Make sure the Country Songs reference has updated

edit

Most weeks it does, yes, but this week it has not (yet), so do not update Country Songs peaks without checking in future. Unless you want to go back to each of those individual country artists' discographies and restore it with a link to the Country Update PDF, please wait, because it is unsourced at the moment, hence why you have been reverted. Singles Only (compilation album) moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Singles Only (compilation album), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Kirbanzo (userpage - talk - contribs) 19:05, 27 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • I don't intend to back this article up any further. It was created under a separate name and I saw no reason as to why it should claim the "Singles Only" title seeing as it was an unreferenced article. Thanks for doing this however, I would have done it myself had I known how. I did not want to remove all the work from whoever created it. Yeehaw45 (talk) 19:06, 27 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hi, because you hijacked a previously existing article by creating new history for a different topic at the same title, I have requested a history split at WP:REPAIR. You can also request Draft:Singles Only (compilation album) to be deleted by placing the tag {{db-author}} at the top of the draft article. Thanks. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 20:46, 27 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
I've just cleaned up this mess. Yeehaw45, don't hijack pages by replacing the contents with something about another topic. — JJMC89(T·C) 03:27, 28 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
My apologies. I saw the original Singles Only page with absolutely no references and messages from a decade ago saying it needed to be referenced and figured I should move it to a separate page with a disambiguation page for the three similarly named topics at hand. When that compilation album page then got deleted I assumed the best course of action would be to give the only topic that had a page the full page. I won’t do this again.   Thanks for contributing to the article 2021 in country music. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that contributions must be verifiable through reliable sources, preferably using inline citations. Please help by adding more sources to the article you edited, and/or by clarifying how the sources already given support the claims (see here for how to do inline referencing). Single release dates

edit

Hi, just a heads-up. I noticed you created the article, Lil Bit, and for some reason you added February 9, 2021, as the song's release date, as opposed to its actual release date, October 2020. As this wasn't sourced as far as I could see, I assume the February date was because it was only then sent to radio? If so, then please kindly read Template:Infobox song#released, which states: "Indicate the commercial release date, whether it is a single, album, or other. Usually, this is the date that it became widely available to the public, such as in retail". That means, adding the first release date, not when the song was sent to radio. A song being sent to radio is not the only/main qualifier for making it an actual single. Please kindly keep this in mind next time. Thank you. AshMusique (talk) 23:07, 31 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

@AshMusique: My apologies! I had recently noticed some articles that listed the release date as the radio impact date, so I assumed this was the process. February 9, 2021 was indeed the impact date for US Pop radio. Thank you for letting me know and clarifying this; I'll be sure to list the original release date moving forward. License tagging for File:Roots World Juniors.jpeg

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. My bad. The EP got rescheduled to 2024, and in this case, I was the one who originally added it, so I moved it over there. Yeehaw45 (talk) 16:29, 31 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Category:Josh Ross (singer) songs

edit

Hello, Yeehaw45,

Category redirects aren't created like article redirects. Please look at the code/template on this page so if you want to create one in the future, you'll know how to. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 04:21, 14 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Ah, thanks. I'll be sure to follow that in the future. -Yeehaw45 (talk) 15:23, 14 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Songs written by Josh Ross (singer)

edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Songs written by Josh Ross (singer) indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 20:26, 14 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Canadian country music singles

edit

Hi, I was wondering if you could move the Canadian country music singles that are currently charting from the 2023 in country music page to the 2024 in country music page? Thanks. David829 (talk) 21:19, 08 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

@David829, sure, will get to that soon! Was already planning on doing that. Yeehaw45 (talk) 15:06, 9 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Utah NHL team

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material, the draft has been deleted. Liz, that’s rather strange. I did not create that draft. I believe someone else may hand moved a redirect that I created into a draft. Thanks for deleting. Yeehaw45 (talk) 23:14, 18 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please get consensus at Wikipedia talk:Record charts

edit

You should propose the use of Mediabase's charts directly or through Pollstar at Wikipedia talk:Record charts instead of trying to small-scale shoehorn in these charts everywhere. I am also well aware Billboard got rid of its Canadian radio charts—I was aware 17 days ago. However, that does not mean that we should now take charts directly from Mediabase and use it in the same column/conflate it with Billboard's publication and, I assume, vetting of that data. I think you are clearly biased to wanting Canadian radio statistics on Wikipedia. Your claim of not listing these charts "not being in the spirit of a free encyclopedia" is ignoring that we do not display all data just because we can or users think we should, per WP:INDISCRIMINATE.
