Israeli film

edit

As yet the page hasn't had development so things haven't developed. But when all the films are added the template will link decades together. Please see Template:Israelifilmlist now for the eventual idea . Hey my grandfather was Jewish. He is mentioned in the article Jennifer Sullivan. HIs middle name was Reuban!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:32, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

It would be used to connect the list articles together e.g l;ike:

Give me a little time to add all the A-Z of Israeil films to the lists and it'll look like List of Italian films soon enough. Promise - You see I'm trying to list and document most of world film here I started the List of American films , List of British films, List of French films etc the whole world lists -i'll get to Israel eventually as I did List of Filipino films the other day but if needs be I do the Israeli list asap. All the best ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:53, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think you'd be as surprised as me. According to imdb there are 1900 odd titles but even if only 1000 of these are notable for the lists that would make well over a 500kb single page when the details are added!!! I'll format A now and gradually do this soon . Cool ? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:07, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

This will then be the necessary step for getting Israeli cinema covered entirely on wikipedia. ONce all the films and actors are red linked on the pages, some wiki guy can clean through them making sure they all have articles resulting in several thousand new articles for Israel hopefully. I want to see globally even coverage on wikipedia so some guy in Tuvalu knows every single thing about the world that he wouldn't normally get to know about. Adios y saludos ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:15, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

OK i've laid a foundation now. IN the next few days I'll add films D-Z , put all in alphabetical order and gradually add the details and eventually fill in all the red links. PLease feel free to add to the lists by general tidying and alpha order. Its under way anyway ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:47, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use Image:Lego_Mindstorms_NXT_Robot.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Lego_Mindstorms_NXT_Robot.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 23:30, 5 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I removed a pre-existing personal attack by accident on the Itshappyday's talk page, and then decided against it. Cheers! --Bradeos Graphon Βραδέως Γράφων (talk) 23:26, 14 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

No harm done, I'd actually let myself get distracted for a bit, went and got some coffee, and when I came back to the computer I was under the impression I was looking at an article talk page, not a user talk page, and zapped it. Then when I got my new screen I saw it was User talk:Itshappyday after all not Talk:Ilchi Lee and reverted myself. Most of the users whom that particular vandal insulted seem to have left the attack on their userpages (I removed mine when he got me), so I didn't want to go against the user's apparent wishes. --Bradeos Graphon Βραδέως Γράφων (talk) 23:35, 14 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Chushi abba.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Chushi abba.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Thankyou, I have created the page again and added the website, but have not used one of the templates yet as they are a bit overwhelming. I think the main thing that makes them notable are that they are a market leader for high-quality silicone toys (that is their marketing differentiator). I have also added a source from MSNBC that might help. O-Ring (talk) 00:56, 16 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thankyou although, to be honest, other people did most of the work with making the article look better. Malpighiaceae Disambig question

edit

Hi Reuven, Intermittently I have been adding information about genera of the plant family Malpighiaceae. Now I have a conflict and don't know how to set up a disambiguation page from scratch. One of the genera of Malpighiacae is Rhynchophora, but there is also a weevil genus by that name for which a page already exists. I have crawled through the disambiguation pages in the Help but find them overwhelming. All I need is a quickie page to distinguish between and plant and a bug. Thanks! Israeli MIAs

edit

The only government pages I can find that class Goldwasser and Regev as "MIA" are dated prior to June; pages regarding the proposal are ambiguous, speaking only about the deal for their return and not whether they're alive. My edit was based on the assumption that Olmert's statement would become the government's stance, though you could certainly be right that this isn't the case. Do you have a source saying they remain officially MIA despite his opinion, or was your revert based on the lack of a stated policy change? DO56 (talk) 20:12, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Yosef Almogi.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Yosef Almogi.jpg.

You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:06, 2 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Motto of the Day Help Request April 2014

edit

Motto of the Day (WP:MOTD) is in a state of emergency and really needs your help! There are not enough editors who are reviewing or nominating mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review, and this probably means that you will notice a red link or “This space for rent” as our mottos for the next weeks and months.

Please take a moment to review the nominations and nominate your own new mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review and Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/'Specials. Any help would be appreciated! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 09:13, 29 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

This message has been sent by pjoef on behalf of Motto of the Day to all editors of the English Wikipedia who are showing MOTD's templates on their pages, and to all the participants to MOTD: (page, template, and category).

Adrianne Wadewitz edit-a-thons in Southern New England

As you may have already heard, the Wikipedia community lost an invaluable member of the community last month. Adrianne Wadewitz was a feminist scholar of 18th-Century British literature, and a prolific editor of the site. As part of a worldwide series of tributes, New England Wikimedians, in conjunction with local institutions of higher learning, have created three edit-a-thons that will be occurring in May and June. The events are as follows:

We hope that you will be able to join us, whether you are an experienced editor or are using Wikipedia for the first time.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
