Folding@home results
editHi Ubertoaster. First off, cool username. I like it.
On the Folding@home Talk page, in April 2011 you said: "I came here to see what had been achieved by the project, but this long string of scientific manuscripts with names of authors etc isn't really helping. Presumably someone associated with the project could provide a brief synopsis of the most significant developments in research that this project has helped to bring about."
I'd like to just let you know that I have made some attempts to fix this. I have very recently created a long-overdue Biomedical Significance section, which should answer your questions as it summarizes scientific accomplishments. Being new, it just has some preliminary information pulled from the Diseases Studied page on the main Folding@home website, but it should have adequate information for its purposes. Yes the results are long list of journals, but that's what is listed in the Results link in F@h website so I think those are in an appropriate section. Also, the intro to that section has some more details and clarification. All should be well again with it. In fact, once I finish dealing with the silly "Estimated Energy Use" section, I'm going to see if I can get it to be a Good Article. So anyway, please read the article again. Its much larger and likely better than before. http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Folding@home — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jessemv (talk • contribs) 06:28, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
- There have been some significant changes to the article. If you don't mind, please look it over again. I'd also appreciate any suggestions on its contents. Jessemv (talk) 04:44, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
I believe GA nominations are very, very close. It's in an informal request for comment stage, so if you like feel free to let me know what you think or if there's anything else that I can improve. I've strived to make it encyclopedic and factually accurate, so it will at least be informative to you. Best, Jesse V. (talk) 03:23, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
