Coordinator elections have opened!Voting for the Military history WikiProject coordinator elections has opened; all users are encouraged to participate in the elections. Voting will conclude 23:59 (UTC) on 28 March 2010. pixar templateBecause we're not going to list every Pixar employee who has a WP page in the template or it would become unnecessarily unwiedly, and he's not part of the Pixar "brain trust" of which the template has been isolated to. Perhaps if he were to do something significantly major at Pixar besides some video game work (say, direct a feature film), but until then... Doesn't mean he can't appear eventually, but there's no reason to include him now. Perhaps List of Pixar staff, but even then I don't see it working.SpikeJones (talk) 22:23, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

Hi Sabre, Thanks for the good input on the Starcraft 2 criticism section. As you noted, there is a discussion about the section in a Starcraft forum, but the meat of that discussion is on making the section fit wikipedia's standards and finding reliable sources to link to. The goal is to create an unbiased section that informs the public of the current criticism directed at Blizzard without being hostile or negative. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zuchinni one (talk • contribs) 17:50, 30 May 2010 (UTC) Starcraft 2 reception/criticismHi Sabre! You seemed to have a very good handle on how to approach any type of reception/criticism section for the Starcraft 2 article. I made a suggestion in the talk page about what to do and I would appreciate your input. The random excerpt also looks familiar. The book is on sale for $10, and is also at Amazon and Barnes & Noble under the ISBN 978-1156-61699-4. The publisher, General Books, has a shady looking link: http://generalbooks.org/index.html Kimera757 (talk) 12:59, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

Judicator vs TemplarThanks for correcting me on this. I was remembering the audio in my head and thinking you were generally referred to as "Judicator", but it's "Executor" I was actually thinking of. Cheers. So, I guess that means that the article needs to reach GA in order for the StarCraft FT to keep its status. Are you up for it? I can pitch in if needed, no problem, although the article looks in relatively decent shape already. I do have one condition, though, before I do any work on it—I have to have actually played the game! I'm on a Mac, so even though they say that the game will be released for Macs, I'm still doubtful as to whether I can actually get my hands on it until I actually have it in my hands (and no, I won't install Windows on my Mac just to play the game. I'm on an old computer.) Gary King (talk · scripts) 15:21, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

This has been an automated delivery by BrownBot (talk) 19:35, 6 July 2010 (UTC) Top Gear MovePlease be aware you have made a unilateral move which is very unhelpful. The moving of this page is very unhelpful as the title had been agreed upon by a very long and contenious discussion. The page was deemed not to be the sole focus of the title Top Gear as it conflicted with the previous Top Gear T.V Series which started in the 1970s. If the phrase Top Gear redirected to the 2002 incarnation then that was clearly an error as it should have redirected to the disambiguation page. Could you please undo your edit and if you still believe that the page needs movigng request that the page be formally moved on the discussion board. I do apreciate your edit was made in good faith, it just flys in the face of the agreed concensus.--Lucy-marie (talk) 21:57, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
StarcraftSigh... it took me like 6 hours of searching the web to find the original retail price of starcraft. : ( I had a bet with a co-worker who was convinced that it retailed at $29.99, and now companies are charging double for the same type of product. Is it not valid to note price as a point of accurate Comparison / perspective? Can you include the price anywhere on a wiki page? It would seem to be this type of data may be useful for historical accuracy, inflationary data, price gauging or research purposes. Anyways,I didnt expect it to be accepted, keep up the good work! Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.87.177.123 (talk) 20:53, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
StarCraft 2Just an FYI the reason that the image was uploaded is that it was included in a referenced review. I disagree that its purpose was to disparage anything. In fact it is a simple and clear image that describes fan dissatisfaction with Battle.net 2.0 and has been widely used to sum up their frustration. http://www.softsailor.com/news/34789-starcraft-2-a-disappointment-7-reasons-not-to-buy-it.html Also, I personally love the game, although I will admit some aspects of Bnet frustrate me. But wikipedia has to stay NPOV and that means including both positive and negative reviews. Zuchinni one (talk) 12:34, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
Hey Sabre, The text wasn't mine. Someone else had put it in and another person removed it without no comments. When I looked at the removal it was clear that the text had no references and didn't belong in the article. But I did know of some references that existed so I restored they text, hid it, and added the references I knew about. I wanted to allow the original author the chance to support what was said without losing their work and without it being included in the article unless it met wikipedia standards. Zuchinni one (talk) 14:04, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
It is NOT standard and it is completely different from the way the original game was licensed. There has been a HUGE controversy about this, especially in Korea in relation to the e-sports scene, and there is currently a lawsuit that is directly challenging this model of sale. Please restore this, it is very relevant and should be included. Zuchinni one (talk) 14:07, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

