Thanks for the Call-Net/Rogers Telecom changes

I knew that I was putting outdated information, but since Rogers didnt give info about the key people and public/private company, I just put old information until I got more. Your changes were well needed and tank you for changing them. TorontoStorm 13:53, July 21, 2005 (UTC)

Spotlight Television, The Canadian Film Channel, etc.

edit

To be perfectly honest, I'm not convinced that proposed networks should be getting Wikipedia articles, because then we run into a problem if they're not licensed. I really don't think that a new channel application should get an article until the CRTC approves its license. But I suppose you're free to differ in your opinion... The Gazette

edit

One question: are you absolutely certain that no other publication in the entire world uses the name The Gazette? Are you absolutely certain that a city name isn't needed in the title for disambiguation purposes? Unless you can definitively prove that to be the case, the article has to be titled either Montreal Gazette or The Gazette (Montreal). "Use the official name" is an important rule, but "disambiguate when necessary" trumps it. Bearcat 01:31, 7 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

FM/TV and the CBC

edit

Yeah, I actually realize that...I just wasn't sure if it was best to go with "do it anyway to keep the naming format relatively consistent", or "stick with the canonical form even if the situation is confusing to people". I reluctantly decided to go with the former, but wouldn't particularly object to the latter. (Except that if we don't have a consistent rule, it may very well empower the "but nobody calls it CIVT; the title has to be Global BC" crowd.) Some kind of move still realistically had to happen, so ultimately they'll have to be at either CXXX-TV or CXXX (TV)...and even if we used (TV), policy would permit a redirect from the expected -TV format anyway, so it's not as though those would need to be deleted if you or I were to move the CBC sticks to (TV) instead.

FWIW, Wikipedia doesn't actually have a policy that the official name of something always trumps considerations such as common name or consistency of naming format within like categories; in fact, Wikipedia policy quite specifically subordinates official name to other considerations when there's a conflict. So, in reality, situations like this bring up some complex decision-making about how best to handle the specific circumstances -- "what the CRTC uses is automatically Wikipedia's title, case closed, no exceptions" simply isn't how Wikipedia works. The CRTC, for example, will never have to render a decision concerning the Chicago Board of Trade, so it doesn't need to disambiguate CBOT from anything. But we do, whether the CRTC uses a suffix in that instance or not. And I personally wouldn't be comfortable leaving most CBC stations at undisambiguated titles unless somebody can prove that nothing else in the world actually uses acronyms like CBAT, CBLT or CBST. I think it's better to prepare for that eventuality now, rather than set up potentially problematic situations in the future. But YMMV, I suppose. Bearcat 18:29, 15 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I don't think we're actually disagreeing as much as it may seem...I think the biggest real difference of opinion here has to do with how readily we can assume that the four-letter callsign without the TV or FM suffix is actually a unique name. If I do a Google search on CFTO, for instance, I do mostly get refs to the TV station, but there are a few cases of it being an acronym for something else. I'm not sure if those other things deserve their own encyclopedia articles or not, but I'm reluctant to assume that the undisambiguated title CFTO should be the TV station rather than a dab page.
The example I'm coming from is CKY. For the longest time, the article there was the TV station in Winnipeg, but then somebody blanked out the TV article in favour of a rock band that I'd never even heard of. They didn't even move the TV station to another title; they just erased it. I fixed the problem, but the thing is that I had originally written the article not even knowing that a dab page would be necessary. And because nobody had the page watchlisted, it sat for a couple of weeks without anybody noticing what had happened.
So, in reality, I'm just trying to avoid such a situation happening again. I'm probably just being unnecessarily cautious, I admit. I'm open to using a different format for the CBC stations that don't actually use the -TV suffix, but basically I'm just trying to make things as clear and straightforward and not-overly-confusing as possible. List of CW affiliates

edit

Have a look at the comment I added to the article. Do you think this will help in deterring unwarranted additions? More specifically, does this allow us to remove the bit near the beginning about how existing affiliation is not a guarantee and the technicalities of the deal don't make it automatic and yada yada yada, which seems more geared towards editors than general users? I can understand why general users would want to know that, but I had thought I had already added it (it happened on a day Wikipedia was having technical problems) and I want your opinion on whether it's sufficient deterrent. License tagging for Image:Rcsswest.png

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Rcsswest.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 13:07, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Between a rock and a hard place (NTV)

edit

It seems like NTV is in a no-win position should they drop CTV's newscasts for Global's. Considering there's three separate OTA stations in St. John's (one of which is a repeater), and both rival private networks end up doing what is mentioned in the article (both networks applying for their own stations), what would NTV do, if we assume the CRTC gives the green light for both networks, and St. John's could likely end up with five stations (and a crowded cable presence as nearly every channel from 2 to 62 and maybe beyond on the cable dial has been claimed)?—Preceding unsigned comment added by MapleLeafFan04 (talkcontribs)

