Israel–Hezbollah conflict (2023–present)Israel–Hezbollah conflict (2023–2024) – There was consensus above that the scope of this article is only up to the invasion and doesn't cover the invasion, which is instead covered at 2024 Israeli invasion of Lebanon. This consensus was reached to avoid duplication of material and because sources treated the invasion as an escalation. The title of the article should reflect this agreed upon scope. Support the low-level conflict and invasion are distinct phases, showing the conflict ending on the 1st October with the result being the Israeli invasion of Lebanon The Great Mule of Eupatoria (talk) 04:12, 22 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
There is a misunderstanding here. The Israeli invasion is PART of this conflict, not something different that came later. Similar to the Normandy landings being part of Operation Overlord. Having said that, I'm in favor of leaving the details about the ground incursions to the other article, but having a summarized info on the October/November fighting here. In this case “conflict” downplays the severity of it. The invasion and the intensified airstrikes are different and clearly distinct from the low level conflict trading rockets and small scale airstrikes The Great Mule of Eupatoria (talk) 14:37, 22 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
It's still part of the same conflict/war between Hezbollah and Israel. The intensification around September and later invasion was just another phase. BePrepared1907 (talk) 15:30, 22 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
And we are arguing that both phases should have their own separate article. The first phase was a low-level conflict that can't really be called a "war". By contrast the second phase was clearly very intense and calling it a "conflict" would be a misnomer.VR (Please ping on reply) 17:26, 22 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