SC2 OverheatingHi S@bre, I'd like to ask your help with the "overheating video cards" section of the article. There has been a lot of back and forth on the topic and it seems that some people are trying to put all the blame on Blizzard and others are putting all the blame on hardware issues. My personal thoughts, which don't matter at all, is that its somewhere in between. I doubt that a properly cooled computer will get damaged, but on the other hand many computers are not perfect and laptops especially have overheating issues already. Also the problem is easily fixed by framerate locking the menu screens and, as a programmer, I would say that when your program uses more system resources than it needs to, that's a design flaw. I've done a number of article searches and it seems that most of the articles are simply trying to be informative about the issue and suggesting that people implement the fix that Blizzard put out. I've only seen one that directly puts the blame on the hardware, if others are out there they should be included as well. Anyway I think that you're a good and NPOV voice in general and I personally strive to be NPOV myself. I think that the recent edit I made to that section is good, but your input would be greatly appreciated. http://en.wiki.x.io/w/index.php?title=StarCraft_II:_Wings_of_Liberty&diff=378068020&oldid=378051406 Cheers, Zuchinni one (talk) 21:44, 9 August 2010 (UTC) Orphaned non-free image File:SpartanTWbox.jpgPLEASE NOTE:

Starting my second passI'm working over Tales of Monkey Island for the second time, to correct things I missed—and the mistakes I made—during my first pass. Having now read the entire article, I can say that you aren't going to have much trouble reaching FA. I do, however, see one thing that should probably be changed before you nominate it: the Gameplay section's failure to describe chapter-specific gameplay elements beyond those of the first episode. Having never played the game, I hadn't noticed this omission until I reached the Reception section, where special mention is given to the gameplay elements of a "trial", and a climactic fight sequence, among other scenes. The Gameplay section details the first episode's "treasure hunt mode", but none of the gameplay deviations later in the series. It isn't huge, but it will cause people who haven't played the game—or any games, for that matter—to have trouble following the Reception section. I recommend that you address this before proceeding to FAC. Beyond that, though, I don't foresee any issues. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 17:24, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Why did you revert the "Tales of Monkey Island" section of Elaine Marley? In the "Tales of Monkey Island" section of Elaine Marley, the story claims that "Guybrush returns as a ghost and maneuvers LeChuck into a position where Elaine can attack him with the cutlass." I think you've got it wrong: Guybrush's spirit can't maneuver LeChuck into a position when Elaine can attack him (before returning to life, that is); Guybrush has to return in zombie form in order to maneuver LeChuck BEFORE he (Guybrush) can return to life. Can't you correct the trivia for once, instead of reverting the changes I made?--Angeldeb82 (talk) 15:48, 18 November 2010 (UTC) The Bugle: Issue LVI, October 2010

Topic removals are pretty flexible, so if the article gets pushed to GAN soon the topic removal will hang on until it passes/doesn't. --PresN 22:51, 2 December 2010 (UTC) The Bugle: Issue LVII, November 2010

For the scriptwriting, arguably the main task in writing, all those people were credited in the order they were added to the infoboxes, not just the project leads. They are of equal importance. Prime Blue (talk) 22:29, 14 December 2010 (UTC) Re:TMI FACSounds good. I'm a little concerned, though, about the dead links. I'll avoid saying anything on the FAC page for now, lest it cause an unjustified pile-on, but I really think Trebor has a point. I think you should quickly remedy this issue, or you could be looking at some serious trouble in the near future. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 16:26, 30 December 2010 (UTC) |
