- No tags of any sort on the article, well done
- Would a break between club and international career in the lead be appropriate?
- A bit on playing style, using the sources given later, would be necessary in the lead
- In his Zurich career, the noun "17 year old" should be spelt "17-year-old"
- Would it be appropriate to unpipe "derby" into "Zurich Derby", to ensure that the reader knows that it is a city derby rather than a regional one? It is not evident from the name Grasshopper that they share a city with his team.
- "going the full ninety in an entertaining 2–3 defeat ". The tone here could be improved. Something more encyclopedic like "playing the full 90 minutes". It is POV to say the match was entertaining, especially as the reference is a statistic sheet rather than a match report.
- "were parachuted into the Europa League" is this tone appropriate? "dropped into" (without the "were") is used by most football media I've heard
- "beating out the likes of": I would write "ahead of"
- Wolfsburg: again, as a noun, it is "19-year-old"
- 2014-15: using "the Wolves" as a substitute for Wolfsburg is not really advised, as football nicknames often remain strictly untranslated.
- Has any new prognosis come for his recent injury? "A number of weeks" can be improved.
- "U-xx" and "Uxx" are used to represent international youth teams in this article's prose. Please pick one format and stick with it.
- No problems with sources, all from reputable media
In conclusion, with these very small solutions, this is a GA article. '''tAD''' (talk) 19:54, 4 November 2014 (UTC)

Ricardo Rodríguez (footballer) → Ricardo Rodriguez (footballer) – Surname appears to be spelt without the diacritic. His club and national team websites spell his surname without the diacritics, as does FIFA's 2018 World Cup squad list (FIFA's squad lists tend to be accurate with spellings) and the subject's Instagram page. The name is typically spelt with the diacritic in Spanish-speaking countries but seemingly not in the subject's native Switzerland. Mattythewhite (talk) 21:54, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

- Support per nomination and GiantSnowman. Subject is a Swiss citizen, born in Switzerland, and does not use a Spanish accent mark in his surname. He is not unique in this respect — the disambiguation page main title header is "Ricardo Rodriguez", not "Ricardo Rodríguez" and a number of the men listed there do not accent their surnames. If consensus consents, would also support Ricardo Rodriguez (footballer, born 1992) since Ricardo Rodríguez (football manager), who is Spanish and does use an accent in his surname, has also been a footballer. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 19:47, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose per the spelling in the offical UEFA game report. Please note that on the website of the Swiss national team, all diacritics that are not common in any of the national languages (ä, ö, ü, à, é, è etc.) are left out. --Leyo 08:45, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
- FIFA should not be regarded as an official source for diacritics, look at any of the Spanish-speaking countries in the linked FIFA document and you will see nearly all the accents are missing. Also note that social media is not always authoritative, as mentioned at Talk:Rafael Tolói#Requested move 17 June 2021. S.A. Julio (talk) 22:49, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose for these reasons and per Leyo. S.A. Julio (talk) 17:55, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
- Strongly oppose for the above reasons. Wikipedia should not submit to mainstream ignorance and/or laziness. Furthermore, are we going to discuss this in several random articles and slowly end with the diacritics? It really seems to me that that's happening here. - I started this RM as the evidence is overwhelming that this individual's name is spelt without the diacritics. You seem to be working on the assumption that names which include diacritics in their place of origin are spelt the same in all other countries. This is not necessarily the case, see Christian Pulisic as an example. And I'm sorry, but your implication that this is part of some conspiracy to start the process of removing all diacritics from articles is ridiculous. Mattythewhite (talk) 22:54, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
- And I find ridiculous all this anti-diacritics, especially made randomly. Making an example from the US is laughable, they are the worst "offenders" here. The Replicator (talk) 10:39, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
- Interesting. So what you're saying, essentially, is that we should seek to change the legal spellings of subjects' names, because in other countries they happen to written differently? Mattythewhite (talk) 17:03, 7 July 2021 (UTC)

- Support, I was also considering an opposition, but Mattythewhite's last arguement changed my mind. Greetings from Switzerland. Huligan0 (talk) 23:13, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
