editthe page should divide into Vieri (Disambiguation) or introduced Vieri is a surname used in Italy
& pages introduce Christian Vieri brother , Maxi and his father Roberto , which both are professional footballer.
BUT not redirect the term Vieri to Christian Vieri
"Vieri is still considered Italy's greatest striker over the past decade,"
does this really belong in the article? he's clearly ONE OF the greatest, his goalscoring record speaks for itself, but i doubt that if you sat down with a big crowd of serie a/italian fans that they would be overwhelmingly in support of him over and above Del Piero, Zola, Totti, Chiesa, Inzaghi etc. i am therefore changing the sentence to read "Vieri is generally considered one of Italy's greatest strikers of recent times despite strong competition". this gives a fairer picture of Vieri's talent in the scheme of things while adknowledging that holding down a regular place for italy is no small feat.
- As striker he was undoubtly the best. Look at his score record in the World Cup, for example.--Spunti 18:59, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
hey, who added that funny N.K. Slaven Belupo again??? bobo did not go there!!! bobo signed a one-year contract with Atalanta today. Ufficiale: Vieri all'Atalanta OrangePiggy 09:22, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
Vieri secretly signed NK Slaven Belupo because his godfather Luigi Stanislas "Pepe" Biondi is an owner of that club from Koprivnica.. Vieri and his godfather Pepe are planing take all Atalanta's money to pay Zamorano's wages.. Cro ed 14:24, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
Ausralian Accent?
Dose Vieri speak English with an Australian accent? Dose anyone else find that thought very funny?
Nope, Vieri's English sucks to be honest. Just look up Vieri under videos on the BBC website. You can see for yourself.
Seriously what happened with him
editI remember in the later part of the 90s and early 2000s this guy was awesome...what the fuck is going on with him now?......even mediocre teams dont want him
Hull City player?
editSurely this is just speculation? Nothing has come officially from the club and in the local media over weekend, Hull City Chairman Paul Duffen stated that the club weren't interested. I believe these references need to be removed.81.144.232.162 (talk) 11:29, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Vieri to Botafogo
editOnly paper rumours saying that he is close to joining Botafogo. Nothing official, so i have taken it down. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ucl1986 (talk • contribs) 00:31, 6 November 2009 (UTC) Ucl1986 (talk) 00:33, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
- Some idiot continues to claim that Vieri has jonied Botafogo when there has been no official statement by either party. Can someone stop this idiot from editing the page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ucl1986 (talk • contribs) 16:31, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
- I have requested semi-protection for the page; hopefully this can be settled one way or another, but I agree, at the moment it doesn't seem like the transfer is official. Cocytus [»talk«] 17:36, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
- Update: the request was denied, but we should still hammer this out. Are there any reliable sources for the move to Botafogo? I haven't seen any yet. If there aren't, it probably shouldn't be added until one (or preferably both) parties confirm this move. Cocytus [»talk«] 17:56, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Can someone change the photo?
editThe photo does not present him in a natural way. It doesn't capture him as he looked at his prime (when most people recognize him) nor how he looks today. Snooganssnoogans (talk) 03:56, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Snooganssnoogans: Wiki Commons only has one other photo: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Christian_Vieri It's not better, is it? Robby.is.on (talk) 08:49, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Robby.is.on:, How about using the one that Italian WP uses? See here[1]. Snooganssnoogans (talk) 12:50, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Snooganssnoogans: It would need to be cropped to show his mainly his face, I believe? But even then, it would be hard to make out his eyes which could make it a bad choice. Robby.is.on (talk) 16:41, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- We could possibly use this[2] or this[3] from Italian WP. I think that showing him in the Inter or Italy jerseys would be ideal. Snooganssnoogans (talk) 16:45, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, they're nice. :-) Though we'd need to crop them. Robby.is.on (talk) 17:50, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

Youth career
editVieri could not have played for WSW between 1988–89 as the club did not exist then. This article from 2012 suggests he just played for Marconi, whilst this article states that he in fact returned to Italy in 1988 for "local youth sides in Tuscany". This article further provides some proof of him moving to Italy after age 14, so should it be assumed that he played for Santa Lucia from 1988? I have not found any contiguous evidence for his youth career to explain the current list but am curious as to its sourcing. WDM10 (talk) 09:03, 7 May 2023 (UTC)
