Isac Born (born July 7, 2004) is a Swedish professional ice hockey forward current playing for Frölunda HC of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).[1]
Playing career
editBorn started playing as a youth for HK Kings, Kållereds SK, and Järnbrott HK, before moving to join the Frölunda HC junior academy in 2018. Winning the Swedish under 16 Championship with Frölunda in his first season.[2] Born represented Gothenburg at TV-pucken in 2019, scoring two goals in five games. He made his professional debut for Frölunda HC in the SHL during the 2022–23 season, he scored his first two goals on February 16, 2023, in a 6–1 win over Linköping HC.[3] He finished the season with two goals and three assists in 36 games, and one assist in ten playoff games. For the 2023–24 season Born earned himself a regular spot on Frölunda's roster,[4] and improved his production to three goals and nine assist in 44 regular season games, and one goal and one assist in fourteen playoff games.

Born represented Sweden at the 2021 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, where the team won bronze. He also competed for Sweden at the 2022 IIHF World U18 Championships, contributing one goal and one assist as Sweden claimed the gold medal. In 2024, Born was part of the Swedish team that earned a silver medal at the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships, being one of only three players not selected in the NHL entry draft chosen to the Swedish team.[5]
