page numbers
editi am having a hard time figuring out how to insert page numbers for the various quoted sections in the article. i have the book, and could do it then if i find the time, but would need to learn how to do that. just as one example. I learn well by copying. If someone could do it for the last section, that part is on pages 153 to 154.
This part, "As a class, we are a powerful bunch. For one thing, we are assiduous voters, with a turnout rate of almost 80 percent. But we are influential outside the polling station. The most potent form of power, according to Bertrand Russell, is "power over opinion." This is a kind of power we understand. Pretty much every position in the influencing business is in fact filled by a member of the upper middle class: journalism, academia, research, science, advertising, polling, publishing, the media (old and new), and the arts are, almost by definition, upper middle-class strongholds. But upper middle-class power tends to be deployed to protect our own position and status, regardless of considerations of fairness. Having convinced ourselves of our own merit, we have become—and there is no nice way to say this—kind of selfish. Not in the way we conduct ourselves in the thick of everyday life with our neighbors or colleagues, but selfish in terms of the bigger picture: the way we treat tax breaks as an entitlement and the way we exclude others from opportunity to serve our own ends." - @Iljhgtn: Hi, thank you so much for helping expand this article! I've tried my best to add page numbers using the online references - please can you check if these are correct? GnocchiFan (talk) 23:49, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
- i think you did fine. Iljhgtn (talk) 18:32, 21 January 2024 (UTC)

- @MicrobiologyMarcus there are a couple more redirects for discussion that you added that are not listed in this talk page. i think they should be valid to remain in place personally, but if not, you should at least add those links to this talk page for visibility. Iljhgtn (talk) 19:38, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
- My bad. I did this automatically but must have missed a check box. I will compile the complete list in one above and then blank the next section. Thanks for pointing this out. MicrobiologyMarcus (petri dish•cultures) 19:41, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
- upon further review, dream hoard redirect is most likely to actually get removed, the others i think serve some usefulness which is why i added them when i made this article originally. Iljhgtn (talk) 19:50, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
