editHasn't he signed for Ajax? bupasival (talk) 14:47, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Edited article to a great quality
editI just spent a lot of time editing and expanding this article with the most up to date necessary information. To be in basic terms, I updated the info box stats and current club data, re-arranged some of the already submitted material into more suitable headings and also cited some more sources and made a few extra information submissions.
To answer the previously asked question, yes, he has already signed for Ajax. The story and link to it has already been cited and referenced, there should be no need to add any newer or other one.
What I'm asking is that -
1. This article is not tampered with much. If you want to do some tests, remember to use the sandbox or the Show Preview button
2. A decent available picture is found to include in this article (anyone feel free to upload one)
3. Somebody finds out his new club number at Ajax
4. And most importantly, try to keep as updated as possible with his stats at Ajax as they change.
Thank you!!!

- Please note that Cvitanich does not leave Banfield until the end of the season, after June 15th 2008. This information is available in the cited link and is supported by the fact that he played for Banfield on Friday May 2nd 2008. Any alterations to his current club before mid June can only be seen as adding misinformation. Thank you. EP 13:41, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Ohh forgive me, I wasnt aware that his contract wasnt effective with Ajax yet. In that case, I just made a few minor word replacements to make it sound "better" and more professional :)
And I think it is worthy enough to mention that Ajax bought him in preperation as a replacement for Huneelar who is almost bound to leave, same goes for him expressing his interest in oppurtunitues to play with Ajax greats and in the Champions League. If this is a challenged statement, then take a look at these:

Move to Ajax
editLook at this, it is clear evidence that he is still playing (and scoring) for Banfield. The next person to change his current club to Ajax without reading the first paragraph of this article or checking their facts will get a vandalism warning. EP 14:07, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Jewish heritage
editI do not know why is someone constantly deleting the fact that he is of Jewish heritage when there is a link leading to the article written in Hebrew which proves that. You may not like it but it is a fact. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Serbov (talk • contribs) 07:52, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
- Do you have an other language source? Chelseabob (talk) 00:36, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
it doesn't matter. there are proves in Hebrew, so it doesn't matter if you can read this article or not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.250.100.165 (talk) 19:03, 17 August 2008 (UTC) No i do not have links to any other sites except this one in Hebrew( which i happen to understand) Anyway he was on the list of Jewish footballers here on wikipedia until a short while ago( someone of Croatian anti-semites apparently deleted that information) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Serbov (talk • contribs) 16:04, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
- Perhaps you should look at Wikipedia:Categorization of people, specifically Wikipedia:Categorization/Gender, race and sexuality. If the category is not supported by the text of the article, it should be deleted. Accusing people of Anti-Semitism over such minor issues not only goes against WP:AGF, but also detracts from the case to be made against real anti-semites. EP 18:49, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
So EP can you explain me what could motivate someone to delete the fact that Cvitanich is of Croatian-Jewish heritage? And not only once- he has been doing it constantly. Whenever me or someone else write that he is of Croatian - Jewish heritage it is deleted few hours later. Why would anyone bother doing that? So explain me that EP and I am sure you can make it sound more subtle... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Serbov (talk • contribs) 08:44, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
- This is my first time visiting this page, just wanted to offer my thoughts to the discussion. Since Jewish can be an ethnic or religious groups, or both, depending on who you speak to I could see it be ommitted from a heritage standpoint. Does anyone know what religion Cvitanich is? If he is Catholic, then Jewish heritage seems irrelevant (it would be like saying he had Slav-pagan heritage as well). If he is Jewish, than he is Jewish and does not need to have "Jewish heritage." No point in making this a political issue.Ezc 195 (talk)
My brother was friend of Cvitanich in school in Baradero. He and all his family are catholic —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.172.209.122 (talk) 16:41, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
You need to know one thing. This Serbov is Serbian so he has complex because Cvitanic has croatian heritage. And he post in August 2008 when Cvitanic said he will play for Croatia. And he is talking about anti- semits from Croatia. He is sick bastard. All people with that surname are Croats. Beside that, his routes are from island Brač, near Split and there weren't any Jews. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.131.195.29 (talk) 12:01, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Although there is an article in Hebrew is it a reliable source? Unless it's an interview or contains a direct quote from the player (and, if so, what is the context?), it would be quite rare for an Israeli newspaper's statement on the topic to be considered fact, given that he has no known connection to Israel. As the OP admits, there are no other sources for this information. Given that we non-Hebrew speaking people cannot vet this information, I believe that it is properly excluded. Dawindler (talk) 21:47, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
- Per google translate, it says: "Another interesting statistic: Cvetinich has Jewish roots and if he signs a contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv, he will be able to receive Israeli citizenship and thus not be considered a foreigner in the Premier League." Looks like speculation in an article about a transfer rumour (in and of themselves suspect). No quotes and doesn't specify what the "roots" are. Doesn't seem to pass the muster of a reliable source with editorial oversight over the fact asserted. Dawindler (talk) 21:53, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
Croatia or Argentina
editI have proposed changing the nationality of Darío Cvitanich from Croatia to Argentina in the articles Eredivisie 2008–09 and AFC Ajax. Feel free to join the discussion at Talk:AFC Ajax#Darío Cvitanich: Croatia or Argentina?. Aecis·(away) talk 21:41, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
