Disambiguation link notification for July 28
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2019–20 EFL Trophy, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Memorial Stadium (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

editHello, I'm Mattythewhite. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Gigg Lane, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 00:47, 24 August 2019 (UTC)
Bury F.C. & Gigg Lane
editHi, I'm not sure why you've restored your edit on Gigg Lane. Bury still exist as a football club, they have simply been expelled by the Football League. As such, they still own all of their assets for now, including Gigg Lane, thanks. Kosack (talk) 07:16, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
- Your edits continue to misrepresent the situation the club are in. Please refrain from claims that the club have folded or been dissolved until it actually does and the information is supported by reliable sources. Kosack (talk) 07:22, 29 August 2019 (UTC)

editPlease stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Bury F.C., you may be blocked from editing. Unexplained removal of good article icon. Mattythewhite (talk) 16:52, 12 October 2019 (UTC)
Storm Lorenzo
editI've noticed that you've been insistent on calling Lorenzo's extratropical remnants as "Former Tropical Storm Lorenzo" despite the general consenus to call the system "Storm Lorenzo" the name given to the system in advisories. None of your edits have any explanation and could be construed as edit warring. If you have objections to the use of the name "Storm Lorenzo" you should give your reasons at Talk:2019–20 European windstorm season rather than through editing the main article. editHello, I'm Flix11. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to 2019–20 EFL Cup have been undone because they did not appear constructive per WP:LIVESCORES. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the help desk. Thanks. Flix11 (talk) 21:36, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at 2019–20 EFL Cup. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. January 2020
editThank you for your contributions. One of your recent contributions to 2019–20 European windstorm season has been reverted or removed, because it contains speculative or unconfirmed information about a future event. Please only add material about future events if it is verifiable, based on a reliable source. It would also help if you check your edits before submitting using the 'Show preview' button. This way you can see the page as to how it'd look like in the live version, but without having to make an edit again. DarkShadowTNT (talk) 16:25, 7 January 2020 (UTC)

2020 to 2021
editCan you please stop changing dates from 2020 to 2021 when events were played in 2020, or there is no official confirmation that the 2020 event is cancelled? In the former case your edits are plainly false, and in the latter you're speculating against WP:CRYSTALBALL. Thank you. Iffy★Chat -- 18:25, 26 March 2020 (UTC)

"Permanently cancelled"
editHello Sportsfanrob. Several editors, including myself, have repeatedly asked you not to continuously insert "permanently" to instances of "cancelled" in regards to Eurovision 2020. "Cancelled" is already a definitive adjective, and Eurovision 2020 will (as it stands currently) not be held. There is no "temporary" cancellation, wherefore no "permanent" cancellation could correspond to it. Please consult a dictionary if required and cease such disruptive edits. The article 2022 in British television has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Too early for this page; see WP:CRYSTAL.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Jalen Folf (talk) 18:54, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
Boat Race articles
editPlease stop disrupting these articles. The seasons follow sequentially regardless of what happened. Two "next season" races doesn't make sense. And the 2021 dates and details have not been released so the 2021 article should be deleted as WP:CRYSTAL. These articles are good or featured quality and don't need the continual edit warring, thanks. The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 10:37, 7 April 2020 (UTC)
- Honestly, stop adding things into the template which don't exist. The article you created mistakenly was deleted. Once the official date of the 2021 race is announced and we have a suitably referenced article to point to, by all means add 2021 back. Until then, just stop. 2020–21 EFL Trophy moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, 2020–21 EFL Trophy, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Speedy deletion nomination of 2021 in British television
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that 2021 in British television, a page that you created, has been tagged for deletion. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It appears to be a test page. (See section G2 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
- It is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. (See section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. ~ Destroyeraa (talk|Contribs) 19:21, 10 August 2020 (UTC)

- Please stop this bizarre editing. The pandemic is called the COVID-19 pandemic, both on Wikipedia and in all reliable sources. There are no Wikipedia hits for 'COVID-XIX' that you did not put there; the only hits in newspapers I can find are jokes about ancient Rome; and a dubious political letter to an Australian newspaper, which makes me wonder if you're trying to make an inappropriate political point. Whichever it is, stop it, both as your user and as your WP:LOUTSOCK. If you really believe Wikipedia should use terminology counter to every reliable source, justify it on a talk page and get consensus. Currently, you are wasting everyone's time.

