The table
editThe table, according to the RSSSF citation, was only for regular season. So, how do the standing was decided? The winner of the final 4 playoffs was considered as the champion, or the regular season winner was considered as the winner? Matthew hk (talk) 23:08, 20 May 2019 (UTC)
- I think under the old system, the top four teams played a mini-league to see who the champion was. In the same way that the lowest four played to see who was actually relegated. In this case, it was again Jeunesse that won, but I guess in other seasons this wouldn't be the case. I admit, it's a bit unclear, especially when RSSSF seems only concerned with results and tables rather than details. I hope to continue working on Luxembourgish Football articles, hopefully soon, once my real-world life gets back to normal and allows me some time to review and improve the quality of a lot of these articles. --Philk84 13:58, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
- Just out of curiosity, what would happen if RSSSF is the only reliable source out there? My usual second source, Fussball-Lux doesn't seem to explain this in more detail except something about how the points of the mini-league were calculated, and doesn't mention the relegation mini-league at all. As this was the top flight of Luxembourgish football, I would assume it is notable enough for Wikipedia, but if there aren't sufficient sources, then what? --Philk84 14:07, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
- It would be nightmare to patrol the club article when ip user claiming different value of how many runner-up the club won, while the existing season article was unclear. Matthew hk (talk) 14:12, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
- It seems the final round may not be so important to the overall winner of the league, as teh RSSF and FLF (Luxembourgish Football Federation) seems to disagree on the top three.
- RSSSF Regular season: 1) Jeunesse 2) Spora 3) Avenir
- RSSSF Final round: 1) Jeunesse 2) Avenir 3) Spora
- FLF Statistics document: 1) Jeunesse 2) Spora 3) Avenir
- With that in mind, I would say that the FLF (who run the league) are more reliable than RSSSF. Unless I can find another source in due course that confirms one or the other
- I would also agree, going through to make sure everything is consistent will be a nightmare, but if I'm going to go through and check for reliable sources, probably a lot of this conflict will be dealt with as a matter of course. --Philk84 14:22, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
