Reviewer permission

edit

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 03:46, 16 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oh. thanks. That should come in handy. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 03:53, 16 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please if you disagree with any of my edits go ahead and explain why and demonstrate what is wrong with my points. It's just plain rude to dismiss me wholesale and blanket revert my contributions. Thanks. Screwbiedooo

I moved this from the top to make it clearer. To Screwbiedooo: To me, it looks like most of what you're adding to the article is unreferenced. You're putting in links, sure, but in most cases they don't really back up the claims you're making. You really can't ever reliably source a claim like "That South Africa was able to host the 2010 world cup is undoubtedly in large part thanks to the historical and economic legacy of white South Africans."; that's just original research. User Screwbiedooo and the White South African article

edit

I've been following your struggle with Scewbiedooo with interest but also with growing irritation. I'd like to suggest that the article simply be rolled back all the way to how it was before Screwbiedoo started messing it up. If you have no objection I'll revert the article at or after 10:00 UTC on Monday 21 June 2010. Roger (talk) 12:37, 20 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Note that there was an IP preceding him that may or may not be him. Here is a summary of the changes from Seb's first edit to his last: [1] (to Seb: I have your talk page on watch from the days when ScienceGolfFan was attacking it; if you want me to remove it, I will.) I am really assuming good faith, here, though it becomes difficult. I was trying to educate this user, to no avail; apart from that, I wouldn't want to be caught in a 3RR over this junk. Feel free to revert -- I think what remains is still junk, though not obvious junk. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 00:54, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Bakkie

edit

Is a bakkie synonymous with a pickup truck, or is its meaning restricted to a coupé utility? See also my comment at Talk:Pickup truck#Bakkie.  Andreas  (T) 13:59, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I only lived in urban areas; I'd say it's a pickup-truck, but then again, you should ask people from the platteland. af:Bakkie (voertuig) says: a Bakkie is a vehicle with an open tray/container upon which freight can be transported and which is seperate from the driver's cabin. Thanks. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 17:28, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Watchlist

edit

Thanks for the help with the poetry article. Still learning the codes. Question on watchlist: I came across an anonymous user who'd vandalized a biography article. I undid the changes and have the article on watchlist, but am not sure how notification of changes works. Think I'm missing something about watchlist. Thanks again on the poetry article. Oakbranch (talk) 21:43, 27 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

You access your watchlist by clicking on "My watchlist" (above right). Gives you a list of the last change for each page you watch; there are no separate notifications. To stay afloat, you could make it part of your routine: log on and check your watchlist before you do anything else. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 01:31, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Why is it you admins keep deleting my edits and dont email me or fix my page? <email redacted> thanks, donny long —Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.154.230.125 (talk) 10:02, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

not deleted, reverted; 'cause this is vandalism. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 10:15, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

DID you even read my post? I have emailed wiki and admins for a week to remove the libel from my page and I cant get through to anyone. Read the talk page on Donny long wiki which is me. I wrote that days ago. How do i get the libel removed and my page fixed? At this point I just wanted it deleted. HOW DO I GET THE WHOLE PAGE DELETED? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.121.197.42 (talk) 10:34, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

You'd have to go through AFD. Stop vandalizing, though. It won't help your cause. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 10:39, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

He should know which movies he was in, I don't see anything dubious about it, actually he has been in many more movies. Off2riorob (talk) 14:42, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

hm. possibly. I'm by now simply very skeptical of the anything he's claiming... ah well... Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 14:43, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yes the subject does have issues, and is perhaps strugglein to understand the wikipedia idea. That is me being polite. Its weakly cited although he clearly is notable. I think we are stuck with it. His acting is not like films but more like clips, short scenes only. Ow well, perhaps he is happier now. Off2riorob (talk) 14:52, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
