List of ... additions
editCould you please stop with adding that list to all see also sections of a lot of pages. That type of functionality is covered by the categories at the bottom, and the link is not really adding more info to the page. The 'see also' section is more for pages which give more information but which are not linked in the text. I will revert these additions (sorry again), but may I invite you to the wikiproject on chemicals to start a discussion there if you think this is really helpful? Thanks. --Dirk Beetstra T C 10:21, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
Redirects and Disambig Molecular Formulas Discussion
editHi Pikiwyn, Welcome to Wikipedia. I see you are interested in adding molecular formula pages pointing to the chemistry articles. There is a discussion of the value of redirects vs disambig pages for this going on in the Wikipedia:WikiProject Chemistry at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Chemistry#Useless redirects which you may wish to participate in. Regards, ChemGardener (talk) 02:44, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
Cyanuric acid etc
editI see that you are adding bolding to articles in the Chemistry area. If you are advocating a policy along these lines, you probably want to discuss the proposal with other editors at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Chemistry. The project also has a manual of style: Wikipedia:Manual of Style (chemistry). Looking forward to hearing from you.--Smokefoot (talk) 17:31, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

editWelcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, you may not know that Wikipedia has a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Using different styles throughout the encyclopedia, as you did in Meg, makes it harder to read. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. --DAJF (talk) 09:33, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Butadiene Resin Article
editHi Pikiwyn, The new chemistry article you created, Butadiene resin, seems to mix a couple of articles that are already present. The name butadiene resin would seem to refer to the polymer of butadiene or an oligomer of it. The names in the infobox indicate it would be 2-Butene. In checking it online, I see that the Chemical Industry site also mashes the butene monomers and butadiene polymers together, probably because of the usual way of representing the repeating unit in the polymer. Do you have any sources that separate them better?
I'm redirecting butadiene resin to Polybutadiene. With all these names, there may be other redirects that are needed to separate them properly. Have you seen any of them? Regards, ChemGardener (talk) 01:30, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

You are welcome - you earned it. But you also seem like a savvy editor who might be able to tell me how to archive my discussion page, which is not that active, but way too long none the less. Carptrash (talk) 18:27, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not completely sure, but I think you create a new page called User talk:Carptrash/Archive 1 and move your current talk page there and then add a link to the archive on your talk page, hope I helped. Pikiwyn talk 18:32, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

So I just cut-&-pasted my chatter to that page and it looks great. Like taking a shower after not having one since sometime in 2007. You've earned another Thumbs Up Award, but sorry, only one a day. Life is good. Einar

Your reversion of my edit to List of Organic Compounds
editWould you please explain why you reverted my change to the page 'List of Organic Compounds'? I removed 'Water' from the list because it isn't an organic compound (it doesn't contain carbon). Within two minutes you had reverted the change, in the process sending me a message saying among other things that "your change did not appear to be either helpful or constructive". As I do not have a Wikipedia log in at present, feel free to reply on the talk page of the List of Organic Compounds. 81.136.198.184 (talk) 14:48, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

Altered Speedy Deletion rationale: File talk:Ajuga reptans valfredda 002.JPG
editHello Pikiwyn, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I have deleted a page you tagged (File talk:Ajuga reptans valfredda 002.JPG) under a criterion different from the one your provided, which was inappropriate or incorrect. CSD criteria are narrow and specific to protect the encyclopedia, and the process is more effective if the correct deletion rationale is supplied. Consider reviewing the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. Thanks again! NW (Talk) 20:19, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks I'll be more careful about what criteria I tag articles for next time. Pikiwyn talk 20:38, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
File source problem with File:Diana Karazon.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Diana Karazon.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 03:32, 13 December 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 03:32, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
You are now a Reviewer
editHello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 23:33, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:The circus maximus.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:The circus maximus.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude2 (talk) 06:10, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use File:Maureen-Shea.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Maureen-Shea.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Hammersoft (talk) 19:14, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

Possibly unfree File:White crucifixion.jpg
editA file that you uploaded or altered, File:White crucifixion.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. Speedy deletion nomination of Suthol
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Suthol, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. --Non-Dropframe talk 10:58, 14 May 2015 (UTC)

Micanol
editThere's another Micanol. It's phenolic (e.g. Bakelite) with ground mica filler. It's been used for electron tube bases and other electrical insulators, because of its good high-frequency properties. How do we turn your redirect page (to Dithranol) into a disambiguation page?
