Merge

edit

The car/product and the company are fail the requirements to have separate articles WP:CORP. Generally the company would be the landing page. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 21:15, 15 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Makes sense to me, even apart from the relevant guidelines, especially if the redirect from Lykan HyperSport goes specifically to that section on the W Motors page. I've never done a page merge before, though, so I think I'd prefer to let someone else do it so I can learn by example. —GrammarFascist (talk) 16:52, 17 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
I'm happy with the status quo - both the car and the company are notable in their own rights, so not sure what the benefit would be in merging them, at this point in time. Likely outcome would be technical bumf cluttering up the company article. Warren (talk) 09:14, 18 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
I can see your point, too, Warren. I am far from being an expert in cars, which in some ways makes me a good person to edit articles like this one, but in other ways leaves me lacking necessary understanding. I have no idea which technical specifications should be mentioned here versus which should be saved for the separate article on the Lykan HyperSport. Would you be willing to tidy up the relevant section on this page? —GrammarFascist contribstalk 15:42, 29 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
I think the merging would have made sense if W Motors had been a one-model marque, like so many other supercar builders. However, now that they have presented their second model, the Fenyr, which eventually may (should) get its own page too, I think the articles must be preserved as they are and keep building from here. The situation is now analogous to Pagani (automobile) or Hennessey Performance Engineering.El monty (talk) 13:16, 15 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
Closing, given consensus not to merge. Klbrain (talk) 23:35, 21 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Nationality

edit

The page notes the brand as being Emirati (from the UAE), yet the company was founded in Lebabon (making them Lebanese), so wouldn't it be more accurate to classify them as "Lebanese-Ermirati"? SInce, as they were founded in Lebanon, they are a Lebanese company. Redstoneprime (talk) 18:42, 14 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

They were a Lebanese company and then relocated. Now they are are an Emirati company after relocating to the UAE. They don't claim to be Lebanese, and W Motors SAL can no longer be found in the Lebanese Commercial Register (you can find BW Motors LLC though). Their website uses the .ae TLD, which is only available to local entities who must present business registration documents. The article makes clear this distinction between where the company was founded and where it is now.

update?

edit

This page appears to not have had any updates in years. The website for wmotors.ae is dead. Does the company still exist and what happened to all the plans mentioned in the page?