Apropos of The One, you are, of course, altogether correct, and I am, to be sure, an idiot (or, at the very least, someone who ought not to edit when ridiculously tired). Thanks, in any case, for fixing my error...— Preceding unsigned comment added by Jahiegel (talkcontribs) 14:09, 23 August 2006

Network affiliate lists

After seeing you re-arrange the Fox affiliate list into "DMA style", I am working on an ABC affiliate list in DMA style on my sandbox. I copied and pasted the table from the Fox affiliate list, but I have added the ABC stations in the top 35 markets and some others in the Midwest. Feel free to add more stations to the list and replace the ABC affiliate list with the one in my sandbox when finished. The reason I linked to that page on my blog is because it provides an imperical look at what the markets are doing. The data is aggregated from our local MLS (of which i'm a member), and allows people to measure buyer intensity in a non objective way (i.e. its a better method than saying 'gee there are a lot of for sale signs up' although that may be true too). As far as I know, there is no other way to visually guage the local market currently being offered.

TV/radio station moves

edit

Hi! Just want to let you know that I think you've misinterpreted the naming conventions. Per WP:NAME:

All full-power Canadian FM and commercial TV stations have a (-FM or -TV) suffix... most U.S. and many Mexican stations, do not.

A quick search of the FCC TV Query for, say, WAGA shows that the correct call sign is simply "WAGA"; compare to the results for WDIV (which lists the station as "WDIV-TV").

The section you pointed to in your edit summary is meant to give guidelines if there are multiple stations with the same base callsign. It doesn't mean that all TV stations should have titles with the "-TV" suffix, because many do not.

It's a common mistake, but the distinction is important. Happy editing! — stickguy (:^›)— || talk || 22:03, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Awcanada.gif. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. cohesion 07:08, 2 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

A company being non-operational is not, in my opinion, a valid reason for it not to be acknowledged. I don't feel the article was written as an advert but please feel free to edit it, I simply see no reason why the article cannot exist (even on an disambiguation page) considering there is no other entry for Entertainment Now other than a re-direct, which is a link to an organisation no longer affiliating themselves with that name.

CTV and A-Channel

edit

After the recent ruling where CTV was forced to sell the five Citytv stations (to Rogers), there's another problem I think few are aware of... If CTV is allowed to keep the A-Channel station in Ottawa, they would own two stations there, as they already own CJOH. What do you think about that? Maple Leaf fan '04 13:08, 12 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Random philosophical questions for the day...does this mean CTV is going to change ASN from a de facto Citytv to a de facto A-Channel? What happens to CP24, since none of the media reports have said anything about it? And since Citytv and A-Channel have always served the secondary purpose of being an easy place for CHUM to throw on repeats of stuff from Space and MuchMusic and the like, what happens to Citytv if there's no longer that avenue for filling holes in the schedule?
Gonna be interesting, that's all I have to say... Bearcat 01:14, 13 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Awcanadaconcept.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Awcanadaconcept.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Fair use rationale for Image:CBCRadio3.png

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:CBCRadio3.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Breno talk 09:18, 7 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Global2006.png)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Global2006.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Vocm.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Vocm.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 03:08, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image:Ontlogo.png

edit

I have tagged Image:Ontlogo.png as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. CFDR radio

edit

C.A. ("Arnie") Patterson coined the slogan C-F-("Big D")-R, almost from day one of operation. The reason the call sign CFDR was chosen originally was CF Dartmouth Radio. Not sure if you've ever heard CFDR, but it was Arnie as well who coined the slogan for "Wood Motors Ford... where else?" Cheers! Aloha27 (talk) 04:21, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

moving of C-61 bill

edit

While I see that it's appropriate, is there a reason why the older page simply redirects to the new place while there isn't a disambiguation page? I really fail to see a reason other than article name clarity, unless you are reserving it for future bills with the name (which I wouldn't know if there will be other bills, but its probable), just asking based on your edit note. Replaceable fair use Image:ShaunaMacDonald.jpg

edit

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:ShaunaMacDonald.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Rettetast (talk) 09:49, 19 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re:HBO Canada

edit

Hey stickguy, I don't see the need in having a separate article for HBO Canada when it is only a multiplex channel of a premium tv network. I do see the uniqueness of this, but they are two separate channels from two separate premium networks. There's no guarantee that HBO Canada will be exactly the same on both networks, I'm sure they will air the same content, but it will be for the most part separate schedules. I think it would be easier to have an HBO Canada section within both the TMN and MC articles, so it can be updated and changed on an individual basis specific to that network, there's no guarantee that when one thing changes on one network that it will change on the other. I also think there really won't be much need to update both anyways, I mean, really, how much new content can be written up about this, other then maybe update the carriers? The content regarding Playhouse Disney Canada in the Family article really hasn't had much updating since it was first created, even so I don't think it would be too difficult to update both at the same time.

