Editors involved: Yannismarou (Diplomatic history, involvement of European countries, MoS and Referencing consistency), Damac, Grk1011, Michael X the White,(more editors are expected to add their names here!)
Initial status: The lead is not a proper summary; the citations and references need further formatting; is the massacres section accurate? The photo gallery should be removed etc. etc. etc.--Yannismarou (talk) 08:21, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Current status: Thanks to the efforts of many users (in particular Kyriakos, Damac, Pel Thal, Grk1011, and Michael the White) the article has been improved: sources have been added, copy-editing took place, pictures were added etc. But there is still work to be done. Specifically:
The lead needs some expansion per WP:LEAD, in order to constitute a comprehensive summary of the article.
In citation 5 I read: "Clogg, Concise History of Greece (Greek edition)". Could we stick to one version of the book, preferably the English one?
There is no reason the quote in citation 2 to be so long. I trimmed it a bit.
"In 1603, an attempt took place in Morea to restore the Byzantine Empire." What do we mean by "restore" exactly?
I replace Paroulakis, wherever I can.
I did some cleaning in the "Background". There are MoS problems throughout the article (dashes, for instance), and consistency problems in the citations and references.
Unfortunately, I do not have time today to continue after "Background". The article is obviously improved, but I am not sure it is ready yet for GAC. I think we should give it two more weeks (until October 15), and then re-evaluate its status. More comments of mine will come during the next days.--Yannismarou (talk) 12:22, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that the article looks better. However several sections still need expansion and improvement. These include: Peloponnese, Central Greece, Crete, Greek infighting and parts of the European intervention. I'll also try and improve the lead if I have time in the next few days. "Greek Infighting" is also non-comprehensive. It does not adequately describe the events related with the two civil wars during the Revolution.--Yannismarou (talk) 17:24, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
