Question
editwhy has the list of municipalities with the population been removed? it is still available in the german wikipedia. originally i had also put it in the english one. if it was moved to another place, i could not find it. rbl
the population numbers from Census of Nepal (national report vs vdc/municipality ) is not consistent. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.24.53.139 (talk) 23:34, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
72 new municipalities and populations
editthere are different lists with many different names for the new municipalities. that is why, at the moment, there are 10 names too many in the list. the names still need to be sorted out. i'm working on it.
anyone changing the listed populations, please only do so if new official data is at hand. the last census was 2011.Sundar1 (talk) 14:21, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
- the list has been sorted out and now contains 134 names inclucing the 4 municipalities which are still disputed.Sundar1 (talk) 10:57, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
Metropolitan, sub-metropolitan and major municipalities
editthe list Metropolitan, sub-metropolitan and major municipalities should be deleted as it contains no relevant additional information and some cities have been randomly added. area and region could be included in the complete list, but i do not consider them necessary.Sundar1 (talk) 05:44, 18 June 2015 (UTC)

Birgunj and Biratnagar
editThe population and area displayed in the page for Biratnagar and Birgunj are from http://103.69.124.141 (Nepali language), this website is maintained by the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration of Nepal (previously the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development). Some users have been editing the stats for the two cities and I have reverted edits to maintain data maintained by an official source. SimulationWig (talk) 22:30, 22 April 2018 (UTC)
- I'm not sure if you people know how to read Nepali but this new report [1] has an image file which states that 9 new local units were added to Province 2 on August 11, 2017. Under Parsa it says, 1 gaupalika merged into Birgunj Metropolitan City. So, please stop editing the page. The May 22 addition was scrapped on June 1, [2] SimulationWig (talk) 14:25, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
Municipality vs City
editI think a municipality in Nepal is just like a sub-division of Districts. It is not similar to those of cities of other countries. A municipality in Nepal, includes urban settlements, rural settlements, woods, jungle, fields etc. For example see: Triyuga a municipality of Udayapur District. Total area of municipality is 547.43 square kilometres (211.36 sq mi) but population is only 87,557 people. Also no such place named Triyuga is exist. Headquarters of Triyuga is Gaighat, which is the main urban area of this whole area of 547 KM. Triyuga mean whole area of 547 KM. So I think Word "municipality" or "Nagarpalika" should be kept with name of municipalities of Nepal, how it is on Nepali Wikipedia.--- 👤Raju💌 07:05, 11 October 2018 (UTC)
Fixing URLs
edit@107.77.206.144 I see the URLs are broken. It looks like gov.np has changed its website, however I'm not sure the answer is to delete those columns entirely. Perhaps someone who speaks Nepali could update them dizzyflamingo (talk) 05:41, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
