Polio-related osteomyelitis?
editWhile doing some research for List of polio survivors Johnson's name came up. At least one source does mention him overcoming "a form of polio called osteomyelitis," when he was six.[1] But the problem is that osteomyelitis is an infection of bone (or bone marrow), usually caused by bacteria. I have been unable to find any evidence that osteomyelitis can be caused by poliovirus or is is in anyway “polio-related“.[2] Therefore, I have removed the "polio-related" bit from the article. (The article could use some references as well.)--DO11.10 23:58, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Summary statement
edit1. "English football player" is misleading or at best ambiguous; although he played most (but not all) of his football in England, his nationality is Australian
2. The claim "considered the first Australian to make a major impact in the English game" is not backed up by the sources provided. Many would consider Joe Marston to have been the first - he played 185 times for Preston between 1950 and 1955, most of which were at the highest level, and appeared in the 1954 FA Cup Final. He was selected for the Football League XI and only homesickness prevented a longer career in England. Murtoa (talk) 06:23, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
Number of games/goals
editIn one section it states that Johnston played 190 games for 30 goals, in another 271 games for 30 goals. Which is correct? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.32.135.162 (talk) 06:12, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
International Career
editI have removed mention of him being a 'B' international as there is no record of him playing at that level, but added detail and link to both of his U21 apps.Statto74 (talk) 14:32, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
