Currently, sources indicate this subject died in the "SMO" (special military operation) zone (in Russian, СВО [SVO]). No source here or elsewhere about the SMO seems to include any Russian territory, to include Kursk, in this way. Yes, it's the same conflict, but terminology wise, from what I see, it's generally used to describe activity outside pre-war Russia proper. I've replaced the place of death as Ukraine because sources tend to indicate SMO. If SMO in fact implies ambiguity about the place of death, please help with some reading here. Cheers!
