Renaming article
editI believe this article should be moved to Thomas Nelson (company) or perhaps Thomas Nelson (publishing company). WP:NAME#Companies says:
- When disambiguation is needed, legal status, main company interest or "(company)" can be used to disambiguate: for example, Nike, Inc., Halifax (bank) or Converse (company).
Thomas Nelson (publisher) is not specific enough, given that the article mentions another publisher named Thomas Nelson. So what's the best name that completely identifies this company? --Steven Fisher 17:23, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
Copyright and the Bible
editI have removed this:
- "Thomas Nelson today cites passages from the bible, and claims to hold a copyright on them. The Bible is widely recognized as a work in the public domain."
In fact, all modern versions of the Bible have a copyright. Since it predates the concept of copyright, the original work is PD, but modern translations have copyrights.
Various editions of Nelson's New King James Version of the Bible have a total of 31 registered US copyrights. . Jim - Jameslwoodward (talk to me • contribs) 21:13, 29 December 2015 (UTC)
