannah are smaller. So, we've got a mass of roughly categorized, mostly urban, USA pictures. Hey; it could be worse. I think the majority of Commons pix uploaded in the first half of the year had no topical or geographical category at all. So, we shall pick up our little shovels and shovel them down to smaller cats and new ones. Slowly, in my case. Hmm; is this the right place to discuss it? Jim.henderson (talk) 15:59, 14 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
Well, you did announce it on the WP:NYPT talk page, but is there another place we can address this issue? I've still got quite a few categories I want to make because of them, though. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 16:31, 14 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
The relevant city Wikiprojects, I guess. Too bad there's no such thing in Commons. There, it's the talk pages of the categories or of our fellow habitual cat wranglers, each of which is too small, or Village Pump which is too big. As it happens, I have entered a series of busy days and will spend less time at the computer. Jim.henderson (talk) 20:24, 15 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Merge consideration

edit

I'm actually thinking of merging the article on the Queens County Farm Museum into the article on the Cornell Farmhouse as a separate section, just like I did with the Queens Office of the Register into the Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning. Any reason why I shouldn't? ---------User:DanTD (talk) 03:23, 26 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Oops, I got distracted by other fun including my probable visit to Tottenville tomorrow. Anyway vice versa is the right way. The house is operated as part of the Queens Farm Museum. Apparently someone got confused by the red paint on the west and south sides of the house and yellowish on the east, and called one of them "Adriance" and the other "Cornel". When I visited there with a biker gang a month or two ago (same bunch tomorrow, come to think of it) they looked like different sides of the same house. Jim.henderson (talk) 15:26, 27 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I'm finally working on it. There are some discrepancies on how much of it is located either in Floral Park or Glen Oaks. Let me know what you think. If it's bad, I can always revert it. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 19:10, 11 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Help with a new section for Verizon article?

edit

Hello again Jim.henderson, I'm reaching out to you to see if you have time to look at a new draft I am suggesting for the Verizon Communications article. While I know that you haven't been able to assist with my last queries, I have generally struggled to find other editors to help, so I hope you don't mind if I ask you again! The new draft is to add a section to the article about Verizon's "Corporate responsibility", which is not covered in the article at all now. You can find the draft in my userspace. My request is on the Talk page, here. If you have time, do you think you could take a look at the draft and move it over into the article if it looks good? I'm open to any suggestions or questions you have.
