Archive

I seperated the first archive because it will be annoying when it takes ages to transfer you into here.--Woop-Woop That's the sound of da Police 14:42, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Dollabill3x added new information but did not give the source. Also the addition was overly long and convoluted. I'm just wondering if Dollabill3x is the same Dollabill who was mentioned in the added material? If so, this is a violation of WikiP policy.

For Dollabill3x, please find outside sources for this new material. Thank you so much

Fair use rationale for Image:ButtonsSample.ogg

Image:ButtonsSample.ogg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

"Snoop"

I want to mention something. The word Snoop is also a diss against Bloods/Damus. The name Snoop Dogg is literally a play on words such as bloods call eacthother dawgs and adding snoop would reference that your a Crip. So Snoop Dogg is a play on words that are gangrelated. Also not to mention Snoop Dogg is formally a Rolling 30 Long Beach Crip.Snoop is an older diss though and may not have much meaning as it did back in the 1990's including the crip diss ricket which is no longer used as I am aware of. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.41.9.70 (talk) 20:56, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Surname?

How would you sort his name in a list? Under S treating it as a single (albeit two-part) stage name, or under D, treating it a a standard name? —MJBurrage(TC) 01:01, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

S, I think. Carl.bunderson (talk) 19:15, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

First Artist to Ever Release a Ringtone Prior to a Single

I'm not entirely sure where that information came from (seeing as I can't find any sort of source near it), but I'm almost positive it's incorrect as quite a few artists have done this. Two examples I can get off the top of my head are the bands Eighteen Visions and Linkin Park releasing the singles "Tonightless" and "What I've Done" (respectively) as a ringtone prior to the full versions of the songs being released in any format. Unless someone provides some sort of source that states Snoop was the first to do this, I think it should be removed. (74.243.198.147 (talk) 08:06, 7 March 2008 (UTC))

Added Singer

I've added singer to the article after "rapper" as in Sexual Eruption, he is singing for the most part, not rapping. Save-Me-Oprah(talk) 12:52, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

"Izzle" origin

I haven't heard a lot of Gap Band songs, but I was under the impression they created the "izzay" slang, which Snoop also used in the early part of his career. Did they actually ever use "izzle"?68.164.85.197 (talk) 21:15, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Music Samples

The music samples should be diverse in showing Snoop's talent. The way they are now, one of them is an R. Kelly song, the other two are pop crossover songs. There should at least one of his gangsta rap songs, since that's what he does first and foremost.68.164.85.197 (talk) 21:22, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Oh yeah whats your fuckin point smart ass user:Mcanmoocanu
He was introduced to the studio in 1991. So don't revert. --Flesh-n-Bone (talk·contributions) 21:37, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
yo listen to "fly like an eagle" by game wc and snoop dogg he definitely says "established since 1992" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.173.192.29 (talk) 07:58, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
What tells you he was introduced in 91. Dude hes menioned it on Neva Have 2 Worry and his first record Deep Cover was recorded and released in 1992, so im just gonna keep reverting. Mcanmoocanu

The link given for his name being Cordozar Calvin Broadus, Jr, his official website, gives his name as Calvin "Snoop Dogg" Broadus, so that would appear to be wrong. Other sources, such as the one below, also linked on this page give his birthname as Calvin Cordozar, which fits in with the official website if he is not using his middle name.

Quite a dull explanation for a fairly minor edit really —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.109.151.135 (talk) 05:54, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

age discrepancy

snoop's year of birth in the main article is 1972. In the module on right under Background Information, his year of birth is 1972.

also there is discrepancy in the references 4, 5, 6 for his year of birth ... some state 1972 ... but then reference 5:

http://www.wargs.com/other/broadus.html

states 1971 as his year of birth.

fyi ... somebody needs to clean all that up ... i don't have edit access to the page —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.17.148.152 (talk) 21:26, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

its 71, hes said it before on the production of Bones. User:Mcanmoocanu

Izzle

Izzle wasn't developed mid-90's. Snoop uses it on doggy style if not earlier. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.101.68.51 (talk) 21:21, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

can somebody tell me the full name of that song ... snoop upside your head ? thanks... peace —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.117.81.66 (talk) 09:13, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Grammatical Error

In the section Early Life, it says that Snoop Dogg performed at Golgotha Trinity Baptist Church church. There is one too many churches in the that sentence. One needs to be deleted. (Justjunk (talk) 18:27, 30 May 2008 (UTC))

Endorsements - blunts

I've seen adverts for snoop dogg blunt papers in the UK, if someone finds out more maybe this can go in the endorsements section? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.96.168.182 (talk) 18:30, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

So Snoop sings in one song and is labelled a 'singer'?

Didn't Eminem also sing in "Hailie's Song"? Does that make him a singer as well?

Surely this label should be reserved for rappers who actually sing regularly (and, of course, actual singers). For example, Pharrell, will.i.am and Timbaland often sing. James25402 (talk) 18:55, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

"Bluegrass/country album"?

I heard online and on Chicago's radio station WGCI that Snoop Dogg is going to release a "bluegrass" album that will be a tribute to Johnny Cash. Everyone seemed to really not believe him and joked about it a lot, but he stood behind it. Can anyone cite that for me? If it turns out it is a hoax, feel free to undo my edits... Long Beach, the hood?

Since when is Long Beach considered a hood? Ive been all over Long Beach and I cant imagine how he claims to have been raised in the ghetto. He claims that on albums, his TV Show, there should be a line at the beginning explaining that where he was born and raised was and is not considered a poor ghetto, that in fact he grew up in a decent area and went to one of the better schools in the L.A area. Then later on he chose to join a gang, that I'm not sure exists frankly as the only rollin 20's Im aware of are actually Bloods, and commit crimes. Its annoying to me, someone that grew up in Watts, that he can get away with this claim. Fish2 (talk) 23:55, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Didn't Snoop Dogg have a brand of clothes?

Yes , It's SDC ( snoop Dogg Company )

      • And another question - Snoop's youngest child - Cori. Is she his biological daughter? She looks very different from

his other children and I've read rumors concerning this question.

Murder was the case

How can a list of legal problems not include the time that him and a bodyguard smoked that fool and walked? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.63.88.111 (talk) 20:17, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Name change

Why did he change his stage name from Snoop Doggy Dogg to Snoop Dogg? This change happened right after he left Death Row Records, so I wonder if legal issues may have been involved? Adlerschloß (talk) 18:13, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Stop Removing Background!!!

We have his biography and stuff backed up with sources, and some people keep removing it.

It is not a good article to just have one's legal issues as the main topic. There is no biography whatsoever and if you're not going to have a biography, remove the whole article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by X4xSandmanx2X (talkcontribs) 19:06, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Associated Acts?

Willie Nelson is an associated act? Is this a joke? Citation please. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sherlockmcbride (talkcontribs) 01:48, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

He also appeared on an episode of "Just Shoot Me" where finch became his personal assistant. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.170.47.107 (talk) 03:13, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

Rollin 60s Crips

Why is his gang status not a part of his biography? We all know he is a Crip, he sings about it in his songs. He's still flagin' on his show. Stop deleting his gang status. maximus92 (talk) 18:53, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

This must get asked constantly. Read WP:BLP please maximus92. We require reliable third party sources for any claims regarding living person biographies. Thanks!! JBsupreme (talk) 04:01, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

Birthday is incorrect in the article!

Help!! I can't change it for some reason!! The first line is listed as 1972, the date under his bio pic is 1971... SHEESH come on people!!