Anyways, i'll look for next messge and see what we can do about this. Later! musimax. (talk) 02:08, 23 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Deep Roots

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Deep Roots, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. -- Jeandré, 2008-10-01t12:11z 12:11, 1 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of File:CHCA.png

edit

A tag has been placed on File:CHCA.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image which is not under a free license or in the public domain and it has not been used in any article for more than seven days.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:File:CHCA.png|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Française des Jeux

edit

Hi. I notice you remade the article on the cycling team as a one-sentence stub on its title sponsor. Such is yours or anyone's prerogative, and I'm not going to weigh the merits of such an action, but one relic of it is that the nearly 200 internal links to Française des Jeux are now pointing at the wrong article. A similar situation existed with Caisse d'Epargne - that's been quasi-solved by having Caisse d'Epargne redirect to Caisse d'Epargne (cycling team) with a hatnote linking to Groupe Caisse d'Epargne. Might a similar solution be feasible here? Perhaps La Française des Jeux as the title for the lottery, with Française des Jeux a redirect to Française des Jeux (cycling team)? Or does one of us have to roll up their sleeves and get those 200 links pointed to Française des Jeux (cycling team) manually?

Let me know, one way or another, how this can be resolved. Thanks. Don't fall asleep zzzzzz 12:20, 20 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hudson's Bay Company

edit

I noticed your change to the official name of the Hudson's Bay Company, and, quite frankly, I'm appalled that it's happened. Should it be true, it means that the company known as "The Governor and Company of Adventurers of England Trading into Hudson's Bay" chartered on May 2, 1670 is no longer in existence. The company registered under the Canada Business Corporations Act called "Hudson's Bay Company" came into existence on April 12, 2006. As such, it's a slap in the face to anyone who cares about continuity and the claim that HBC is North America's oldest company. And the name was just cool, too. Hey, since I believe you were the one who started the non-political programming section in the CPAC article, I thought I would come to you. I was going to add it to the article, but I'm not sure if they have aired any or not yet. I though I'd ask you and maybe you'd know, and then maybe I'd add something on it to the article. musimax. Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

Re:Canwest vs. Shaw Media

Hi. OK, I see your points. I'd be fine with having separate articles for both companies. musimax. (talk) 17:49, 27 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

However, I do think the List of assets owned by Shaw Communications and Corus Entertainment article should be split back up into two separate articles for Shaw Media and Corus because they are considered two separate companies. Corus may be controlled by the Shaw family, but is considered independent from Shaw Media. I think it's best to keep the two separate. musimax. (talk) 17:57, 27 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Target Canada

edit

Thank you for creating the Target Canada article.

However I was a little concerned about "Proposed locations" sub-section. First, it partially violates the WP:NOTDIRECTORY guideline. However, my biggest concern is that the references you've added do not prove without a doubt that all of these stores will become Target outlets. For example, the Ivanhoe Cambridge reference lists the exact same locations as the ones that were listed from media outlets on May 26, 2011 when Target target revealed the leases it had acquired. I've noticed the same pattern for the references from Homburg and all the other landlords you've provided on the "confirmed" section; they all list the same locations (without any exception) as the ones listed from media oulets. But I seriously doubt that Target will truly open stores on all the locations of the "Confirmed" section, especially given that the company plans to open only 150 stores and that it hasn't even pick up yet its second lot of leases. At this point, I doubt that the landlords or even Target itself exactly know which stores will really become Target stores. I wouldn't be surprised that the landlords think that just because Target acquired the leases in their malls, they are assuming that all of these locations will automatically become Target stores past 2013.

