Listing players as unattached

Given contracts start/end on July 1, shouldn’t any player who has signed for a new club before then be listed as transferring to that club and not listed as unattached, especially as they didn’t technically spent any time as a free agent? Ausfootballfan (talk) 02:05, 1 July 2022 (UTC)

I like the idea of this, dates of announcements and the relevant transfer window periods should correlate. Another point I want to bring up is should scholarship players Yull, Cox and Irankunda be removed from the squad list as their scholarship deals should have elapsed today? Goodwin

Should be listed as a transfer since he actually transferred to the club having been a free agent since he terminated his contract with his parent club.

Should even be listed as a loan transfer for the previous season too since he wasn’t actually owned by Adelaide Ausfootballfan (talk) 15:03, 21 July 2022 (UTC)

He was with Adelaide last season, and he's with Adelaide this season. We don't need two separate entries in two tables to show this. The transfers section is to show the differences in the squad from last season - not to go into nittypicky minute contract details. The note saying it's from loan to permanent is enough. By that logic then we should be changing the 2021–22 table of transfers as Dakota Ochsenham was released but then signed again under an injury replacement and then released at the end of the that contract. Each of these changes are represented with their own lines.
