The Roof
editDoes anyone know how long it takes to open/close the retractable roof?
- It takes around 4-5 minutes. The Diamondbacks actually have a song whenever the roof moves.

Fair use rationale for Image:Chase Field logo.jpg
editImage:Chase Field logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Funding Furore
editThe article refers to a "quarter cent" increase in the county sales tax. That doesn't make any sense. Should this be a quarter percentage point? Also, there are no citations on that until you get to the murder. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.64.100.249 (talk) 03:44, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
This section seems to be heavily slanted against the public funding of the stadium. 216.229.35.170 (talk) 02:17, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
The funding the ballpark was controversial but it is not fair to say that it was very unpopular among the citizens of Maricopa County. The 1989 referendum was just for the City of Phoenix not the entire County. The sales tax ussed was not the "general sales tax" was a special 1/4 cent levy specifically for the ballpark. The tax actually was removed before the ballpark opened. There was a cap on the sales tax collections of $238 million, which when reached, the tax was removed. The Maricopa County Stadium District also agreed to fund an additional $15 million through debt financing backed by certain stadium revenues. This provision was later redone.
Polling at the time found that about 20% to 25% of the citizens were strongly opposed with the overall support exceeding 50%. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chromebolts (talk • contribs) 23:10, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
How quickly you forget, dude. Here's a quote from the New Times in 1995: "One poll taken shortly before the stadium district board voted to levy the tax indicated that two thirds of county voters opposed the tax. The board voted 3-1, with one abstention, to impose the tax, anyway." The people of Maricopa County hated the fact that the Board of Supervisors had steamrolled the stadium tax over the wishes of the voters. Jlmorgan (talk) 15:53, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
