WP-MIL HIST Assessment
editNeeds only a slight amount of copy-edit and attention to grammar to bring to B-class. --MChew (talk) 08:09, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- The Military History project currently requires at least one in-line citation per paragraph in order to satisfy the referencing criteria for B class. As such, I have changed the checklist to reflect this. — AustralianRupert (talk) 04:24, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

The Jat Regiment
editI was able to return to Bareilly earlier this year. I was born at the Jat Regimental HQ just before Independence and my late parents were in their prime at that time. My father Lt Colonel Frank Rose belonged to 2nd 9th Jats as it was then called. He brought his Indian Soldiers out from the Fall of Singapore in a daring escape that has been written up by him and presented to the Jat Regimental Museum at Bareilly. I returned for the fourth time in recent years to view the Memorabilia that has been mounted in the new wonderful museum about my family. I write about India and have included the Jat Regiment in my writings and this occasion was poignant in that it took place a year exactly after my own mother's funeral at nearly 100 years. It was also the 65th anniversary of the inauguration of The Jat Memorial by Field Marshall Sir Claude Auchinleck in March 1947 when my late father was a serving officer and I was but a few weeks old and my late mother was then hostess to the Commander in Chief of India. India can be justifiably proud of her Armed Forces and those of us who have a link to elite regiments are proud of our connections. Here is a photographic gallery showing my formal Laying of the Wreath at The Jat Memorial on 7th March 2012. https://picasaweb.google.com/105833357733916819450/Remembrance2012TheCourageOfTheIndianArmy?authuser=0&feat=directlink 82.153.99.81 (talk) 12:52, 5 November 2012 (UTC)Aline Dobbie Author.