Editing while logged out
editHi, Sportsfanrob, I'd like to suggest you formally denote your IP as an alt account as according to your userpage you will log out and then use an IP to continue editing. It's worth reminding you that all edits you do are treated as if it is the same person (outside of WP:CLEANSTART). Also, it's very worth not getting into the realms of sockpuppetry by confusing editors to your identity if you edit under another account (which includes IPs) in such a way as to hide your identity. I haven't seen such so far, but it's very worth being transparent in this.
Also, on your userpage, you'd suggest that if you were to be blocked, you would simply logout and continue editing. I don't think it is worth mentioning, but if you were to face a block then you should not edit in any way under any account that doesn't correspond with such a block. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:19, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
- My reply to Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) is when I should not edit in any way under any account will it be forever until the internet is down?, Is my block going to be permanent?, Will everyone by glad to see the back of me? Speedy deletion nomination of Sounds of the 90s
editHello Sportsfanrob,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Sounds of the 90s for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the album, song or discography is significant enough to be included in an encyclopedia, and the artist doesn't have an article of their own.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Paddington (TV series), you may be blocked from editing. And don’t say “Good riddance I will log out now and stop editing people think I am a bad editor I will give up now and maybe for good” because that is lying and will NOT help your case. Just change your behavior, and others will leave you alone. ~ Destroyeraa🌀 23:46, 2 October 2020 (UTC)
- Me?, a liar?, How long will I be blocked for? I could ask "Will that be forever?". Goodbye and Good Riddance! Sportsfanrob (talk) 08:48, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
- No, you won't be blocked forever, but I suggest you take a wikibreak an nor continue your disruptive editing. For example, don't add unsourced information nor overlink like this. ~ Destroyeraa🌀 14:42, 3 October 2020 (UTC)

- Some of this user’s edits are good-faith, but more than half are disruptive, such as the one to European Winter Storm Naming - WP:TOOSOON. This user has also made pointless drafts of television in 2022! ~ Destroyeraa🌀 00:16, 4 October 2020 (UTC)

Note about editing
editHey there Sportsfanrob!
Personally, I don't think you're a bad editor. It's just that your edits are at times disruptive and unconstructive. Please follow these steps before editing again:
- Please explain your edit in a short summary before you publish your edit. This will help other editors know what you're doing. It'll also help explain your actions if someone accuses you of disruptive editing
- Be open to criticism. Please work with your accusers and have a civil discussion with them. "Good riddance I will log out now bye" is not an acceptable response, since it neither helps your case nor is respectful to other editors.
- Explain your edits when another editor brings up a complaint about one of your edits. This won't happen that much if you follow step 1.
- Take a break from editing if another editor accuses you of disruptive editing. Use this time to follow Step 2.
Thank you for your contributions, and I hope you follow these steps in the future! ~ Destroyeraa🌀 18:35, 7 October 2020 (UTC)

editYou may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Stencil (typeface). Can you stop adding unsourced material? Please. ~ Destroyeraa🌀 15:04, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
- Goodbye Everyone who tells me to stop Good Riddance I will log out. Sportsfanrob (talk) 11:13, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
- Ok, cheers. You should know that you've been blocked for 3 months, in case you weren't aware. The Rambling Man (Hands! Face! Space!!!!) 10:18, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
- Just as a forbare (as I know it's coming), if you edit under an IP whilst your account is blocked, that is WP:block evasion and will be dealt with similarly. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 10:38, 13 October 2020 (UTC)

. Sockpuppet investigation
editAn editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Sportsfanrob, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Speedy deletion nomination of Firefighter strike (disambiguation)
editHello Sportsfanrob,
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Joseywales1961 and it's nice to meet you :-)
I wanted to let you know that I have tagged an article that you started, Firefighter strike (disambiguation) for deletion, because it is unnecessary and disambiguates only a single page.
If you feel that the page shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.
For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Joseywales1961}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!