I know that you've put a lot of work and effort on this section. But in order to conform with the WP:NOTDIRECTORY and WP:NOTCRYSTALBALL guidelines, I propose that we remove the delete "Proposed locations" section altogether. If you insist on keeping the "Proposed locations", I think that we should at least remove the distinction there is between the "confirmed" and "unconfirmed" and merge all the locations together in the "Proposed locations" section.Farine (talk) 23:55, 4 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

risotto & icecream

edit

I saw your edit about Showcase. Awareness is one thing. Generally hating Super Channel is another. When the media report it like the show is only now finally available in Canada and the Showcase is the saviour for deprived fans of Angie and Sasha across the country do people never know that series 2 has already been shown and they missed it. The thing is, Shaw mislead everyone about the date it would be on Showcase. It actually was on Showcase on 2 January 2012 at 6pm ET even though the advertised and heavily promoted première was 3 January 2012 at 10pm ET. Not unlike how they advertised XIII as premièring on Showcase on 20 April at 10pm but actually had it on Mystery on 19 April at 10am. Also, there is a chance that risotto & icecream has been edited in various places as the line 'why don't we just show him our tits and let him decide' that is in the Super Channel trailer and in the episode from TNT wasn't in the episode when shown on Showcase. delirious & lost~hugs~ 00:05, 17 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Late Night with Seth Meyers

edit

Hi there, I'm trying to restore the affiliate mugs to the list of Late Night with Seth Meyers episodes after a bit of a talk, but after adding the {{{AffiliateMug}}} parameter to the Lnep/seth template, I didn't know what to do to make a column header for the mug appear, so I reverted the template. What should I do to define a column header? Thank you! Pdxuser (talk) 17:22, 6 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Lead-out

edit

You're probably not the person to ask, but the term was used when you created the article/list of Super bowl lead-out programs. It is not immediately obvious to me that any other Wikipedia article even defines the term. Even more amazing is the fact I can't find anything else for the term "lead-in"

There must be ways to deal with this through hatnotes or redirects. I wouldn't even know how to begin to create an article.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 17:01, 20 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Shauna MacDonald

edit

The article Shauna MacDonald has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This page does not establish any notability, nor are there any references that reference MacDonald specifically.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. That edit you made for the Viacom International to be changed from ViacomCBS International is not true. I have evidence to show to you that the season 2 premiere of Blue's Clues and You end credits had the new name.

You can see for yourself by purchasing episode 8 from Prime Video. https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/B084GD4W5P/ref=atv_yv_hom_c_unkc_1_1

Understood, and I have no reason to dispute that program uses that name, but the Delaware corporations registry is also showing there is still only a "Viacom International Inc." and not a "ViacomCBS International Inc.". I suspect whoever was working on that program did a find-and-replace on "Viacom" that is not actually applicable (at least yet).— stickguy (:^›)— || talk || 17:12, 3 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Help Moderating 2021-22 network schedules

edit

Greetings, Stickguy! I am reaching out as you have recently contributed helpful edits to the 2021-22 United States network schedule (late night) page. As you may have noticed, this page is starting to become subject to some vandalism. User Hoopstercat has repeatedly added excessively detailed, unsourced, and incorrectly formatted information to several current network schedules. The worst instance of this is the late night page which was never separated by day of the week. Now there are four separate schedules on the late night page. It’s simply too much and there is very little variation in the schedules. Moreover, as I’m sure you know coming from a background in television and streaming, some of the programs being added aren’t network programs but merely syndicated shows only airing on select stations. I have brought this issue up on the talk page along with user MrE. Unfortunately, I do believe Hoopstercat’s erroneous edits will persist unless we can find a third moderator/supporter of at least combining the Friday and Monday-Thursday schedules. I ask that you consider replying on the late night talk page so that we can start making headway on reverting the edits without immediate pushback from Hoopstercat who’s simply undoing our reversions. If you have time and are interested, we would also greatly appreciate your help in moderating such pages. Thematrix92498 (talk) 01:41, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I'm not sure why Template:27TeamBracket-3way is not populating there yet but I had added the category to that template. Unless I did so incorrectly? — stickguy (:^›)— || talk || 01:35, 19 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:February 2025 sports events in Canada

edit

A tag has been placed on Category:February 2025 sports events in Canada indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 18:13, 2 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of CJOL-FM

edit

The article CJOL-FM has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

It is way too early—the station is not even on the air—and even unlikely that this station can reach notability standards. A mention of this should be in Vermont Public, given that there is already a section on Canadian listenership/viewership on the TV side, and there should be a mention in Arsenal Media, the most likely redirect target.

I'm good with going by whatever the current policy is. I was under the impression that it was safe to create an article for a licensed radio station as soon as it was approved, i.e. https://en.wiki.x.io/w/index.php?title=CIND-FM&oldid=511972493 (which was created as 88.1 FM Toronto, Ontario even before a callsign was assigned), but as that was 12 years ago my understanding may be out of date. — stickguy (:^›)— || talk || 17:34, 7 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
I see that under WP:BROADCAST, stations are generally not considered notable until they are on the air. I won't contest the PROD. — stickguy (:^›)— || talk || 17:43, 7 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
