Please, some mod should check this page. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 200.104.35.20 (talk) 02:54, 11 March 2007 (UTC).Reply

Trivia

edit

The trivia section on Sergio Ramos is rather large, and looks untidy. Since i am not completely clear on how the rules for trivias go, i would like to have a discussion on this. Jackrm 22:39, 25 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Transfer Rumours

edit

I have removed the mentions of Sergio Ramos moving away from Madrid at the end of this season, as it is just rumours, and the player himself has stated that he wants to remain at Madrid for the rest of his life. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Arakorn (talkcontribs) 20:23, 18 May 2008 (UTC) He will join the Egyptian club Zamalek. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.142.65.217 (talk) 03:40, 2 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Flag after win?

edit

The T-shirt is explained in the article (already) but what flag was he wearing? Doesn't he like his national colours? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.2.142.154 (talk) 21:26, 29 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

That was the flag of Andalucia, I think. (talk) 12:34, 14 March 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.241.151.161 (talk) Reply

Intro

edit

"He is currently sponsored by Nike."

Isn't it a little awkward to put that sentence at the end of the introduction?

Most sent-off player

edit

Do we have a source? BDFutbol.com lists Carlos Marchena as having been sent off 13 times, although I'm unsure as to whether this is in all competitions or league only, and in the league whether it's La Liga only, or across all levels of professional football. He has been sent-off on average once every 19 games to Marchena's once every 21, but nonetheless, I doubt that makes him the most sent-off player, which should surely be the player who has been sent off the most as opposed to the most often. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.7.35.133 (talk) 14:10, 12 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

-This should be included in the article. Ramos doesn't have the red card record yet, but it would be shocking if he didn't end up with an unsurmountable red card record by the end of his career. Please include a section regarding his discipline statistics as it is both relevant and noteworthy information to include in the article. This statistic should be available on ESPN soccernet and marca.com --76.170.29.216 (talk) 05:46, 22 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

I think there should be a discipline secion aswell. He got sent off twice in the last 2 months. Oct-Dec 2010. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.141.60.219 (talk) 07:48, 26 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Found the stats: He got 87 yellow cards and 12 red cards since 2005/2006

Ramos is the most sent off player in the La Liga, and has the most cards total in the La Liga as well [1]. Additionally, he has the most cards in the Champions League [2], and has the most cards in the Spanish national team as well [3]. Oh and also, his card record in the La Liga beats every player in all major European leagues [4].

In conclusion: most (total and red, his yellow record is 1 behind the leading record holder) cards in the La Liga and in every European major league. Most cards in the Champions League. Most cards in the Spanish national team. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ossyrial (talkcontribs) 08:23, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Section entitled 'Manchester United' is both unsourced and more importantly untrue. This should be removed entirely. The first sentence of the article reads "Sergio Ramos García (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈserxjo ˈramoz ɣarˈθi.a]; born 30 March 1986) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for english club Manchester United." this should instead read "Sergio Ramos García (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈserxjo ˈramoz ɣarˈθi.a]; born 30 March 1986) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Real Madrid.". Furthermore the table beneath the picture lists "Current team - Manchester United" this should also read "Current team - Real Madrid" Torinoscale (talk) 16:40, 26 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please change the contents of the Disciplinary section to:

Ramos holds multiple disciplinary records, in the Champions League, La Liga, and in the Spanish national team.

Ramos holds the record for being the most carded player in the La Liga, with 173 cards. 19 of those are red cards, making him the most sent off player in the La Liga as well. He is one yellow card away from having a tie with Alberto Lopo, the current record holder for La Liga yellow cards[1]. His Primera División card record is higher than any other records in the major European league, making him the most prolific card receiver in all major European leagues[2].

In the Champions League, Sergio Ramos has amassed 35 yellow cards and 3 red cards (2 of which were straight red), making him the most carded player in Champions League history[3].

Lastly, Ramos has the record for the Spanish national team as well, being the most carded player in the history of the Spanish national team[2]. Ossyrial (talk) 09:01, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Considered one of the Best in his generation

edit

I have added this statement to Sergio Ramos as if you check the Wikipedia page for Gerard Pique, the sources that have listed him as one of the best of his generation also have Ramos in this list, where he comes ahead of Pique in the 3 sources used for this statement.

Sergio's Height

edit

Hello. So I just saw a video clip of the Madrid players lining up for a CL match back in 2017. Is Sergio really 6'0? If so, then how come in Keylor Navas' page, it says that Navas is 6'1, yet in the clip, Ramos is taller than Navas? 112.201.100.204 (talk) 13:39, 5 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Needs an updated jpg

edit

I recommend adding a recent jpg from 2024 of Ramos 41.234.47.240 (talk) 22:12, 17 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

If you have a copyright-free one, go ahead. Usually these requests are for updating the image because the player has a new team, but I notice the box picture doesn't have him in a football kit at all. Has he really changed beyond recognition from 35 to 38 and requires an updated picture? Unknown Temptation (talk) 20:14, 20 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
