Speedy deletion of Leigh Landy

edit

A tag has been placed on Leigh Landy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. AfD nomination of Leigh Landy

edit

I have nominated Leigh Landy, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Leigh Landy. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. RadioFan (talk) 16:28, 6 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi Yergnaws, AFD is a seven day process and it shouldn't be too difficult to find some references in that time so I don't suggest moving that article to your sandbox. But I'd be happy to show you how to start your next article in a sandbox. ϢereSpielChequers 17:05, 6 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Understood - Many thanks - I've already got some other articles on the boil in my Sandbox and in my own area and I went to directly enter this one do as not to mix 'em up!. As you can see, I'm a (wikipedia) beginner (even though a seasoned (seedy?) academic :-) Yergnaws (talk) 17:16, 6 May 2009 (UTC)YergnawsReply

OK Wiki is not paper - you can have User:Yergnaws/Sandbox/Dean Golja, User:Yergnaws/Sandbox/Prof Plum, User:Yergnaws/Sandbox/col Mustard etc all at the same time. ϢereSpielChequers 19:10, 6 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Hi Yergnaws, congratulations on Leigh Landy surviving the AFD process. Re this question. You are free to blank whole messages on your talk page - though if you do it is assumed you've read that message. But it is recommended that you can archive instead. More details on Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines ϢereSpielChequers 17:13, 8 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
That question was pertaining to the note here? Yergnaws can delete whatever he/she wants whenever he/she wants. it's his/her talk page and he/she is free to do with it as he/she pleases.--RadioFan (talk) 17:34, 8 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

David Worrall

edit

You added "… [the Australian Music Centre], where he is a Represented composer" to the article on David Worrall. What is a "Represented composer" at the AMC, and is there a source for that? -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 13:53, 5 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Music Council of Australia

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Music Council of Australia, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.musiciansnetwork.com/network/Instruments/Electronic/Music_Council_of_Australia__MCA_-info101792.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 13:49, 6 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dated cleanup tags

Hi, thanks for your message, SmackBot does not generally add tags, but merely dates those that are already there. Regards, Rich Farmbrough, 23:49, 10 August 2009 (UTC).Reply

File permission problem with File:Worrall4wikipediByRink5 1.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Worrall4wikipediByRink5 1.jpg, which you've attributed to Udo Rink. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 21:37, 12 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

This photograph was sent to me by the photographer for use on this page. He does does not wish to claim copyright in it but would like acknowledgement. What do I have to do to have it reinstated? [[[User:Yergnaws|Yergnaws]] (talk) 23:50, 6 March 2016 (UTC)]

Polymedia (media) moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Polymedia (media), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. A tag has been placed on Gregory Kramer requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Managing a conflict of interest
